Story
Paolo is such a cool and sweet kitty. He greets everyone who enters the room and looks like he is saying, "What's up, human?" Paolo is friendly, affectionate, and wants to spend a lot of time with his favorite people. Paolo was returned to the rescue after his owner had to go to a retirement home. He gets along well with the other kitties here, but would benefit from a loving forever home to live out his days in peace and happiness. Paolo has been diagnosed with diabetes, but it has being treated and he is otherwise healthy and leading a normal life.  For more info, call or text DiAnna at 949-759-3646 or email at DiAnna@animalnetwork.org Paolo is being cared for by Community Animal Network, a non-profit organization founded by DiAnna Pfaff-Martin in 1996. C.A.N is a veterinary medical rescue that takes in stray cats and abandoned animals and helps rehabilitate them for life in forever homes. To donate to help cats like Paolo, use our PayPal link: www.PayPal.Me/CommunityAnimal Or Mail checks to: Community Animal Network P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA 92658 The founder of Community Animal Network, DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, is very particular about the quality of the animals, vitamins, proper diet and veterinary medical care. Feral kittens are tamed to "pet quality" and rescue cats that are shy are disclosed and termed, "rescue quality" with a lower placement fee. With all adoptions, DiAnna Pfaff-Martin gives valuable information about cat care in a one hour "feline pet-parenting consultation" to adopters. The most current information is made available about how to keep your cat healthy, pet foods, litters and how to make your cat more affectionate. The AVID microchip registration is included in the placement fee and the animals come with a 30 day heath commitment and return policy.        August 14, 2023, 12:02 am

Permanent Foster Needed for Smokey and Sunshine Smokey was surrendered by their previous owner because she couldn’t care for him anymore. Smokey was one of three cats surrendered, two of which are still at AALOC. The remaining two – Smokey and Sunshine – are inseparably bonded and must be fostered together. Smokey, a male Russian blue feline, is a very special cat. He’s very affectionate and will come to greet you when you arrive. He loves to sunbathe in the window, particularly with his best friend Sunshine. Smokey has several medical issues including liver disease, arthritis and a bone spur. He takes medication daily to alleviate his pain. As a permanent foster you would be responsible for loving and caring for Smokey and Sunshine, taking them to vet appointments and making sure they receive their medications and are comfortable. AALOC would pay for all of Smokey and Sunshine’s vet visits, grooming, food and medications. Please apply to foster Smokey and Sunshine at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Smokey and Sunshine and get to know them a bit.

Story
Taz is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. If you are interested in adopting Taz, please submit an adoption application at http://www.sgvaa.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Your adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all their health and medical needs. Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. We can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) PetSmart. SGVAA is an all-volunteer, non-profit rescue organization serving the San Gabriel Valley area. For more information on how you can help your community, please visit: www.sgvaa.org Their Adoption Process If you are interested in any of our adoptable pets or have additional questions, please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take us within 24-48 hours to respond. Our little fur babies are so adorable that sometimes we get multiple applications for one pet! So if the pet you are interested in is no longer available there is no need to worry! We have plenty of friends who are furry! As part of the adoption process, we screen each new potential owner, and do home visits to ensure that an animal and owner are a good match. Once your adoption application has been approved, we will have you fill out a Pet Promise Certificate (adoption contract) *SGVAA’s adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all of their health and welfare needs (spay, neuter, shots, deworming, flea meds, microchip) *We also provide free home delivery of your new kitty/kitties! About This Rescue SGVAA is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of pets in the San Gabriel Valley area. We encourage people to rescue a homeless animal instead of buying one. Our organization also educates the community on the importance of early vaccinations for fatal and easily preventable diseases. We also advocate spaying or neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Once an animal is in our care we vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care, fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues, and provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued animal that is not adopted. Come Meet Their Pets Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. For interested adopters, we can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) Petsmart. We also post pictures of our adorable kitties at sgvaa.org, our Facebook page and on Instagram!

Story
What a cute face! Papa was rescued as a neighborhood stray. He appears to be a Russian Blue Mix with his short dense coat with white. He has green eyes and the cutest face! He is a big boy weighing approximately 16+ pounds and his estimated date of birth is 3/13/10. He has had a vet exam and blood work reveals he is diabetic and needs insulin injections twice a day/every 12 hours. He also tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), also known as Feline AIDS. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives - in quality - in duration - and in happiness. FIV+ cats might be considered by some to be 'special needs' cats because, while they are healthy and live quite normal lives, they have tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). We now know that FIV is basically a virus whose presence has the potential to cause some weakening of a cats' immune system. It does not seem to have much impact on lifespan. We now know that this is a cat-only virus and cannot be passed to humans or to other species of animals. We have also learned that FIV does not pass to other cats through casual friendly contact. Experience, studies and the medical research community have, for numerous years now, watched positive cats live peacefully together with non-positive cats without transference. It takes a seriously deep bite wound or blood transfusion from an FIV+ cat to infect another so a typical household where cats live in harmony can blend FIV+ and FIV- cats without worry. Papa is nonassertive and nonaggressive. He gets along well with other cats. It is extremely difficult for FIV+ cats to find their forever homes, so please consider opening your home and heart to Papa. Papa is a sweet, gentle soul, very mellow and seems to get along with everything and everyone! His favorite things are to chill and hang out with you and sunning himself in the enclosed outdoor catio! He has been neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. $25 adoption fee, cash only, which is to help reimburse for a portion of expenses of cat rescue and rehabilitation. Adoption contract required. Location: Quail Valley/Menifee, Southwest Riverside County. We are looking for indoor homes for our cats and adopters who are willing and able to care for this pet for its lifetime. If interested, please email us with a little info about you, your family, your other pets, where you live, etc. and what type of cat you are looking for--indoor, outdoor, or? Thank you. Our adoption process involves meeting by appointment. We have the best interest of the animal in mind and our goal is to find a good, permanent home for each of our rescued animals. Therefore, we have the right to decline an application if we feel it is not a good match/fit or suitable home. After meeting the animal, if you want to adopt the animal and we both feel it is a good match, an application and adoption contract are completed. A convenient day/time is arranged for us to deliver the animal to its new home to do a home check (to make sure the home is safe and secure). We will give you copies of the animal's vet records including proof of spay/neuter and vaccinations and collect the adoption fee (cash only) when we deliver the animal to its new home. All our adoptions are on a trial basis because our goal is to have a successful adoption where the animal has a good permanent home for its lifetime and never ends up in a bad situation again. We ask that you give the animal a chance to adjust and settle in his new home and environment. Going to a new home with new people and a new environment is traumatic and stressful. It will take time for the animal to become comfortable around you and his/her new home. This should be a bonding period where you get to know the animal and connect with it, spend time with it and take things slow. He/she will need to get to know and trust you and learn the rules of the house and what is expected of him/her. This takes time, sometimes 2-3 weeks or more. We hold the adoption fee for one month and if the adoption is not working out, we ask that you contact us and return the animal and we will refund your adoption fee.

Story
I'm a gorgeous Russian Blue, very connected to my littermate, Irish (Tortie). We are almost 2 and half years-old. We we were rescued in a backyard by a kind soul. We have been in long term foster care and we would be thrilled to finally have a permanent home with humans who love us. We would be best with no kids under 10 and no dogs. Irish and I appreciate calm environments and love to watch birds. We are spayed, combo tested negative, microchipped and vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP. Visit me in the Adoption Center at Brea PetSmart, whenever a volunteer is present.
