Story
Hi, I’m Loki. I am a one year old, cream colored Lab/Shar Pei mix, around 50 lbs. I prefer hanging with adults, so I’d be a better fit in a house without little kids. I’m a bit of a leaner … okay maybe I’m a huge leaner but I love to cuddle when you pat me. I like playing with other pups, and I really like the ladies (wink, wink). I have medium energy, so it would be great if my new family has a yard. I’m working on my manners, house and crate training. My foster mom thinks I’m really smart. I already know how to walk on a leash and LOVE car rides. Are you looking for that very special boy to join your family? I’m right here and can’t wait to meet you. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Meet Cherry, a lovable 5-year-old who is living proof that second chances are worth it! Once on the shelter`s kill list due to her emaciated condition and lack of space, Cherry has made a stunning recovery and is now a healthy 70-pound bundle of joy. Despite her size, she’s still a big puppy at heart, full of energy and affection.Cherry does great with other dogs, especially when introduced slowly, and she’s a fantastic companion who will always keep you smiling. While she’s a friendly and loving dog, she does have a strong instinct to chase smaller animals, so a cat-free home is a must.Cherry is housebroken, spayed, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, making her ready to move into her forever home.If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and devoted companion, Cherry might be the perfect match for you! Let her bring love, laughter, and a whole lot of happiness into your life. Will you be the one to give this amazing girl the loving home she truly deserves?Located in Houston, Texas. Story
Meet the marvelous Miss Maggie! This beautiful pup is a 2-year-old shar pei mix. She is fully grown at 59 pounds. This friendly and sweet girl is looking for her forever home, where she can shower a lucky family with love and get the attention she craves. Maggie has a medium to high energy level. Regular exercise in the form of play, or walks will help Maggie settle in and work of her extra energy. This spunky girl enjoys playing outside with her canine friends but also loves getting cuddled by her people. She is the best of both worlds—adventure companion and cuddle buddy!Maggie gets along well with other dogs and would be a great addition to a family with one or more active canines already in residence. Maggie sometimes gets very excited so she would do best with older children in the home. She has not met cats yet. Maggie is crate trained and working on her leash training. She is a smart pup who loves to please, so she will surely pick these skills up quickly with the patience and consistency of her new family. The added bonus is that Maggie is housetrained and ready to move in with her forever family. Although Maggie is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. If Maggie sounds like your perfect match, read below! The adoption fee for Maggie is $500. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. From Tragedy to Hope — Meet Chula Currently in Texas | Transport Available Born: Senior | &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: 61.2 lbs Special Needs: Daily thyroid meds Adoption Fee: $200 (or $300 if adopted with her best friend, Chance) Apply: www.adoggie4you.org One minute, Chula was living the dream—riding in her dad’s truck, snoozing beside his recliner, and sharing the bed with her brother. Then, everything changed. Her dad passed away unexpectedly, and for three long days, Chula stood guard beside him, confused and heartbroken. Strangers broke in, and in her fear, Chula did what any loyal dog would—tried to protect the only home she'd ever known. What followed was terrifying: a catchpole, a loud kennel, and separation from her brother, Booger. Chula's world fell apart. But her journey didn’t end there. When our team finally brought Chula and Booger to the rescue, they were deeply traumatized. For months, Chula only trusted one person—Pat—who she knew from her previous life. Slowly, she began to open up, and her healing truly began when she was introduced to Chance, another long-time resident who had also faced a tough life. Together, they brought each other back to life. Now, Chula runs and plays, walks on leash, and enjoys meeting new people—on her own terms. Her friendship with Chance has given her a second chance. Why Chula Will Steal Your Heart: Beautiful Shar Pei/Lab mix with soulful eyes House-trained and tidy—never soils her kennel Loves toys, playtime, and curling up to watch TV Gets along with other respectful dogs, especially larger ones Would thrive in a calm home with a fenced yard Needs an experienced, patient adopter who will let her bloom Takes thyroid pills twice daily (easy to manage) Chula is looking for a quiet, loving home—ideally with Chance, but she would also thrive with another friendly companion dog. She's not suited for homes with small children, cats, or tiny dogs due to her past and her cautious nature. &#226&#156&#168 Chula has spent enough time waiting. Now she’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion again—could it be you? Story
Have you ever heard on the TV, well a hoarder's house has been raided and ... animals have been seized and sent to the pound or rescue organizations in the area.... WELL, we are FROM just that kind of situation :( The good thing is we were SAVED... the bad thing is that we had to ENDURE the neglect and disgusting home. The BEST thing is we were ALL SAVED by a rescue group who REFUSED to leave even ONE behind...... 30 dogs/pups ALL AT ONCE has been taxing and motivating for the rescuers. If you watch our video, the situation was very very challenging but our rescuers worked their butts off to save us. We are almost all ready for adoption, all the pups are social and ready for their furever homes! The young adults and adults are a little more shy but have been working really hard with our rescuers to be ready for YOU!! We are a unique "breed" mix, lol. Aunts/Uncles/Parents/SIblings... all "living" together. We have Shar Pei, Scruffy dogs, Pit Bull, and maybe Spaniel mixed in there :D We are all pretty much medium sized, 20-50# and cute as HECK!! If you have ever wanted to adopt a rescued dog that NEEDS the best home, WE ARE WAITING RIGHT HERE!!! Please watch our video, empathize with us AND our rescue family and ADOPT!!!! SO SO SO MANY LIVES DEPEND ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet Atticus, a SUPER sweet and lovable ~3 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 54 lbs! This special boy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. He spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north, where he has been with his foster family for 7 months now. His foster family absolutely ADORES him and they don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet.  Atticus is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! He has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. He is also very smart and knows many commands, he is food motivated and a fast learner!  This handsome guy is a true social butterfly! He absolutely LOVES people, and he is excellent with kids. He loves vigorous pets and butt scratches, and he will happily wiggle his WHOLE body with excitement when you give him attention! He gives the best hugs and kisses and makes the cutest like piggy noises when he is happy   Atticus does well with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is dog selective and is typically not a fan of large fluffy dogs or dominant dogs. He tends to do better with dogs who are smaller than him. He does have some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to other dogs and food/treats (we always recommend feeding dogs separately regardless). He has not shown any resource guarding tendencies with people, only with other dogs. He has not been cat treated, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Atticus came to us with some reactivity to other dogs, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, with the help of K9 Rehab in Watertown, CT. He is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs. We are SO proud of the amazing progress he has made! As part of their Underdog program, K9 Rehab has generously offered continued training classes to Atticus’s adopter for FREE!  Atticus’s ideal home is one where he will be a cherished family member and given the love and attention that he so deserves. He is happiest when he is with his people, so it is important that he goes to a home where he will be welcomed on the couch and in his human’s bed - he is the perfect snuggle buddy! Additionally, we would like to see Atticus go to someone who is willing to keep up with his training to help him be the best version of himself. He is a truly wonderful dog who will absolutely thrive in the right home, and we just know that home is out there. Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2553222##

Story
Here is aces story. (as far as I know) Ace was dumped by someone who could care less about him. My friend took care of him for a few months. Those few months ace was sleeping in a mechanic shop alone at night. I ended up taking him hoping that he would get along with my other dogs. Ace is very sweet and never attacked my other dogs, but unfortunately I have large male coonhound that will now attack ace on sight. This has been very upsetting. Ace is obedient, loving, loyal, playful, energetic, but he calms down whenever you do. He takes to training extremely well and just wants to please his owner. He has a very high prey drive but I have trained him to not be as reactive while on a leash, so he wont be running towards squirrels every second. Ace is also very protective of his people. Ace is all around an amazing dog and it hurts to write this. I will only accept the perfect applicant because that is what ace deserves.
