There is a very good reason why this adorable, beautiful Shih Tzu has been at the rescue for over 5 years. Geoffrey David is a special boy, who needs a special person to welcome him into their life. His behavior suggests he was abused from a very early age. When he arrived, this young boy was very untrusting and a defensive biter. After many years of receiving consistent love, care, and compassion, and watching the other dogs enjoy human attention and affection, Geoffrey David has made absolutely remarkable improvements. Geoffrey David is now happy, relaxed, and seeks out attention and petting. He has become much more animated and loves to play with toys. He also enjoys the company of other nice dogs and gets along very well in a group. Geoffrey David still does not want to be picked up, held, or go on a leash, but this will probably also change with more time. When he has reached his limits of petting, he usually lets you know with a little growl, or just walks away. Geoffrey David is about 8 1/2 years old and about 14 pounds. Mr Personality best describes our adorable Cobe. An 9 1/2 years old, 17 pounds, Shih Tzu boy, nothing keeps Cobe from loving life. Cobe was surrendered to us with one non-visual eye ( ? old injury or neglect), and one eye recent blinded by a rapid onset cataract. It was no surprise to find out Cobe has diabetes; what a shame his prior owners didn’t detect and treat him for this. He takes insulin twice daily with no problems and is doing extremely well. Potentially, he could be given sight by cataract surgery. Cobe is a very happy, well adjusted, very affectionate little guy. He loves other dogs and all people, as well as going for walks, getting belly rubs, and just sitting on your lap or being held. His love of life is contagious and endearing... all he wants is someone special to share it with. Could that special someone be you? Fuji is a gorgeous Shih Tzu who has been at the rescue for over one year, and we believe it’s his turn to find his wonderful, forever home. He is a terrific boy with a happy, fun loving nature. Fuji is very friendly and loves to spend time with people, hanging out, cuddling, and receiving belly rubs. He also loves to go for walks, and enjoys playing in the yard. Fuji is about 7 1/2 years old and about 14-15 pounds. He would do best with a single parent, who is an experienced, compassionate dog owner, who can be sensitive to his needs and not push him beyond his limits.
