Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Ruby and Dozer came to Last Day Dog Rescue through no fault of their own. They seem bonded, so we are going to try to keep them together. Ruby is so sweet and she loves all the attention she can get. She seems good with other friendly dogs. More to come as her foster gets to know her... Any questions email Tim at  tmb611@msn.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. April 18, 2025, 8:16 am

--FOSTER PUPDATE--Caramel Surprise A16529560 lb. spayed female, approx 7.5 years old*Adoption fee is sponsored!*I go by Carmel over here and am loving being the ultimate couch potato at my foster family's house and snoozing the day away!- I like to take things easy most of the time, but I do love a good rolling around in the grass on my back with my legs waving in the air- I also realized since I've been here, that I love being petted and can live with other dogs effortlessly (after slow and proper intros)- I don't mind my toddler human siblings, and could do well in a home with kids- I would prefer a forever home that doesn't have very many steps to go up and down as my joints sometimes get stiff and I don't get around like I use to (but hey, my mom says neither does she!)- I am very sweet and am just as content to sit by you or do my own thing- I'm potty trained, and trusted to be out of the crate when my foster parents are away because I'm such a good girl- If you are looking for a dog that is low maintenance and will keep you company for the rest of her days- I'm your gal! This pet is in a foster home! Story
She’s Sassy. Silly and Affectionate. Meet Chickpea - a small Fawn TriColored English Bulldog She was a breeder mama dog, protective and bossy. She’s done with boys dogs and dogs in general but is curious and will smell then try to dominate if allowed. She’d like a human to treat her like a princess and let her snore all day and give belly rubs, butt scratches. She is crate trained and follows routines well. She does not cue to when she needs to potty (likely a result of being an outdoor breeder dog). Due to her lack of house training and humping behavior - she would benefit from a breed experienced owner. She does not currently exhibit any allergies or medical needs. Compact size and now a healthy weight of 40 lbs. Vet guessed her to be just 4 years old, her teeth are white and no signs of aging. Heartworm treated and on prevention, vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Hoping to be in her new home by the Holidays. Chickpea could be a city girl, live in a condo or apartment - go on leashed walks for exercise, sleep in a crate to stay out of trouble and enjoy patio time with humans OR live in a home with kids and a yard - her size and love of people make her a great family dog. Chickpea does jump up to give hugs since she's short and got little legs - she gives kisses. Story
Betsy is a FUN dog who loves to be with other dogs, maternal and bouncy. She is not aggressive or bossy but does have a bark and her terrier DNA comes out when meeting new smaller dogs. She has spent most of her time with bigger dogs and enjoys being the 'shortie' of the playgroup. Betsy is not food motivated, nibbles through the day, but has managed to become a bit fluffy. 50 lb dog now, she loves car rides, water! and sunbathing. Betsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and very health - a bit fluffy as she has matured, now 4 years old. Her breed had been a guess until now! a donated DNA test revealed the classic Houston mutt mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. She is a short dog with medium double coat and a sharp mind. Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org --------------------------------------------------- Visit our Social Media to see more of our dogs! https://www.facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX History: Betsy came to another rescue with nursing puppies in June of 2023. She has been fostered with kids, other dogs and in a house/apartment. She is crate trained and loves routine - literally bounces up and down, runs outside then back into her crate to nap. She would benefit from a yard due to her energy.

Story
Meet Tonka! A good dog looking for his forever home! Tonka is a pooch with a bit more energy, he can sometimes play a bit too excitedly and should meet any dog siblings before going home. He should also be in a home without children under 5 to keep him comfortable. Here are some comments from his foster parents: `Tonka instantly opened up once we drove away, and he’s super duper sweet and gentle with his toys, his mouth, and with humans even when he’s excited! He gets along with kids and dogs so far (but we’re working on leash training because he wants to make so many friends that he pulls a lot). Potty trained (so far) and doesn’t chew on things. Not very treat motivated surprisingly but loves peanut butter and praise.` Tonka is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy!
