This beautiful Rottweiler mix has a heart as big as her smile. Josie loves people, adores her toys, and keeps her kennel tidy like the good girl she is. She walks wonderfully on leash and enjoys every chance to get out and explore. Josie was adopted once before but found herself back at the shelter a few years later — through no fault of her own. She’s ready to start fresh and find the loving forever family she’s been waiting for. She can be a little selective about her dog friends and will need a home without cats, but she more than makes up for it with her loyal, affectionate personality. Josie is playful, people-loving, and ready to fill your life with joy — apply to meet her and see why she’s so special!

Story
Brody is a sweet, affectionate adolescent Rottweiler who has been well socialized. He is a loving boy that enjoys affection and rubs. Brody would do best with someone who understands larger working breeds and is willing to provide the patience, structure, consistency, and continued training that young Rottweilers need. Brody’s main behavioral challenge is resource guarding, particularly around high-value food items. With the right guidance, management, and continued training, this is something that can be worked on. I currently do not have the resources for training. If any experienced trainers see this and are willing to help me I will keep him. Brody would do best in a calm, experienced home where his boundaries can be respected and positive training can continue. My hope is to find someone who can give him the structure, patience, and one-on-one attention he needs to continue growing into the wonderful dog that he is.I am willing to lower the adoption fee for the right home.

Dalgona is new here!  Stay tuned for more info on this precious pup! Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend, and can arrange, dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
