Story
Buddy is such a wonderful boy. He has the heart of a puppy and loves to play. He’ll make an excellent family pet as he gets along fantastic with kids and other dogs.   His owner passed away and currently he is in foster care. All of his vetting was done in October 2025. He is heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines.   He’s a big boy at 77 pounds. We do not know how he is with cats since he’s never been exposed to any.    His adoption fee is $350 and that includes the cost for transport.  ##2688185##

Story
Meet Misty! A spirited almost four-year-old Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix currently living in Blackwood, NJ, whose essence is a golden burst of affection wrapped in a 90-pound frame of playful energy and heart-melting cuddles. Misty is the kind of dog who makes herself known, not just by her stunning golden brown coat with white accents, but with the way she leans in close to rest her head on your chest, or showers you with kisses when you’ve had a long day. She’s a sweet-natured, medium-energy girl who absolutely adores people, especially kids, and thrives in environments filled with love, consistency, and room to stretch her long legs. Her favorite toy? A squeaky octopus that brings out her goofy, playful side every time! This affectionate girl is crate trained, house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She knows commands like “come,” “sit,” “lay,” and “stay”, though like any independent soul, she occasionally needs a reminder to follow through. She’s done well with short periods alone, especially when left with a chew bone (though she’s been known to redecorate with shredded paper if boredom strikes!). Misty has done great at doggie daycare, where structured settings and supervised play make her feel at ease. However, Misty must be the only animal in her home. She has severe resource guarding issues, particularly around food, and has had altercations with other dogs in the home. While she’s friendly with dogs in controlled environments, she cannot share living space or food areas with other animals. Misty shines with positive reinforcement and gentle, firm guidance. She responds beautifully to a calm but confident voice, especially when her excitement bubbles over into enthusiastic greetings (yes, she's a jumper, because she just can't wait to say hello!). Misty is ready for a home with a spacious fenced yard and a patient, loving caregiver who understands her quirks and sees the loyal, affectionate companion beneath. Ready to make room on your couch, and in your heart, for Misty? To learn more about welcoming Misty into your family, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. I can only be adopted in TX and HAVE to be met and introduced and spend time with me before the rescue will approve my adoption. So only the strong need apply!! You will get an AMAZING and DEDICATED and EXTREMELY LOYAL DOG! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)

These pups are in Springfield, Massachusetts too!

Story
Once Tinkerbell feels comfortable, her true personality really shines. She’ll happily roll around in your lap and paw at you, asking for more love and attention. It’s in these moments that her sweet, playful, and wonderfully goofy nature comes out in full. This smart girl knows sit, paw, and catch!SAFE DOG MEETS AT THE SHELTER: https://www.tjoconnoradoptioncenter.com/what-we-do/safe-dog-meetsOTHER PETS: Tinkerbell has done well with smaller dogs during her time at TJO. However, she would thrive best as the only pet in a home, as she can become uncomfortable when other dogs receive attention.Should be only pet OWNER EXPERIENCE: Tinkerbell would do best with an adopter who has prior experience with positive reinforcement, and understands that some dogs need extra time to adjust. She’s a sensitive girl who will benefit from a patient, understanding owner who can give her the support she needs during her transition, making sure to allow her to set the pace. Some Experience KIDS: Tinkerbell is a cautious dog who takes her time warming up to new people and environments. She can be a bit skittish around sudden sounds and movements, so she thrives best in a calm, predictable home. Because of this, Tinkerbell would do best with children aged 15 and older who understand how to approach dogs gently and respectfully. Any potential adopters with kids should plan for a meet-and-greet to ensure everyone feels comfortable. Kids 15+ (Must Meet First) ACTIVITY LEVEL:Tinkerbell has a moderate activity level, enjoying a mixture of playtime and relaxation. She loves being outdoors and can be playful when the mood strikes, but she’s just as happy lounging around and taking it easy. She would do well with regular walks and some fun time outside, followed by plenty of time to relax and unwind at home. A combination of exercise and mental enrichment will help meet her needs. Couch Potato VETERINARY CARE: Routine LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Tinkerbell will thrive with positive reinforcement, using treats, praise, and patience to help her feel safe and build trust while reinforcing new skills and fun tricks. Because she can be nervous around sudden noises, quick movements, and new people, she’ll need continued support to grow her confidence at her own pace. Gentle, exposure to new experiences at her pace will help her feel more secure over time. With understanding and encouragement, Tinkerbell can blossom into a more confident and comfortable girl.GROOMING:Minimal May 26, 2026, 5:00 pm
