Story
Meet Gus, a smart and driven dog looking for a structured home that can meet his needs and help him thrive. 🐾 Gus is medium energy and does well with other dogs when given slow, thoughtful introductions. He is leash reactive and will need continued training and guidance, so a strong, confident handler who understands dog behavior will be important for his success. Gus already knows “sit” and enjoys learning, especially when his mind is kept busy—he needs mental stimulation to stay balanced and happy. Gus does not do good in busy urban environments as he can be reactive to loud noises and cars. He would do best in a quiet suburban area with not much foot traffic or busy streets. Gus is also not good with cats, so a cat-free home is required. While he can do well with dog-savvy teens, an adult-only home is preferred to provide the calm, consistency, and structure he benefits from most. With the right handler, clear boundaries, and ongoing training, Gus has the potential to be a loyal, focused companion for someone experienced and committed to helping him be his best self. Read about what a previous foster has to say about Gus: "Gus is the definition of chill. When he's not trying his best to sit in your lap or rest his head against you, he's most likely sun bathing or bird watching. He was extremely tolerant and respectful of our large high-energy shepherd. He is crate trained and will often go in his crate on his own when bedtime comes around, as well as being very respectful of our space whenever we needed a break or were busy. He can be a bit reactive towards other dogs and cars while on leash, but this can lessen with training and someone willing to work with him. Gus would be perfect for a homebody or family who want a loyal companion to enjoy cuddle time."

Story
Meet Abby 🤍 Abby is a four year old English Bulldog who came to us from a high kill shelter with her three puppies. She was the very best mama and now that all of her babies have found homes, it is finally Abby’s turn to be someone’s spoiled girl. Abby is the sweetest soul you will ever meet. She is a full time cuddle bug who wants to be as close to her people as possible sleeping in bed, snuggling on the couch, and following you from room to room. She is gentle, loving, and has the kind of presence that instantly makes a house feel like home. Most of the time, Abby is low energy and prefers a calm, cozy lifestyle. A short walk especially if it is cool outside is perfect for her. But do not let that fool you. Abby has the funniest bursts of zoomies and when she gets excited, she turns into a happy little bulldozer, barreling around with zero awareness of her size and all the joy in the world. It is impossible not to laugh. Abby would do best with a mellow, easygoing dog sibling, as high energy dogs can wear her out, but she does enjoy the company of other calm dogs and does great with them. She is truly the best mix of laid back cuddle buddy and occasional chaos gremlin. I would keep Abby myself if I could, but I need to make space for incoming foster dogs who need help. Letting her go is not easy, but I know the right home is out there and they are going to be incredibly lucky. Abby is one of a kind and will fill your home with love, laughter, cuddles, and endless sweetness. If you are interested in adopting Abby, please visit loveslegacyrescue.com and fill out an adoption application to meet her.

Story
Deebo is a lovable, loyal Bulldog who is looking for the right forever home where he can truly thrive. He was surrendered by his family not because of a lack of love, but because they wanted to do what was safest and best for everyone involved. Deebo is fantastic with other dogs and truly enjoys canine companionship. He plays well, goes to dog hotels regularly, and is friendly and calm when passing dogs on leash—he never barks or reacts. He would likely do very well in a home with another dog. He has also been around cats and showed little to no interest, suggesting he could be cat-friendly as well. He is house trained and crate trained and does well with a routine. Deebo is great on leash and enjoys 1–2 daily half-mile walks. He can be a bit stubborn heading out, but once he’s on his way (especially heading home), he’s happy to move along. He’s also excellent in the car and has been on road trips without any issues. Deebo has lived with children and is gentle with them, but due to his need for attention and structure, he would do best in an adult-only home. In a busy household, he can easily end up taking a back seat—and Deebo truly wants to be someone’s priority. The reason Deebo is looking for a new home is that he is very protective of his space. He can become reactive when unfamiliar people enter the home, which made his previous family concerned as their children grew older and neighborhood kids began coming and going frequently. Deebo is well managed with a crate and has worked with a trainer, but his protectiveness in the home environment remained a concern. Importantly, he is not aggressive outside the home and does well in public, on walks, and in new environments. Deebo is a good boy who wants nothing more than to please, be loved, and feel secure. His ideal home would be a calm, adult household, preferably with another dog, where visitors are limited or carefully managed and where Deebo can receive the attention, structure, and consistency he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and are experienced with dogs who need clear boundaries, Deebo may be your perfect match.

Story
Sweet Lila has known the hardest side of life, but she’s finally getting her chance to start over. When she was found in the shelter, it was clear she had been used for breeding and neglected for years. Her teeth were in terrible shape, her body showed signs of long-term strain, and she struggled to walk comfortably due to moderate lameness. Despite it all, Lila’s gentle heart never gave up. Now that she’s safe, Lila is soaking up every bit of kindness that comes her way. She adores soft beds, belly rubs, and being told she’s a good girl because she truly is. Her favorite moments are the quiet ones, just being near the people who love her. She’s learning that the world can be gentle, and she’s blossoming more each day. Lila doesn’t need much, just a calm, loving home where she can rest, heal, and be treated like the treasured companion she’s always deserved to be. After everything she’s endured, she’s ready for the simple joys: cozy naps, short strolls, and endless affection. If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in a dog’s life, Lila is the one. She’s waited long enough for someone to show her what love truly feels like.
