Story
Pinto, shih tzu, 12 yo, 12.5 lb, male, neutered Pinto is an active 12-year-old shih tzu. He is very friendly with people and is thriving in a multi-dog household. He can use the dog door, was very well behaved at his grooming appointment. He enjoys the backyard, but will need secure fencing to keep him from exploring!  He is affectionate and playful, although he may need a little guidance in refreshing his household manners. He is a wonderful companion dog looking for his forever home. He is so cute both groomed and ungroomed that we provide both pictures :))  Adoption fee $200. To adopt please submit an application at http://sannicoladogrescue.com July 15, 2026, 12:08 am

Story
Panda  does have glaucoma and needs daily eye drops . PRANCING PANDA - This is a ...so-ugly-she's-cute little furball only wants two things: 1) to lay by your feet, and 2) to PRANCE across a grassy field!   When Panda arrived, we thought she was just a frail, blind Shih Tzu, but with a healthy diet, some love and lots of walks, she has rediscovered joy and is more tail-waggy every day. She's completely won over our hearts. Yes, Panda is mostly blind and mostly deaf, but that doesn't stop her from trying to be by your side and happily trotting along in the yard or during walks.    Panda is housebroken, quiet, docile, a great eater, a great sleeper (sleeps through the night) and is a surprisingly fantastic walker on a leash. She is indifferent to other dogs or cats and doesn't really play, but that might change with time. Panda would be perfect for a home looking for a very chill cuddle buddy with yard or park access. She would not be a playmate with kids and couldn't live an active outdoor life. She requires eye drops for her glaucoma and is mostly deaf. At first she might whine in her cage, but with time and crate training, she quickly becomes comfortable at night on her own.   If you want the joy of earning love by giving love, Panda is the galloping gal for you.  Put in an appliucation at eapl.com Her adoption fee is $375         July 21, 2026, 8:52 am

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dog  Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Mocha, and I am a sweet Shih Tzu girl who was born 8/10/18, and I weigh 9 pounds. I get along well with other dogs and love people!  If you have been waiting for a sweet Shih Tzu, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Zero is a sweet, sensitive boy who needs time to decompress and feel safe in a new home. He may be nervous at first, but once trust is built, he becomes a total cuddle bug. He loves squeaky toys and quiet companionship.Zero requires an adults-only (18+) home with an experienced owner who has supported a fearful or anxious dog before. With patience and understanding, he’ll blossom into a loyal, loving companion.

Story
I'm Rusty. I'm 13 years old, but don't let that deter you. I'm still a loving little guy. My person passed away and left me all alone, but I know they would want me to have another chapter of happiness in my life. Won't you give me that chance? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2790595##

Story
Hi. My name is Emma. I'm 8 years old and I'm a shorkie ( Shih tsu and Yorkie) I'm completely house broken, love to play, great with kids and will love you forever. I don't do well with cats though. I do however need lots of attention. I really don't like to be left alone. So please take me with you or have someone to watch me. I love car rides, going to home depot and other stores that don't mind a cute doggy. I've never had an accident in the house... I'll tell you when I need to go potty. I'm pretty easy to take care of, however, storms and fireworks scare me. My mommy and daddy work very hard, and now work almost 7 days a week. While they're working, I go to my doggy sitter til they pick me up. But now it's getting hard for them to take care of me. So please adopt me so I can live a long life with lots of love. The best part is im hypo allergenic, which means i dont shed.. at all. I'll be your best friend. Thanks for reading about me.
