Story
Meet Shadow, the cutest stretcher with an adorable mug. This sweet pup is ready to start his best chapter. He'll be sure to amuse by wagging his entire body in excitement and resembling a cartoon character when he dashes off. Treats and toys make him one happy camper. Shadow is an easy going boy. While he enjoys company, he is perfectly comfortable doing his own thing. He is a little timid at first and will open up once he warms up. Could Shadow be your newest family member? Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:19At 7 years old and 53 pounds, Cappy is a handsome Shar-Pei mix with quiet confidence and charm. Currently in foster care, he’s enjoying the comforts of home while he waits for his forever family—and his foster reports he’s an excellent house guest! This sweet senior is house-trained and caught on to his routine quickly. He’ll even let you know when it’s time to go out. His favorite place? Curled up next to his humans on a comfy couch. He sleeps soundly through the night and loves a little sunbathing during the day. Cappy has arthritis, likely from an old injury, so he keeps things low-key. Gentle strolls, soft beds, and lots of love are all he needs. He’s great on leash and enjoys short “sniffaris” around the block. When it comes to other dogs, Cappy is generally calm and polite with those his size, though he might be too much for smaller pups. With slow introductions—or as your one-and-only—he’ll shine. If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion with soulful eyes and a wise, sweet spirit, Cappy could be your match. He’s ready to spend his golden years basking in love, attention, and plenty of sunshine! Story
Sweet Vir came to us after being abandoned by his family. A kind Samaritan took him in and found him a place at Lily’s. Vir is a total love and can’t get enough human affection. He loves stuffy toys and carries his toy frog, Franky, around everywhere. When people come into the room, Vir grabs Franky and proudly parades around his kennel wagging his little tail, showing off his toy. Vir has gotten along with other dogs, big and small. He walks well on leash and is very food motivated. Vir has some rear end weakness so is looking for a home where he can get regular, short walks, but spend the rest of the time as a snuggly couch potato. He is happiest when he is curled up next to his favorite people!
