Story
Meet Barbie – The Sweetest Senior Girl Looking for Her Retirement Home! Barbie is a 12-year-old, 31 lb Shar Pei mix who may be mostly blind and partially deaf, but her heart is overflowing with love and sweetness. She’s ready to spend her golden years in a calm, loving retirement home where she can relax and be spoiled. Here’s a little about her from her foster home: Barbie is a cuddly, rolly-polly little girl who adores affection and loves being around people. She's potty trained, skilled at using the dog door, and never has accidents indoors. If the door is closed, she politely asks to go outside! She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, gently sniffing them and giving them space, and even with bossy pups, she remains calm and collected. She’s not interested in her three cats, though, just calmly ignoring them! When guests arrive, she eagerly approaches with a sparkle in her eye, inviting gentle pets before settling down at their feet. Barbie loves her walks! She’s always excited to get outside, and it’s a joy to watch her run with her little legs as fast as they’ll go. At night, she sleeps soundly, never making a sound, and enjoys cozying up in her favorite bed after a little nest-building with the blankets. Barbie thrives on routines and enjoys her peaceful days. She has a good appetite, prefers smaller meals, and is very dainty while eating. She also takes her eye drops like a champ three times a day and loves all the extra attention! Although she’s never made a sound like a bark, she’s super easy-going and loves the simple things, like bath time (which she’s a pro at), enjoying her morning cookie, and just being by your side. Barbie does have some medical needs, including eye drops and a tumor, but nothing seems to faze her. She’s a loyal, affectionate companion who would thrive in a quiet home where she can just enjoy her well-deserved retirement. If you’re interested in giving Barbie a loving, forever home to live out her golden years, please reach out to us at beourpet@gmail.com. Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereAt 7 years old and just over 53 lbs, Cappy is a handsome Shar-Pei mix who’s embracing his golden years with quiet confidence and charm. Currently in foster care, he’s enjoying the comforts of home while he waits for his forever family to find him. Cappy has been diagnosed with arthritis, likely from an old injury, so he prefers to keep things low-impact and cozy. Gentle walks, soft beds, and daily love are his favorite kind of medicine. He may move a bit slower, but he’s got so much love to give and still enjoys some light exploring and quality time with his people. When it comes to other dogs, Cappy is generally gentle and independent. He’s had polite intros with other pups his size, but may be a little too forward for smaller dogs. He’ll do best with slow introductions and respectful companions—or he might just prefer to be your one-and-only snuggle buddy. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion with soulful eyes and a wise, sweet spirit, Cappy could be your match. Come meet him and see how wonderful life can be with a mellow buddy by your side!April 22, 2025, 6:32 pm

Story
Looking for a dog with the body of a dachshund, the face of a squishy jowl model, and the heart of a cinnamon roll? Look no further, because Angel is here to bless your life with her stubby-legged cuteness. At just 10 months old, Angel has already perfected the art of lounging like a long loaf and giving side-eyes like a seasoned professional. She's affectionate, sweet, and the perfect size for a couch potato snuggle buddy. She's a little shy at first-think "polite introvert at a party"-but give her a minute and she'll be offering you her love (and probably her butt for scritches). Sudden noises and quick movements can still spook her a bit, but her resilience and willingness to trust will melt you into a puddle of "awww."Angel isn't really a fan of rowdy canine crowds, but if you've got a chill dog who minds their own business, she might just approve. She prefers polite pals who don't get all up in her personal bubble. Basically, she's got strong boundaries and we love that for her.Recently, Angel went on a field trip with her foster and absolutely stole the show. She maintained her chill, unbothered attitude, even when faced with an entire flock of pigeons! Angel was the picture of friendliness, wanting to greet every person and dog she saw. She loved exploring, sniffing, and just being out and about. Car rides, however, are still a bit of an adventure. She managed to sneek into her foster's lap (because, obviously, lap > back seat). Whoever adopts Angel is in for something truly special. She's a quirky, long, jowly, deeply lovable pup who's just waiting to add some softness (and silliness) to your life.
