Story
Mystery was surrendered from an abusive household to a local humane society which we adopted her from. She is a very shy, loving, and caring dog she needs a house with space or more active people who can take her for walks. She is great with children and infants, other dogs, etc. She is a great companion but needs more than we can offer at the moment. She is 1 year and 4 months and spayed, basic training but needs someone who is willing to work with her. Very calm dog who does not bark or make much sound she likes to relax and enjoy time outside when it comes to potty time, other than that she is willing to go along with your day.

Story
Scout and Hunter are brothers who were adopted at about 4 months old from a shelter. They are now 8 years old. They are extremely kind and fun dogs. But they are also very energetic. They love nuzzling in for pets and playing "catch me if you can". They need plenty of exercise. They love walking or running, but are not very interested in fetch. They are e-collar trained to heel, sit, down, stay, and at ease. They both also have what the vet says is DLE, causing pigmentation loss in their noses, and with Scout scabbing on his nose and ears. Antibiotics and steroids were effective, but a long term solution has not been found. Unfortunately we have moved to a home with almost no yard, and now have multiple young children, and they are not getting the attention and exercise they deserve. They are very kind with our children. We love them and want them to go somewhere they can live out the second half of their life how they should. A big yard and plenty of exercise is a must. Crate trained.

Story
How this pet arrived: Zoe was brought in by a community member on June 7, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Zoe, a sweet girl with a gentle soul and a playful side waiting to shine! Zoe can be a bit shy when meeting new people or adjusting to new surroundings, so she's looking for an adopter who will give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe. Once she opens up, she is an energetic gal who enjoys car rides, chasing after toys, receiving pets and bonding with her favorite humans! Zoe may prefer to be the only pup in the home, and she'd do best without young kids. If you do have another dog, we'd love to set up a meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good match. With gentleness and understanding, Zoe will become your loving and loyal companion! Come in and ask about adopting her today! At SDHS:Zoe has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Zoe requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: White Weight: 51 Age: 2yrs 7mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Lola Bunny was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on January 1, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Lola Bunny! Lola Bunny bounced into our lives as a stray, so her backstory is a bit of a mystery. What we do know is that she's a shy little hopper who takes her time warming up. New things can be scary, but with plenty of space, soft baby talk, and maybe a treat or two, Lola starts to peek out of her shell and show her sweet side. She's looking for a quiet burrow to call home-ideally with adults or older kids (10+) who understand that good things come to those who wait. Keeping her world small and cozy while she settles in will help her feel safe and confident. If you're patient, kind, and ready to celebrate tiny victories (and big trust moments), Lola Bunny is ready to hop into your life. PS- if there a dog in the home, please bring them in to make sure everyone hops along happily! Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 50.4 Age: 1yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Dash was brought in by their previous owner on January 3rd, 2025 Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Dash - a young hero in training who's still learning that the world beyond the island can be a safe and friendly place. Like many supers just discovering their powers, Dash can be a bit cautious at first, but with patience and a calm, steady approach, his sweet and sensitive nature begins to shine. He may seem a little reserved on first meeting, but once trust is earned, you'll see the makings of a truly incredible companion. He's not walking on leash just yet, so Dash will need a fully enclosed outdoor space where he can safely potty and explore, along with a cozy, low-key spot where he can retreat and recharge between missions. Dash would do best in a home with children ages 8 and up, and all family members should be present for the meet-and-greet. With encouragement, consistency, and a little belief in his super potential, Dash is ready to become someone's everyday hero! At SDHS:Dash has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 27.4 Age: 0yrs 8mths 2wks
