Story
Shadow is a gentle and gorgeous four-year-old Sharpei mix with a soft white coat and an even softer heart. While he can be shy at first, especially around new people, Shadow quickly warms up and reveals his sweet, playful spirit. One of Shadow’s most endearing quirks is his signature “kangaroo hops.” When he’s excited or happy, he bounces with pure joy, turning even an ordinary greeting into a heart-melting moment. His foster describes how he lights up when they come home, leaping around the house with happiness. Shadow is both potty and crate trained, and though he’s still learning to walk confidently on a leash, he’s making steady progress. He understands simple commands like sit, down, and come, especially when there’s food involved — treats, particularly duck treats, are his greatest motivator. Once he trusts you, Shadow is very gentle when taking them. Though he doesn’t care much for toys, Shadow thrives on human connection. He's great with adults, kids, cats and other dogs. He hasn’t shown food or toy aggression, and while car rides make him nervous, his calm temperament and eagerness to please make him a wonderful companion. The ideal home for Shadow is one with a fenced in backyard, where he’ll be showered with love and patience, surrounded by people who see the joy in his quirky kangaroo hops and celebrate his gentle soul. With consistency and affection, Shadow will blossom into the devoted best friend every dog lover dreams of.

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereAt 7 years old and 65 pounds, Cappy is a handsome senior with quiet confidence and charm. He was found tied up outside the shelter with many wounds. All healed now, he's enjoying the comforts of his foster home while he waits for his forever family. His foster reports he’s an excellent house guest! This sweet boy is house-trained and caught on to his routine quickly. He’ll even let you know when it’s time to go out. His favorite place? Curled up next to his humans on a comfy couch. He sleeps soundly through the night and loves a little sunbathing during the day. Cappy has arthritis, likely from an old injury, so he keeps things low-key. Gentle strolls, soft beds, and lots of love are all he needs. He’s great on leash and enjoys short “sniffaris” around the block. When it comes to other dogs, Cappy is generally calm and polite with those his size, though he might be too much for smaller pups. With slow introductions, or as your one-and-only, he’ll shine. If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion with soulful eyes and a wise, sweet spirit, Cappy could be your match. Story
Meet Abby 🤍 Abby is a four year old English Bulldog who came to us from a high kill shelter with her three puppies. She did her job as the very best mama and now all of her babies have been adopted. It is finally Abby’s turn to find the forever home she so deeply deserves. Abby is truly the sweetest soul you will ever meet. She is a full time cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to sleep in bed with you, snuggle up on the couch, and be as close to her people as possible. She is gentle, loving, and will absolutely melt your heart every single day. She is on the lower energy side and prefers a calm, cozy lifestyle. A nice ten minute walk is perfect for her and only if it is cool outside. Abby would not do well with a high energy dog sibling as that would wear her out quickly, but she would love a mellow, easygoing canine companion. She also does great with other dogs and enjoys their company. I would keep Abby myself if I could, but I need to make space for incoming foster dogs who need help. Letting her go is not easy, but I know the right home is out there and will be so lucky to have her. Abby is truly one of a kind and will fill your home with love, cuddles, and endless sweetness. If you are interested in adopting Abby, please visit loveslegacyrescue.com and fill out an adoption application to meet her.

Story
Sweet Lila has known the hardest side of life, but she’s finally getting her chance to start over. When she was found in the shelter, it was clear she had been used for breeding and neglected for years. Her teeth were in terrible shape, her body showed signs of long-term strain, and she struggled to walk comfortably due to moderate lameness. Despite it all, Lila’s gentle heart never gave up. Now that she’s safe, Lila is soaking up every bit of kindness that comes her way. She adores soft beds, belly rubs, and being told she’s a good girl because she truly is. Her favorite moments are the quiet ones, just being near the people who love her. She’s learning that the world can be gentle, and she’s blossoming more each day. Lila doesn’t need much, just a calm, loving home where she can rest, heal, and be treated like the treasured companion she’s always deserved to be. After everything she’s endured, she’s ready for the simple joys: cozy naps, short strolls, and endless affection. If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in a dog’s life, Lila is the one. She’s waited long enough for someone to show her what love truly feels like.
