Story
Meet Gus, a smart and driven dog looking for a structured home that can meet his needs and help him thrive. 🐾 Gus is medium energy and does well with other dogs when given slow, thoughtful introductions. He is leash reactive and will need continued training and guidance, so a strong, confident handler who understands dog behavior will be important for his success. Gus already knows “sit” and enjoys learning, especially when his mind is kept busy—he needs mental stimulation to stay balanced and happy. Gus does not do good in busy urban environments as he can be reactive to loud noises and cars. He would do best in a quiet suburban area with not much foot traffic or busy streets. Gus is also not good with cats, so a cat-free home is required. While he can do well with dog-savvy teens, an adult-only home is preferred to provide the calm, consistency, and structure he benefits from most. With the right handler, clear boundaries, and ongoing training, Gus has the potential to be a loyal, focused companion for someone experienced and committed to helping him be his best self. Read about what a previous foster has to say about Gus: "Gus is the definition of chill. When he's not trying his best to sit in your lap or rest his head against you, he's most likely sun bathing or bird watching. He was extremely tolerant and respectful of our large high-energy shepherd. He is crate trained and will often go in his crate on his own when bedtime comes around, as well as being very respectful of our space whenever we needed a break or were busy. He can be a bit reactive towards other dogs and cars while on leash, but this can lessen with training and someone willing to work with him. Gus would be perfect for a homebody or family who want a loyal companion to enjoy cuddle time."

Story
It is very difficult for us to do, but we have to try and rehome our affectionate, cuddly, friendly, loving, beautiful and protective Shar Pei/Frenchie mix dog. Meet Suzi, short for Suzuki. She just turned two years old in early March, is just under 60 pounds, but medium sized, has all her vaccines except her Rabies just expired (you would be responsible to get this done). She is very athletic, crate trained, and is pretty decent on leash. She has no medical issues whatsoever. She is potty trained, has extremely soft fur (due to her Shar Pei background) and loves taking baths! She is SUCH a wonderful dog, and our daughters absolutely LOVE her.We have to do this because she fights with one of our other dogs about once every 6 months. We have tried to give this relationship time, hoping that she would eventually grow out of it, but it continues to be a problem. She'd be happier in a home by herself and needs an experienced owner to take care of her. And I believe she'd be a perfect pet.

Story
Guera is a stunning Shar Pei mix with the softest expression and the most adorable tiny, flopped triangle ears you've ever seen. Those little ears perfectly frame her wrinkly forehead and soulful eyes, giving her a look that's equal parts wise and whimsical. At the shelter, Guera has been friendly with most people she meets. She enjoys companionship and wants to connect - she just prefers that connection on respectful terms. Guera can feel overwhelmed by excessive handling, but when given space and allowed to approach at her own pace, she truly shines. A gentle touch, calm presence, and affection offered when she's ready will help her blossom into a deeply loyal and loving companion. Primary Color: Blonde Weight: 58.6 Age: 3yrs 2mths 3wks

Story
Camilla is a gorgeous cream shar-pei mix and this girl landed in the shelter after being abandoned in an RV with other dogs. Cami has lived with other dogs, but we've found she would do best as an only dog or a with neutral or submissive male dogs. She is very good with people, and apparently has seen the world (or maybe US) by car/travel. Camilla is about 4 years old, is spayed and had entropion eyelid surgery and has all her vaccines and a microchip. She is about 45 pounds. She is fostering in the San Francisco area and we will post more as we learn it.May 11, 2026, 5:22 pm

Story
Smudge is a good boy that ended up with a skin condition and eyelid issues that likely landed him in the shelter. This handsome guy is just over a year old, according to our vet, and is a tad underweight at 43 pounds. Well, his new life is here. He navigated our let's office like a champ on day 1 out of the shelter, greeting strangers like friends! We are going to get him on some good food, medicated baths and are setting up neuter and eyelid entropion surgeries for him soon. In the meantime, we have learned he is super friendly, is fine around other dogs (mostly ignores them in favor of people), does get a little queasy in the car (drooling only) and is an all-around gentleman. We will post more as we learn about Smudge. He is fostering in the SF Bay greater area.May 11, 2026, 5:22 pm

Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 73 lbs. of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, with dogs who are submissive, or as an only dog. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Derek is a friendly, medium-energy guy who loves being part of the family. He gets along well with dogs and cats and really enjoys car rides, making him a versatile companion for all kinds of lifestyles and adventures. He already knows “sit” and responds well to training, though he can be jumpy when excited and may initially pull on leash, (getting out of the kennel environment…) so continued guidance and consistency will help him shine. Derek does best with slow dog introductions because he can be initially intimidated and submissive, he just needs a few minutes then he’s ready to play. He is a beautiful, soft, dilute brindle and has an athletic build, long legs and a docked tail so no getting whacked, or coffee table clearing by his tail! If you’re looking for a sociable, family-friendly dog who’s ready for fun, learning new tricks, hikes, and lots of love, Derek would be thrilled to meet you! 🐶💛
