Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pluto #3 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Pluto, at 5.5 years of age, is small in size yet large in personality! Once the sweet 14-pound white and black pup had settled safely inside his foster home, he demonstrated his affinity for affection, cuddling and chilling with his fosters on the couch, resting his head on them and turning over for tummy rubs. In fact, Pluto is so partial to being petted that he will nudge their hands for pets, and should they stop petting and/or rubbing his head, he’ll gently nudge them for more. Engaging eagerly and easily with his two similar-sized doggy foster friends, he also likes sharing dog beds with them, even snuggling companionably close to one in particular. As active as he is affectionate, Pluto LOVES long walks, walking excellently on leash (since he does well on 3 to 5 mile walks, he might make an ideal trail walking partner), playing fetch and playing with toys. Although initially shy with new people, if they approach him slowly, he swiftly warms up to them and avidly accepts their attention and pets. Partial to squeaker toys and those his foster friends want, Pluto will gladly share them, loves all treats, is motivated by food, love and toys, and presently knows “come,” “sit” and “stay.” Never crated and almost fully house-trained, playful Pluto will be perfect for an active and affectionate home, perhaps with an equally playful pup already there, and patient adopters who will continue his socialization, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in pets fur-ever. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $450. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! March 23, 2025, 10:25 am
