Story
Meet Gus — a smart, loyal guy with a big heart and a couple of very relatable toxic traits. Gus’ toxic trait? He thinks cars are personally offending him and loud noises are absolutely his business. Because of that, city life just isn’t his vibe. What Gus really wants is a quiet suburban home, a comfy couch, and someone professionally skilled in belly rubs. Honestly, that’s the dream. Gus is low energy, super smart, and loves having his brain engaged. He already knows “sit” and enjoys learning new things, especially when treats are involved. He does well with other dogs when introductions are slow and respectful, but he’ll need a confident, experienced handler to continue helping him work through leash reactivity and big feelings out on walks. Busy city life is not Gus’s vibe. Loud streets, lots of foot traffic, and constant commotion can overwhelm him, so he’d thrive in a quieter suburban home where life moves a little slower. Gus also says “absolutely not” to cats, so a cat-free home is required. While he can do well with dog-savvy teens, Gus would prefer an adult-only home where he can enjoy consistency, structure, and a calm environment. With the right person, clear boundaries, and continued training, Gus has all the makings of an incredibly loyal, loving companion. Underneath the tough-guy act is a dog who just wants to feel safe, understood, and maybe be the little spoon occasionally. Read about what a previous foster has to say about Gus: "Gus is the definition of chill. When he's not trying his best to sit in your lap or rest his head against you, he's most likely sun bathing or bird watching. He was extremely tolerant and respectful of our large high-energy shepherd. He is crate trained and will often go in his crate on his own when bedtime comes around, as well as being very respectful of our space whenever we needed a break or were busy. He can be a bit reactive towards other dogs and cars while on leash, but this can lessen with training and someone willing to work with him. Gus would be perfect for a homebody or family who want a loyal companion to enjoy cuddle time."

A super chill dude who loves people and makes friends wherever he goes. He likes a walk around the block and to snooze on the couch with you while watching a movie. He sleeps in a bit and goes to bed early, in between he plays with stuffies and is a pleasantly goofy companion.

This cutie has a name that reflects his fun, slightly silly personality. Luffy enjoys fetching balls and he loves to share the play yard with his canine shelter buddy, Bobby.Luffy's ideal family will understand his spirited nature. Luffy can get overstimulated during play and is known to get jumpy and a bit nippy when excited. Because of this, we would not recommend young children. He will require a dedicated, experienced owner who is willing to put in the work to train him. He's a smart cookie who has so much to offer as a loving companion.Check out my latest profile video here!https://www.hsnb.org/yt-luffy-16141Luffy's adoption fee is $200 Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 69 Age: 3yrs 8mths 0wks

Story
Meet Carla. This adorable 8-month-old shepherd mix with the cutest little bear cub ears you’ve ever seen. This sweet girl came to us as a stray and is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. When she first meets new people, she can be very shy, timid, and unsure, often taking her time to build trust. But give her a little patience (and a few tasty treats!), and you’ll start to see her true personality shine. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes incredibly gentle, affectionate, and even playful. She loves to softly approach her people, lean in for pets, and will happily roll onto her side or back for some quiet affection. Watching her come out of her shell is truly something special. Because of her sensitive nature, she’s looking for an experienced home that understands shy dogs and can help continue building her confidence at her own pace. She will do best in a calm environment without young children, and will need slow, thoughtful introductions to new people, handling, and other dogs. With time, patience, and kindness, this little “bear-eared” beauty is going to blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion. If you have a soft spot for the underdog and the heart to help her grow, she just might be your perfect match ??

Story
Meet Shakira Shakira is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being around her people and gets along beautifully with other dogs. She’s the kind of companion who will happily join you for an adventure and then curl up close for some well-earned cuddle time. She rides great in the car and settles in nicely at home—enjoying playtime just as much as she loves relaxing by your side. Shakira is a great listener, eager to please, and currently building her confidence while picking up new commands along the way. She’s good with baths (a rare bonus!), great with kids, and has done well around cats. She’s even been around chickens in a coop and showed little to no interest. Shakira is an active, young pup who would thrive with a family that can give her both love and activity—whether that’s daily walks, runs, or weekend hikes. She’s the perfect mix of playful energy and loving companionship, ready to be someone’s loyal best friend. ##2244139##
