Meet Lancel! Lancel was part of a breeder dumping situation in Big Sandy Texas. She is an almost 4 year old Shar Pei mix. Even with the trauma of being dumped Lancel is quite the character. She somehow has the energizer bunny living in her body. She wakes up to play and like most children, she tries to skip bedtime to play. She loves a good meal and she loves having others four legged friends to share a meal with. Humans, she is getting use to. She treats humans much like a cat would. She will come over for a little petting behind the ears but when she’s done, she’s done. This beautiful character will amaze you with her quick reflexes and her desire to earn treats. You will fall in love with her. Meet SharShar!SharShar is a 2-year-old male Chinese Shar-Pei mix with the fluffiest coat and a truly sweet, soulful nature. He is a confident, beautiful spirit who enjoys playing with his foster siblings and naturally steps into a leadership role within the pack. He likes to believe he is in charge, and honestly, he does a wonderful job. When the dogs go outside, SharShar makes sure everyone comes back in. He never leaves a pup behind.His foster, who has experience with Shar-Peis, says SharShar is hands down the most enjoyable she has ever had. He knows basic commands and will even ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. He is house trained, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines.SharShar does take time to warm up to new people. Trust is not something he gives away easily, but once you earn it, you gain one of the most loyal and devoted companions you could ask for. He forms deep bonds and loves his people wholeheartedly. He is more vocal than some dogs, but his baritone commentary is part of his charm.He enjoys being free range in the home, so leash walking will require continued work. He also needs eye gel applied every two days due to his eyelashes touching his eyes, which is a simple and manageable routine. SharShar is fascinated by children and does well with other dogs. I’m the longest resident at the shelter, since February 2025. When I first arrived, I was underweighting and had a pretty bad skin infection. I’m now receiving treatment and an special diet to help me feel my very best and I’m currently in a foster home where I’m getting the love and care I deserve. I’m a very sweet, playful boy who’s ready to find a forever home that will love and take care of me. I’m mostly indifferent just a little shy around cats. Snickers needs a new home ASAP that can give him individualized love and attention. The family member he came from moved out and refused to take him or his siblings with them, and now we have too many dogs to take care of.Snickers just turned 1 year old. He is playful, energetic, and a little goofy. He is a mixed breed with a very unique body build, including having extra toes on his rear paws. He’s already fixed, vaccinated, and house-trained.He is a very sweet dog, but afraid of strangers and may act aggressive at first when meeting someone new. He gets along with all age groups in our household including a very rambunctious 2 year old, adults, teenagers, and a senior with mobility issues.We’ve tried asking friends, family, and coworkers over the past year if they could adopt him or any of his siblings but have had no luck. We’ve tried contacting animal shelters, but the only one near us that is able to accept pet surrenders told us they would have to euthanize him.
