Sir Gabriel Update Our handsome boy Sir Gabriel is being such a good boy as he rests from his first heartworm treatment. This part of the process is painful, but our gentle giant is handling it like an absolute champion. And look how smart he is! His Food Goddess asked him what he wanted — “Do you want the peanut butter Kong? If you do, show me where it’s at.” And just look at him… he marched right over to the freezer to show her exactly where it was! This boy’s intelligence is unreal. Sir Gabriel is spending his recovery time with his two Rottie foster sisters: Deja – the big momma of the group Rumor – the baby girl of the house They’re keeping him company, helping him stay relaxed, and surrounding him with the kind of love only dogs know how to give. Please keep Sir Gabriel in your prayers as he continues this journey. Healing takes time, patience, and a whole lot of love — and he has all three. Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. This beautiful Rottweiler mix has a heart as big as her smile. Josie loves people, adores her toys, and keeps her kennel tidy like the good girl she is. She walks wonderfully on leash and enjoys every chance to get out and explore. Josie was adopted once before but found herself back at the shelter a few years later — through no fault of her own. She’s ready to start fresh and find the loving forever family she’s been waiting for. She can be a little selective about her dog friends and will need a home without cats, but she more than makes up for it with her loyal, affectionate personality. Josie is playful, people-loving, and ready to fill your life with joy — apply to meet her and see why she’s so special!

Dior is a 5-year-old mixed breed with a gentle heart. He came to us as a stray, and though he was microchipped, his owner never came to bring him home. Despite that, Dior hasn’t lost his sweet spirit. He knows “sit” and takes his treats with the softest mouth. Playful and loving, he enjoys a good romp but is happiest when he can curl up beside you for cuddles. Dior is ready to give his heart to someone who will never stop loving him in return.

Ramsay is a purebred, male Rottweiler who is 4 years old. We welcomed him into our home when he was just a pup. He is incredibly intelligent, playful, and strong-willed, and is obsessed with watching television. He loves his family just as much as we love him. He is very headstrong and needs an owner who is able to handle this type of personality. He is in a home with older children and has not been around small children. We have another dog that he was raised with, and he gets along beautifully with him. He has not been around any other dogs since he was young, so I do not know how he would do with other animals. Looking to re-home him as he is housebroken but marks at times. We are devastated to part with him, but I am not able to handle this behavioral issue any longer.

Rhode is a friendly and happy senior rescue dog. He lived with his person for 12 years and provided loving support and companionship. Unfortunately, his person recently experienced a health crisis and can no longer care for him. Rhode was also a great friend to his person's son. They shared lots of special time. Rhode was popular with residents in the high-rise where he lived for 12 years. He is quiet and enjoys meeting new people. He has arthritis but eats and drinks well. He just had a check-up and is in good shape for a senior dog. He will go out for 20-minute walks; he is easy to walk. He can go up and down carpeted steps. He seems to enjoy being in the company of my cats.
