I have to rehome him because my work schedule is getting worse. I work 6 days a week and he's in his kennel for 12 to 14 hours a day normally. I just want better for him (he deserves it). Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. They came into our rescue several months ago after their owner experienced life changes and could no longer care for them. When they arrived, both girls were underweight and had never received proper veterinary care. They were heartworm positive and neither had been spayed. Thanks to the love and dedication of our rescue, Pepper and Princess are now fully up to date on vaccines and have successfully completed heartworm treatment. They’ve come such a long way and are healthier, happier, and ready for their next chapter. Personality-wise, these two are absolute gems. They are incredibly sweet, gentle, and polite — no jumping here! They do wonderfully with other dogs, puppies, and even cats. Their calm, loving nature makes them a joy to be around. Pepper and Princess are crate trained and stay in their crates when left home alone. Their crates are their cozy, safe spaces, and they settle in without any issues.
