Story
Betsy is a FUN dog who loves to be with other dogs, maternal and bouncy. She is not aggressive or bossy but does have a bark and her terrier DNA comes out when meeting new smaller dogs. She has spent most of her time with bigger dogs and enjoys being the 'shortie' of the playgroup. Betsy is not food motivated, nibbles through the day, but has managed to become a bit fluffy. 50 lb dog now, she loves car rides, water! and sunbathing. Betsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and very health - a bit fluffy as she has matured, now 4 years old. Her breed had been a guess until now! a donated DNA test revealed the classic Houston mutt mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. She is a short dog with medium double coat and a sharp mind. She has been fostered with kids, other dogs and in a house/apartment. She is crate trained and loves routine - literally bounces up and down, runs outside then back into her crate to nap. She would benefit from a yard due to her energy.

Story
Blanche is a super sweet, gentle girl who is currently living in one of our amazing foster homes!! Here is a note from her foster:`Blanche is an 8 yo pit/lab mix that came to me as a foster 2 weeks ago. She is a delightful, sweet and tender girl that loves affection and relaxing strokes. She`s a bit shy initially but really blossoms when we go out exploring outside or in the woods...nose to the ground constantly sniffing and totally fascinated by everything going on around her. Her energy and curiosity belie her age. As she isn`t a very confident girl, she needs exposure to new things in a calm manner. She sleeps soundly through the night and does well on her own, gated in a bedroom, when I`m away from the house. She enjoys interactive play with me and chewing on her Nylabone or discovering treats in her Kong. She isn`t a morning eater and isn`t one to overeat. She gets tasty soft chews when we`re working on some commands like `come` or `quiet`. We`re still working on her loose leash walking skills but she is making so much progress!! She really loves the freedom she gets on the 25` long line when we`re exploring. This beautiful soul is hoping for a forever home in the near future. She brings joy to those around her everyday and can`t wait to snuggle with you!”Adopting from foster is easy! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now. Let lastdaydogrescue.org know if you want to meet me by filling out an application. &#226&#128&#139 &#226&#128&#139 Click here to watch a video of Pu Litter Eevee (Mom).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 5, 2025, 9:06 pm

Ollie is a young, active boy who loves to run around with other dogs. He enjoys attention from people. He gets along great with kids too. He would love an active family where ample exercise and mental stimulation will be provided. He wouldn't mind cleaning the floor under a highchair as his full-time job. He is being trained to walk on leash using a gentle leader. He is the best at it and would love to show you how well he does! He has visited our local assisted living center and just wanted to hug all of the residents and staff he met. Story
Sally has become a healthy chunk of a pittie and enjoys car rides, cuddles on the couch and being with her Doberman besties. She is playful and goofy, showing a young age (Vets guessed 3 years old). Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm treated - she is ready for adoption just in time for Fall. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- Found alone on a dock during a thunderstorm. She was underweight and her ribs could easily be seen. She was heartworm positive and her belly showed evidence of having had puppies in her past. Dogs we find abandoned in Texas are not broken, mean or undeserving just homeless. Humans have failed them. Sally trusts people and knows sit, shake and down. Sally takes her treats and meals gently with no guarding. She is playing enthusiastically with two large Dobermans who have taught her that being extra affectionate or ‘velcro’ is ok and expected at this house.

Story
Medusa would love to be the QUEEN BEE and be appreciated for the alpha she is. She is an American Bully which is a new designer breed (mislabeled English Bulldog, Pittie, Pocketpittie, MicroBully). She is guessed to be 4 years old and around 45 lbs. Short and stocky, she is a healthy and easy dog to care for unlike the other bully breeds. Medusa can be bossy and demanding of attention, jealous when humans talk to the other dogs in her foster home. She is fostered with small and big dogs, but requires correction and supervision to avoid a 'girl fight' She would do best as an only dog to keep the peace and let her enjoy a family. Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm treated/on prevention - she is ready for adoption just in time for the holidays FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. The setback caused jealousy behaviors which we are working on. Medusa sleeps in a crate when her foster family is not home, at night, she shares a pillow and snuggles in the human bed. Story
Sandra is currently living in one of our amazing foster homes! Here is a note from her foster:Sandra is a lovely girl and has been a joyful addition to our home for the last few weeks. She was comfortable as soon as she walked in. She is completely house-broken and sleeps through the night in bed with me. She loves to hang out in the backyard and chase tennis balls. She is free to roam throughout the house even when nobody is home and doesn’t get into things- she mostly sleeps. When we work from home she sleeps or plays with her toys, especially her Shaggy (from Scooby Doo) doll. She walks with a loose leash (unless she notices a squirrel which is not always the case) and happily says hi to people and dogs. Sandra takes treats, food, and medicine in peanut butter (creamy not crunchy!) gently from our hand. In the car she is well behaved, and sits and looks out the window or lies down. She is mouthy when playing but we are working on this with her. Because of the mouthiness Sandra would do better in a house without kids under 12. Adopting from foster is easy! just call the adoptions team at 734-662-5585 or email adoptions@hshv.org to set up a visit today!
