Story
Meet JiYong🩷 In October 2022, JiYong came to a city shelter right before the weather became cold. Because JiYong looked underweight compared to his body size where his ribcage looked visible, we had to rescue and bring him to our center.😭 JiYong has a rounded face and short legs! He is a very cute and beautiful petite-sized white pup!😍 So far JiYong gets along well with other doggies at the center. * Because he gets sensitive during mealtime, he needs to be separated when he eats. * When he feels good, he can be a sweetie, but he nips if disturbed and forced to do something he doesn’t like.🤣

Story
Meet Longi🩷 She came to Korean City Shelter with her 2 siblings. One of them was adopted but both Longi and Rangi were still staying at the city shelter. She is a lovely pup with her log legs that stands out! She can be shy at first, but when she gets more used to people, she will come. Once she befriends people, she comes by spinning her tail when her name is called!🤣 Longi can get scared at loud voices or someone gets up too quickly and comes to touch her.😢 She doesn’t kick if someone lifts or holds her but is still scared of getting leashed! She gets along with other dogs! However, she can get scared and growl if she sees bigger dogs or dogs coming at her too boldly and quickly. Despite her growling, Longi is a mild-tempered girl who doesn’t show any aggression!💕 She has a pink colored mole on the right side of her nose and is slightly bigger than Rangi! She loves treats! Likes to eat everything!🍠 💙 Health issues records: Finished heartworm treatment

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to New York & New Jersey💟 Meet a lovely girl, KkotBun!💙 💛Health Status💛 She is missing one lower tooth and appears to have a fractured right bottom canine, but it has no bearing on her ability to eat or day-to-day activities! * Towards People: She needs some time to warm up to people. Sudden or strong movements scare her, so that she needs time to adjust and let people be at her side quietly. She's started taking treats from hands lately and opening up bit by bit. She takes treats very cautiously because she does not want to nibble on them. * Towards Dogs: She got along well with other dogs at the Adogs center. She preferred to spend time by herself in a shaded spot and take in some fresh air instead of approaching other dogs to play first. She hasn't met any in her foster home. * Separation Anxiety: She's fine being alone even when her foster family is out! * House training: She only does indoor potty as she can't go for walks yet. She's 100% with the pads, and sometimes she tries to conceal her pee or poop with her nose. * Hygiene: She waits patiently during bathing but gets a bit scared of the hairdryer noise. * Walking: She hasn't gone on walks due to the risk of getting lost. * Car Sickness: She gets a little car sick. 💌Special Notes💌 * She's quiet, calm, and independent. She becomes active when her family is out. * She's afraid of household noises like plastic bag crinkling or object falling. A calm and quiet environment would be ideal to her. * She does not mind being petted or having her paws touched but is afraid of being picked up, which may lead to nipping someone. * She eats a bit slowly due to her picky taste.

Story
**Dream is fostered with Bori in Vernon** Meet Dream🩵 He's rescued from Korean city shelter. He stays with a small dog Bory and they get along very well. Dream is a good boy who behaves gentle to small dogs and young kids!!👍👍 Dream likes people so much! He loves kisses and is wagging his tail at people a lot. *Potty Training: Prefers outdoor potty but adept with indoor pad usage too! *He is okay with the bath but scared by the hairdryer. With just a glance of eye contact, he comes to you with wagging his tail and asks you to pet him. When getting ready for bed, he is right next to you being ready for your company😊 *He might need some time to settle in. He can be anxious when the environment is changed. *He lacks outside walking experience, so he pulls the leash when he takes a walk. He needs constant walking training. *Enjoys playing with toys, especially fetch and solo play on his bed. *Not bothered by external noise; barks briefly at strangers but quickly settles. *Minimal car sickness during a 4-hour ride; not fazed by car travel. 💜 Foster's Instagram: @ggomul_3

Story
Meet Jangsoon💕 * Human Interaction : Loves everyone regardless of whether they are family members or strangers. When family members get home or call her name, she runs towards with her ears lowered much like a seal and loves to be petted. 🥰 * Compatibility with other dogs : Enjoys getting to know new dogs, and greets them. Does not get frightened by larger dogs, and follows them around to ask to play. * Separation anxiety: None! Sleeps well by herself. * Potty training: Accomplishes100% accuracy on the pad! * Hygiene : Does not mind being touched on her ear and paw, and is fine while her nails are being clipped! * Walks : So inquisitive that she is learning how to walk side by side. Is also picking up to go outdoor potty during walks. * Carsick : Appears to have mild cases of carsickness. Experiences no carsick and sleeps when she stays in her kennel. 💌 Special Note💌 * Barks on the alert at outside noises. She would become less sensitive to outside noise very fast if she received desensitization training multiple times. Since she can be easily startled by loud noises, it is advised to provide her regular training. * She is friendly toward new people and dogs, but tries to flee if another dog starts to bark or snarl at her. * She is often frightened and prone to fleeing from unforeseen situations. To ensure her safety, it is advised to use a double leash.

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)            8-year-old 30lbs Roxy, a Siba / Bali Dog mix was found in the middle of a village road in Bali, Indonesia. She was frantic. Her rescuers could smell rotting flesh and see the telltale marks of a string embedded deep in her neck. It's a common occurrence in Bali where small dogs have a string placed around their neck and they aren't touched again so it is never removed. As they grow the string becomes painfully tight around their neck causing terrible wounds. Roxy would have suffered like that for many years. Roxy was caught and taken to the vet where it was revealed she had just given birth. Her rescuers returned to the 'home' she had been living in - her living conditions were terrible. They discovered her babies had been thrown into the jungle just after their birth. The same had happened to all her other litters. It was too late to save her babies, but it wasn't too late to save Roxy. After a long stint in the vet, Roxy's physical wounds healed in her loving foster home with her foster Mama Roxy's emotional wounds healed too. Roxy is approximately 8 years old, sterilized and vaccinated and she's looking for her forever cuddle person. Roxy is now extremely sassy. She's making up for all that lost time without cuddles and just loves attention. She knows what she likes (walks, bum scratchies, her spot on the couch, cheese, cuddles, sunbathing and Netflix and chill) and she knows what she doesn’t like (being ignored and raw meat). Roxy doesn’t let any of her horrid past stop her special skill - showing everyone her very beautiful smile. She’s good with other dogs and isn't interested in chasing cats.       All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
Rocket was a rescue who came to us from Florida. She is a sweetheart and loves all people but has quite a bit of anxiety around other dogs which can lead to aggression. She loves kids but would do well in a household where she can get a lot of attention as she struggles to share the spotlight. Rocket has a very sensitive stomach and needs to be watched on walks to make sure she doesn't grab something she finds on the ground.

Story
** Current Location: in a local shelter in South Korea ** Rescue Story : Jinok was found on a street in Paju, South Korea at just two months old and taken to a high-risk shelter along with her five siblings. Right before euthanasia, they were saved by HDS Rescue, and later on, three of her siblings found their homes, while Jinok is still searching for her forever home. Jinok was lucky to have an opportunity to live in a foster home for about a year and a half from her puppyhood until Dec 2022 when she turned two. Since then, she has been living with numerous dogs in the crowded shelter, where there cannot be undivided love for her. Jinok still remembers how nice and lovely to have her home is. We hope she doesn’t forget that and gets another chance to live in a loving home again but permanently this time. Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Gentle Jinok is super friendly and full of sweetness! She thrives on love and affection, making her the perfect fit for anyone seeking a loyal and lovely fur soulmate. She would do better in a home with another furry companion. With Cats : Gentle with kitties With Dogs : She does well with other dogs. She was sent to a daycare regularly during the foster period, so she learned manners and how to socialize. With Adults/Kids : Good with adults including men / Unknown for kids Shedding : 5-7 Food Allergies : She may be a little allergic to chicken and grain according to her previous foster family, but this needs to be confirmed by a vet later. Walking Manner : Mostly gentle on a walk but gets excited about birds and other doggies. Housetrained : fully housebroken, going potty indoors (pee-pads) & outdoors whenever she was in the foster home. Bathing/Brushing : very good Separation Anxiety : She tends to have mild separation anxiety due to strong attachment to her people, so having another furry companion in a home would be beneficial for her to feel more comfortable and secure. Bark or Howl : No. Like & Dislike : One of her favorite things is just to be around her people, which is well known among the shelter staff and volunteers! Plus, she likes playing with balls! / She is not a fan of being left alone. Health : very healthy!
