Story
Meet Misty! A spirited almost four-year-old Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix currently living in Blackwood, NJ, whose essence is a golden burst of affection wrapped in a 90-pound frame of playful energy and heart-melting cuddles. Misty is the kind of dog who makes herself known, not just by her stunning golden brown coat with white accents, but with the way she leans in close to rest her head on your chest, or showers you with kisses when you’ve had a long day. She’s a sweet-natured, medium-energy girl who absolutely adores people, especially kids, and thrives in environments filled with love, consistency, and room to stretch her long legs. Her favorite toy? A squeaky octopus that brings out her goofy, playful side every time! This affectionate girl is crate trained, house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She knows commands like “come,” “sit,” “lay,” and “stay”, though like any independent soul, she occasionally needs a reminder to follow through. She’s done well with short periods alone, especially when left with a chew bone (though she’s been known to redecorate with shredded paper if boredom strikes!). Misty has done great at doggie daycare, where structured settings and supervised play make her feel at ease. However, Misty must be the only animal in her home. She has severe resource guarding issues, particularly around food, and has had altercations with other dogs in the home. While she’s friendly with dogs in controlled environments, she cannot share living space or food areas with other animals. Misty shines with positive reinforcement and gentle, firm guidance. She responds beautifully to a calm but confident voice, especially when her excitement bubbles over into enthusiastic greetings (yes, she's a jumper, because she just can't wait to say hello!). Misty is ready for a home with a spacious fenced yard and a patient, loving caregiver who understands her quirks and sees the loyal, affectionate companion beneath. Ready to make room on your couch, and in your heart, for Misty? To learn more about welcoming Misty into your family, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Buddy is such a wonderful boy. He has the heart of a puppy and loves to play. He’ll make an excellent family pet as he gets along fantastic with kids and other dogs.   His owner passed away and currently he is in foster care. All of his vetting was done in October 2025. He is heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines.   He’s a big boy at 77 pounds. We do not know how he is with cats since he’s never been exposed to any.    His adoption fee is $350 and that includes the cost for transport.  ##2688185##

Story
Welcome Rocky to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Rottweiler or Shepherd/Bulldog is our best guess on breed. He has a beautiful grey coat that is shorter and he is athletic and friendly. He weighs about 50 pounds and is a good weight and is about 1.5 years old. He has new adult teeth that are still nice and clean. He would be perfect for a runner, walker, jogger, hiker or athletic and outdoorsy family. He loves all people so you won’t have any trouble with him meeting new people. He would love to join a family on all their adventures. He is good in his kennel and goes potty in his outdoor space. He hasn’t been reactive when we had him on leash. He is a head turner for sure. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered and ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks. He is outgoing and would be fine with a family that has children. We would like children to be 8 or older. Rocky is not a big shedding dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
From the moment you meet Dinah, there is a sense of comfort and calm there. It’s almost like she makes you slow down and smile without even realizing it. If her soft eyes don’t pull you in the way she gently melts at your feet for a moment of love will absolutely get you. At a little over a year old and 63 lbs, this beautiful Rottweiler/Shepherd mix (best guess, of course) is still discovering the world, and every day her playful, affectionate personality grows. What stands out most about Dinah is how deeply loving she is. She absolutely adores gentle affection, melts for belly rubs, and forms the kind of quiet, meaningful connection that feels incredibly special. Go watch Dinah on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this belly-rub loving shy girl. https://youtu.be/i4HWTc6GtXs Dinah is being fostered in a loving home with other dogs and while she can initially come across as shy in new environments, her foster shared that underneath that passing feeling is a playful, affectionate girl who truly loves her people. We spent an afternoon with her outside of her foster home and she was just a whole bunch of gentle sweetness. We let her take it slow and it didnt take much time at all before she was meeting new people, rolingl over to show her belly, and gently taking treats. The cutest thing was when the belly rubs stopped, Dinah would quietly scoot herself back closer asking for more. It was one of those tiny little moments that says everything about who she really is. Dinah is very people-oriented despite her shyness. More than anything, she seems to crave soft affection, patient reassurance, and gentle connection. She takes comfort in calm voices and kind handling and really appears to blossom when she realizes nobody expects anything from her except simply being herself. She has a wonderfully soft mouth when taking treats and overall comes across as an incredibly sensitive, thoughtful dog. With other dogs, Dinah initially needed a little time to settle in and trust the situation, but once she relaxed she showed very appropriate social skills and gentle communication. Pushy dogs can overwhelm her, though she gives fair, controlled corrections when needed and then quickly moves on. She would likely do best with respectful, socially savvy dogs, especially calm or playful medium to large dogs who won’t crowd her. Her foster shared that once comfortable at home she actually enjoys rough-and-tumble style play, which feels very believable for a young dog finally letting her guard down. Dinah is not recommended for homes with cats or very small dogs, and because fast movement and busy environments initially can make her feel overwhelmed, we think she would likely thrive most in a calmer home with older kids or adults who understand shy dogs and the beauty of letting trust build slowly. The thing about Dinah is that she is not difficult, dramatic, or demanding. She is simply sensitive. She notices tone, energy, movement, and intention in a deep way. Dogs like Dinah often form incredibly strong bonds with the people who give them patience and safety because once they trust you, they truly love with their whole heart. If you are looking for a soft soul who just wants gentle affection, belly rubs, and someone to love deeply, Dinah is ready and waiting for you.
