Story
Meet Ruby Anne! Ruby Anne is about 2 years old and is an absolute HAM in the best possible way. She’s incredibly social, funny, and just an all-around fantastic little dog. From the moment she wakes up until she falls asleep, her tail never stops wagging because she’s genuinely happy about everything and everyone she meets. She has the biggest goofy grin, the funniest little piggy snorts, and will adorably tap-dance for her dinner every single day. She is one of the most joyful and grateful dogs you'll ever meet. Ruby loves to cuddle and will happily "smother you with love," but she's also curious and wants to be included in everything her people are doing. Whether you're relaxing at home or heading out on an adventure, Ruby wants to be right by your side as part of the family. Ruby Anne is great with school-aged kids, other dogs, and dog-savvy cats, making her a wonderful fit for many different homes. She has shown no signs of resource guarding and enjoys both human and canine companionship. While she absolutely loves wrestling, chasing, and playing with other dogs, she does not need another dog in the home to be happy. Ruby would do wonderfully as an only dog as long as she receives regular exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to play with dog friends through walks, playdates, or daycare. She has an energetic, playful personality and loves getting out for adventures. She's still polishing her leash manners—walks are just so exciting that she can hardly contain her enthusiasm! Ruby also loves squeaky toys and, once she's worn herself out, is happiest curled up as close as possible to her people for snuggles. She's incredibly loyal and loves sleeping near her family. Ruby is very alert and observant and won't hesitate to let you know when a squirrel visits the yard or a package arrives at the door. Because she can be vocal, she would do best in a home rather than an apartment. Ruby was originally found abandoned on the side of the road with her puppies and brought to the Roswell shelter. Sadly, she ended up on the euthanasia list simply because the shelter ran out of space. Despite everything she'd been through, Ruby stood on her hind legs, trying to give kisses to anyone who walked by—hoping someone would notice her little family. Thankfully, Ruby Anne got the second chance she deserved and is now thriving in a Puget Sound foster home, patiently waiting for her forever family. The world would truly be a darker place without her joyful spirit. Ruby Anne is spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. With her loving personality, hilarious antics, and perfect size, she's ready to fill her forever home with laughter, adventure, cuddles, and endless tail wags. Ruby Anne will have a 10-day trial period with approved adopters. Adoption Fee: $500 Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2673641##

Story
Meet Russell Crowe Russell is a 6-month-old GSD/Pit mix with those classic shepherd looks and a soft, soulful personality to match. He’s expected to grow into a big, handsome boy around 80–85 lbs. Russell came from a tough start—rescued alongside his brother Joaquin from a backyard in Kitsap County where they were living in poor condition. Thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, they were brought to safety, nourished, and eventually made their way to us at NWWR. After getting the care they needed from our vet, Russell began his new chapter in a loving foster home. This sweet boy is the definition of a gentle soul. He can be a little shy at first, but give him some time, patience, and a few treats, and you’ll see his true colors shine. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly affectionate—expect soft cuddles, little kisses, and a loyal companion who just wants to be close to his person. Russell does well with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids. Because he can be a bit skittish, he’d do best with older kiddos (8+) or dog-savvy younger ones. He’s fully potty trained (with supervision), crate trained, and currently working on building confidence and leash skills—he’s still a puppy, after all, and a total blank slate ready to learn! His ideal home? A calm, patient environment with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes, plus a fully fenced yard where he can feel safe while he continues to grow and gain confidence. Russell loves squeaky toys, enjoys a good chew session, and will never turn down peanut butter. While he’s not the most adventurous guy just yet, with time, love, and trust, he just might surprise you. If Russell could write his own dating profile:“Sweet, sensitive guy seeking a forever family. I may be a little shy at first, but once I love you, I really love you. Looking for someone to share cozy moments, gentle adventures, and help me feel safe in this big world.” Russell is ready to find his person—the one who will show him that the best is yet to come. Up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heart worm negative and being neutered on 4/6 Adoption fee $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2691284##

Story
We got Trudy from the Pierce County Humane Society. When we got her she had patches of fur missing from her back from fleas. She is really sweet, cuddly and very funny. We have to rehome her because she does not get along with one of our dogs who has dementia and randomly starts growling at her. But she does really well with our other dog. She is about four years old but we are not quite sure. She has been taking training lessons at PetSmart in Gig Harbor. She knows how to sit pretty well and if you say touch she will touch her nose to your hand. She is potty trained for the most part. But when we adopted her she was not house broken. She does have a low bark that makes her sound fierce but according to our trainer that is just her voice. She is really funny dog. She likes to bound to retrieve toys. She sleeps really funny and has the best facial expressions. We are looking for someone who has a good sense of humor and is ready to fall in love. 😊
