Story

Coffee is a beautiful rottweiler who was at risk of getting shot after being dumped on a rural property. She was heartworm positive but has been treated for it. She has stubby tail. She has been good with male and female dogs medium to large but has not been around small dogs or cats. She is very very friendly with people. She walks well on the leash. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Scooter is an 18 month old female Rottweiler mix who was surrendered when her owner died in Memphis. Sweet and gentle, but somewhat shy and tentative with new people and situations. Great with other dogs and would enjoy a dog buddy in her new home. Not cat tested. Has never lived with children, although she’d likely be fine with older dog-savvy children. Housebroken but never crated because she doesn’t need to be. High energy level outside, settles down quickly in the house. Low maintenance, good house manners. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Loves to be with her people. DOB is April 2024. Scooter has entropian Right Eye but it doesn’t seem to bother her much. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 80 pounds. Sweet young rottie mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed. So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. I can only be adopted in TX and HAVE to be met and introduced and spend time with me before the rescue will approve my adoption. So only the strong need apply!! In the sweltering heat I was blessed enough to CHOOSE the Post Office to hang out in. He has the subtle markings of a Rottweiler or a Doberman and the temperament of a lab. He had an injured hip when saved but he has had surgery and has had his heartworms treated. During all this time he has started to know what a kind hand is like, some love, and real food!
