Story
Calm, Sweet, Loving Distinguished Gent is a senior guy, and he has massive amounts of experience nestling next to his people on the couch and sleeping in bed with them! He is a Master Cuddler. He has a gravelly meow that is precious, and sometimes he has a grumpy face, but he is pure sweetness, through and through! He loves to curl up and chill and simply be with you. He gives gentle love bites (at some point in his life his teeth were surgically removed) and he happily purrs up a storm. In a previous life, Gent was good with kids, enjoyed other cats, and tolerated dogs. He isn’t interested in playing, though you can sometimes tempt him with a wand toy! And in his past he occasionally wore a little harness and took his human out for a stroll in the backyard, soaking up the sun and sniffing the air. Distinguished Gent has Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which means his kidneys don’t function as well as they did when he was a young whippersnapper! He must remain on a renal-supportive diet, plus may take meds and receive subcutaneous fluids. This condition is so common in older cats that APA! offers a special adoption package for them. Read more about CKD and adoption details here! https://bit.ly/2YudG90 Kidneys aside, Gent doesn’t really need much; he just wants to be near his people and soak up the love. He’s a little love sponge! He’d thrive in a quieter home with adults, young adults, and older kids who appreciate a calm, affectionate companion. If you’re the cuddly type with a soft spot for gentle kitties, Distinguished Gent would love to meet you! Contact us today to meet this gentleman cat; he is quite dapper in his gray-blue coat with his little white tail spot! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Distinguished Gent, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Shy, cautious, gorgeous Mary Darling is a beautiful blue cat with stunning golden eyes. She was found by a Good Samaritan, so we don’t know anything about her background. She’s still quite shy and cautious and mostly likes to hide in small dark places. She’s not yet ready to be pet. She is now engaging with a feather toy if you drag it along the outside of her hiding space. As long as she can remain mostly hidden, she’ll paw at it and try to grab it. Mary Darling needs a calm, patient adopter who will give her all the time she needs to realize that she is safe and loved. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Mary Darling, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Cozy, Relaxed, Beautiful Blue! George Bailey is a cool, calm, and relaxed guy! He is mostly interested in being next to you, easily lounging around. He's alright with his own company, but given the choice, he will always choose to be with you! At night, he will get all cozy under the bed covers next to you. He likes it when you talk to him while rubbing his belly, and has no problem if you want to brush his fur or clean his ears! Could he BE an easier cat?! George is a big cat, kind of like a small blue tiger! He has quite a regal air about him. When he’s not hanging out with you, he will get in a window and do some bird watching! Since he loves human company, he is looking for a home with people around more often than not! He is good with calm dogs that respect him, so wouldn’t mind a home with a nice pup. George wanted us to make sure that you know this about him: He. Loves. Food! He is the ultimate companion cat, and would do well in a variety of homes so long as there's someone around to love. He adapts well, and brings a since a peace and tranquility to your home. Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet with this fabulous boy! George has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. George can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about his care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet George Bailey, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org .

Story
Affectionate, calm, easy-going Mister Firecracker is anything but! He’s a chill sweetheart who just wants to hang out near you and purr to tell you how happy he is to be with you! He’s even happier when you pet him. He came to us as a refugee from the 2025 floods and was in a lot of pain from a leg wound and severe stomatitis. We patched him up and removed all his teeth, and now he feels SO much better! He needs to eat only wet food (pate or mousse) but needs no other special accommodation. He coexists peacefully with his foster’s cats and is totally unbothered by his dogs. He is just so grateful to be feeling good and safe in a loving foster home. All he dreams for now is a calm forever home of his own. Can you make his dream come true? If so, contact us today to arrange a meet-and-greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Mister Firecracker, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
