And then there’s that tongue… let’s just say it’s long enough to make every photo a little more entertaining! Sherman is a happy-go-lucky pup who doesn’t care that he looks a little different. He’s just looking for a family who appreciates the wonderfully unique dogs, will love him for exactly who he is, and give him the good life he deserves. Ready for a meet and greet? Meet SharShar!SharShar is a 2-year-old male Chinese Shar-Pei mix with the fluffiest coat and a truly sweet, soulful nature. He is a confident, beautiful spirit who enjoys playing with his foster siblings and naturally steps into a leadership role within the pack. He likes to believe he is in charge, and honestly, he does a wonderful job. When the dogs go outside, SharShar makes sure everyone comes back in. He never leaves a pup behind.His foster, who has experience with Shar-Peis, says SharShar is hands down the most enjoyable she has ever had. He knows basic commands and will even ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. He is house trained, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines.SharShar does take time to warm up to new people. Trust is not something he gives away easily, but once you earn it, you gain one of the most loyal and devoted companions you could ask for. He forms deep bonds and loves his people wholeheartedly. He is more vocal than some dogs, but his baritone commentary is part of his charm.He enjoys being free range in the home, so leash walking will require continued work. He also needs eye gel applied every two days due to his eyelashes touching his eyes, which is a simple and manageable routine. SharShar is fascinated by children and does well with other dogs. Meet Lancel! Lancel was part of a breeder dumping situation in Big Sandy Texas. She is an almost 4 year old Shar Pei mix. Even with the trauma of being dumped Lancel is quite the character. She somehow has the energizer bunny living in her body. She wakes up to play and like most children, she tries to skip bedtime to play. She loves a good meal and she loves having others four legged friends to share a meal with. Humans, she is getting use to. She treats humans much like a cat would. Meet Powder! Skin and bones when he was found, Powder is now living large at Flying B—literally and figuratively. This boy LOVES to eat and gobbles up every meal like it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him. (And honestly, it might’ve been!) We know he’ll learn that food will always be there for him from now on. Powder is young, playful, and happiest when he’s part of the pack—running, playing, and soaking up all the love and attention. He recently lost part of his tail due to “happy tail” gone wild. We tried everything to save it, but ultimately, a little tail amputation was the best (and safest) choice.
