Let me introduce you to Eddie, an interesting mixture of possibly Sharpei/lab/pit that arrived as a stray at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/29. Though he is not one of our longer-term residents, he would still be thrilled to leave the confines of his kennel and get settled into his dream home. He weighs 66 pounds, is about 2 years old and is neutered. One of our volunteers described him as a big love bug, a sweet, affectionate, happy, tail-wagging fellow. He's got a lot of personality! He loves toys and during his eval he was accumulating them from our toybox and playing with them. Eddie likes treats, will sit for them and takes them nicely. He does jump on you occasionally but not excessively. He's a happy-go-lucky fellow that is amiable and fun-loving. There's a lot to like about Eddie. He walks ok on a leash, but does have a strong pull. He may be house trained as he pottied in the yard. He would undoubtedly enjoy walks or perhaps become a good running buddy. He will need some good decompression time and separation from other family pets in order to acclimate. This is something every dog should be given. Oh, and high on the priority list of his dream home, he would like to be an integral part of the family circle. Living as an outside dog is not the dream home for any dog.

Meet Lancel! Lancel is quite the character. She somehow has the energizer bunny living in her body. She wakes up to play and like most children, she tries to skip bedtime to play. She loves a good meal and she loves having others four legged friends to share a meal with. Humans, she is getting use to. She treats humans much like a cat would. She will come over for a little petting behind the ears but when she's done, she's done. This beautiful character will amaze you with her quick reflexes and her desire to earn treats. You will fall in love with her. There's just no way you couldn't.Lancel was part of a breeder dumping situation in Big Sandy Texas. She is about 2 year old and a Shar Pei mix.
