Dog Name: Joaquin PhoenixAge: 6 monthsGender: MaleBreed: Pit Bull / German Shepherd mix (pittie looks with a shorter coat); estimated adult weight 45–50 lbs Good with dogs? YesGood with cats? Yes, with confident, dog-savvy catsGood with kids? He has met an older child and did well; respectful kids of any age should be just fine Rescue Story:Joaquin and his brother Russell were rescued from a backyard situation in Kitsap County where they were in poor condition. Joaquin had sustained a facial injury from a littermate due to food scarcity, and unfortunately, no veterinary care was provided at the time. A Good Samaritan stepped in, got them safe and fed, and connected with NWWR. After being evaluated by our vet, Joaquin headed to his foster home to begin his new life. Temperament/Personality:Joaquin is a quirky, expressive pup with a big personality and plenty to say. His unique face—often mistaken for a cleft palate—is actually the result of his past injury. Thankfully, our vets have confirmed that it does not affect him internally and won’t impact his ability to live a full, happy, and healthy life. He’s very treat-motivated, eager to learn, and makes the cutest little “gremlin” sounds when he plays. Leash Experience: In progress—he’s learning that staying close to his human is a good thingPotty Trained? Yes, though he is not left unsupervised outside of his crateCrate Trained? Yes Where does he stay when home alone? CratedWhere does he sleep? In his crate Ideal Home:Joaquin is adaptable and could thrive in many types of homes, whether as an only dog or with canine siblings—he’s been respectful and social with his foster buddies. He does have opinions and isn’t shy about sharing them, so if you’re looking for a dog with personality (and a little conversation), he’s your guy. Strengths:Adorable, smart, food-motivated, and full of personality Working On:Leash skills—he’s still a young puppy and very much a blank slate Celebrity Match:Joaquin Phoenix… just look at that face Dating Profile:“Fun, unique-looking guy seeking a forever home full of snacks, conversations, and adventure. Guaranteed laughs and loyal companionship included.” Toy Style:A true chewer and expert stuffy destroyer—but he also loves squeaky, bouncy toys, especially if they dispense treats Dream Life:“My foster wishes for a best friend to share snacks, playtime, and daily cuddles for the rest of his life.” Favorite Treat:Beef liver is a top favorite—but honestly, he’s never met a treat he didn’t love! Up to date on vaccies, microchipped, heartworm negative and being neutered in 4/6 Joaquin is in a PNW foster home waiting for his forever family Adoption fee $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2691279##

Story
Meet Ruby Anne!  Ruby Anne is about 2 years old and is an absolute HAM in the best possible way. She’s incredibly social, funny, and just an all-around fantastic little dog. From the moment she wakes to when she falls asleep, her tail never stops wagging because she’s so happy about truly everything and everyone she meets. She has the biggest goofy grin, the most hilarious piggy snorts, and will adorably tap-dance for her dinner every time without fail. She is one of the most joyous and grateful dogs imaginable. Ruby loves to cuddle and will “smother you with love”, but she’s also very curious and likes to be included in whatever her people are doing. She truly wants to be part of the family. Ruby Anne is great with school aged kids, dogs, and dog-savvy cats, making her a wonderful addition to many types of homes. She has shown no signs of resource guarding and does well with pups and humans alike. She adores playing with other dogs and we think Ruby Anne will truly thrive in a home that has an equally playful dog around both her age and size, and that will appreciate her love for wrestling and playing “tag” together. She is truly meant to be a doggie sister. Ruby Anne is also an energetic dog, and another pup will give her the outlet she needs for her exuberance. While she loves doing zoomies and romping in the yard with her dog friends, she also adores long walks! She is still working on her leash skills (she just finds walks so much fun; she can hardly contain her joy)! Ruby also really loves squeaky toys and is very happy, when tuckered out, to curl up close as possible for a cozy snuggle with her humans and dog-foster siblings. She is very loyal and loves to sleep close to her family members. Ruby Anne is currently being fostered in the Puget Sound area.  Ruby is very alert and observant, and is not shy about letting you know when there are critters outside or new noises to be heard. Because she is vocal (you’ll never miss an Amazon delivery again!) Ruby Anne is best suited for a home, not an apartment.  Ruby was originally found dumped on the road with her babies and brought into the Roswell shelter.  She found herself on the euthanasia list, simply due to lack of space. She stood on her hind legs, desperately trying to give kisses to anyone who walked by—pleading for someone to notice her little family. Thankfully, Ruby Anne got the second chance she deserved and is now safe in a Puget Sound foster home, patiently waiting for her forever family. The world would truly be a darker place without her joyful spirit in it. Ruby Anne is spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. With her amazing personality, loving nature, and perfect size, Ruby Anne is ready to bring laughter, snuggles, and nonstop tail wags to the lucky family who brings her home.  Ruby Ann will have a 10-day trial period with her approved adopters Adoption fee $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2673641##
