Story
Meet Jax! A nearly seven-year-old Boxer mix who is ready to travel anywhere for his forever family! Weighing in at a solid 70 pounds, Jax might just think he's a lap dog with his affectionate, sloppy kisses and an unwavering desire to be close to his humans. Imagine this gentle giant curled at your feet, or better yet, joining in a lively game of keep-away with gleeful children. His joy is palpable, especially when he performs his signature "jumping jax" at the mere mention of a walk! Jax has a heart full of resilience and love, ready to bring warmth to any family. Though he prefers not to be left alone for long, he’s a perfect companion when around other dogs he knows or people—even if just in another room. He adores the great outdoors, and his enthusiasm shines during playdates and adventures at the local dog park. He’s sociable with dogs of all sizes, though his recall may need a little polish—Jax is ever curious about the wildlife he encounters! Living with Jax means embracing his high-energy spirit and managing his sensitive stomach with the right diet. An enclosed yard, constant companionship, and a routine filled with walks and playtime would ensure his days are as joyful as he is. Does your home have room for a big-hearted boxer mix with a love for life? Could you be the one to keep Jax's tail wagging happily ever after? If so, please contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com, and let's chat about the joy Jax can bring into your life! Also, Jax is open to a long-distance adoption—love knows no distance when finding your perfect companion!

Story
If you would like to apply to take CANELA SIMONE/Courtesy listing home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Canela Simone is a female spayed Boxer/Pitty Mix. Her doctor estimated her birthday as 3/2021 based on her size and dentition at her first few appointments. She currently lives in Western Massachusetts as a single pup with me. She is good with people, although sometimes it can take her a moment to warm up to groups that include tall men. She is very excitable when she meets new people and can forget her manners and try to jump up. She is very responsive to "four on the floor"/redirection with treats. She loves spending time with the neighbors' kids (ranging in age from 3 - 10), and does better with not jumping when around smaller humans. She is very partial to face kisses. She has not been around very many cats. The few cats she's spent time with have been for brief periods and she is too interested in them. She acts the same way with stray cats as she does with squirrels and birds, so I do not and would not trust her to live with cats. She has spent a lot of time around other dogs and enjoys them. Generally, she gets along better with male dogs that are her age and younger. She's been attacked at the dog park by two separate female dogs. So, we no longer go to the dog park and she no longer spends time with female dogs (with exceptions for female dogs with owners that I know well). When she is around male dogs she does well and is incredibly playful. She is very rambunctious and likes to roughhouse, so she would do well either as an only dog with a select group of friends or in a house with another young dog that really likes to play. I added two pictures with some of her dog friends. Canela has a few chronic illnesses (skin allergies, IBD, an immune disorder) that are being well managed by her primary vet and her internal medicine specialist. She's very much a happy, healthy girl - as long as she takes her meds and eats her prescription diet. If she eats too many foods/treats that aren't prescribed, she'll have GI issues. If she stops her meds, she'll deal with skin itching and irritation. Additionally, without her meds she'll have episodes of high fevers and lethargy. She hasn't had a full episode in almost 2 years, since she started taking Prednisone. Her only mini episode happened when we tried to taper her down to see if she could handle a lower dose; she could not. She was back to normal within hours of resuming her normal dose and she's been just fine since. She gets her oral medications mixed directly into her food (and eats with no complaints). She also receives one subcutaneous injection a week (this is done at home while she's eating, and she's perfect for it).

Story
Name: Yoshi Breed: Boxer mix Approximate Age: 2 years 8 months old Sex: Male Dogs: Yes ( His size or bigger ) Cats: NO Kids: Yes Yoshi loves kids and other dogs but they will need to be his size or larger. Yoshi is not a fan of smaller animals so no cats or smaller dogs for him. He will need a family committed to training as we do feel in a home committed we will do great. He has boxer energy and sometimes other dogs take it the wrong way. We would prefer a family with breed experience -Attention all puppies will need a family committed to basic obedience training. This includes but is not limited to: House, leash, behavioral & crate training. If there is a cat in the home, it is the adopters responsibility to get them acclimated to one another. We suggest contacting a trainer as soon as possible. All dogs are fixed and up to date on shots for adoption. Link to application : http://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html
