Story
Alex is an incredibly sweet, calm, and intelligent dog who has already made great progress in a short amount of time. He is very food-motivated, which makes training both effective and enjoyable. He quickly picks up commands like “sit,” “wait,” and responds well to redirection. He has a gentle and easygoing temperament in the home. He does not counter surf, beg for food, or get into things he shouldn’t. When relaxing, he’s content to quietly lay nearby or settle in his own space. He is also very quiet! We have not heard him bark, and he only whines briefly when adjusting to new situations like the crate. He walks well with guidance and has been responsive using a no-pull harness with a double lead. He allows handling well, including having his paws wiped after walks. He also plays appropriately with other dogs and reads social cues well, knowing when to engage and when to give space. He has gotten along with dogs of all shapes and sizes! While he is still building confidence with crate time, he has shown clear improvement and does best when he feels secure and not isolated. With continued training, a properly reinforced crate setup, and a consistent routine, we believe he will continue to succeed. Crate training will be important for Alex, because he may find ways to entertain himself if he is left at home alone that might include finding things to chew on and destroy. Overall, Alex is a loving, well-mannered dog with a lot of potential. He will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the guidance and stability he needs to fully settle into his forever home. The dog adoption fee is $110. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DAPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), have been dewormed with Pyrantel, and have been treated with selamectin for fleas. Story
Meet Rocko, a 4-year-old brindle and white pit bull-type sweetheart weighing about 60 pounds and now at a healthy weight. Since arriving at the shelter underweight and lethargic, Rocko has made wonderful progress—he`s filled out nicely, his sores are healing, and he`s feeling better every day. This handsome guy has a soft expression and an even softer heart. Rocko has shown himself to be especially comfortable around women, but don`t let that fool you—he`s happy to expand his circle, particularly if you come bearing snacks. Treats are the fastest way to his heart, and once you`re in, you`re in.As he`s settled in, Rocko`s personality has really started to shine. He`s a silly, enthusiastic boy who loves getting out for walks and running around to stretch his legs. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys exploring the world with his person by his side. Rocko already knows a few basic commands, including sit, down, and shake, and he’s eager to show off his good manners—especially if there are treats involved! While toys don`t seem to be his thing, Rocko more than makes up for it with his affectionate nature—he`s a big cuddler who loves soaking up attention and being close to his people. He also seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and may appreciate having a canine friend to hang out with.Rocko is looking for a loving home where he can continue to thrive and share his sweet, goofy personality. If you`re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys adventures, snacks, and plenty of cuddle time, Rocko just might be your perfect match. The dog adoption fee is $110. Story
McBorkasaurus Rex is a three-year-old pit bull–type pup with a black-and-white coat, a growing waistline, and a personality that’s just as memorable as his name. He came to the shelter emaciated, but he’s been steadily gaining weight (currently 54 lbs)—turns out, regular meals really do the trick! These days, McBorkasaurus Rex is all about food and isn’t shy about showing it—he absolutely loves mealtime and will proudly carry his food bowl around like his most prized possession. It’s as adorable as it is hilarious. While he may be a bit nervous when first meeting new people, McBorkasaurus Rex quickly warms up and shows his friendly, sweet nature. He may not be a fan of other dogs, so he’d likely do best as the only pet where he can soak up all the attention. With continued care, patience, and plenty of snacks, this lovable goofball is well on his way to becoming a happy, healthy, and devoted companion. The dog adoption fee is $110.
