You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Theo is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu mix who weighs approximately 13 pounds. He is a sweet, snuggly lap log who loves to be near his humans! He would love a family that lets him sleep with them overnight. He is a gentle soul in search of a family to love him in his retirement years. Theo is very close to being potty-trained when kept on a schedule, but he does have occasional potty accidents. He will need a family who is patient with him while he continues to build consistency with housetraining. Theo does not enjoy spending time in his kennel. He is very vocal when in there, but does well with free roam, so there is really no reason to kennel him. Theo is also vocal when there are new people in his space and he likes to alert his foster family when they have visitors. For this reason, shared walls might not be the best fit for his forever home. His fur will require regular grooming, but what handsome old man doesn't deserve a good spa day?!? Theo has luxating patellas in both of his knees. The vet does not recommend surgical intervention at this time, but it is something to watch in the future. Currently, Theo should continue taking a glucosamine supplement. History: Lotus is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! A Note from the Foster: Lotus is a gentle and kind 7-year-old Shih Tzu who was subjected to unethical breeding for her whole life. Well, no more. She is now being bathed in love and compassion. Despite lack of care, she is sweet, loves people and great with other dogs. She is an A+ snuggler and an easier keeper. She is crate-trained and working hard on house-training. This will take some time knowing she was confined to a crate for so long. If you have love to give, and patience to see her through needed training, you have found your girl. She is the sweetest pup in town.

History: Ramsey is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Ramsey is adjusting well to living with a family. He loves to play with squeaky toys. Lamb chop has become his favorite toy! He is working on potty training and is making great progress! He still wears a belly band when he is not in his kennel. Ramsey gets along well with our resident dog. He is still learning how to play gently because he gets so excited. It is unknown how he would get along with cats. Ramsey gets along well with the teens in our house. It is unknown how he would do with younger children. He is kenneled at night and when we leave the house and does well. He will whine in the middle of the night when he needs to go to the bathroom. Ramsey has really blossomed into a great dog since we have fostered him. He is looking forward to growing even more in his forever home!

A Note from the Foster: Meet Emmitt! Emmitt is a fun-loving little guy with a heart full of love to give. He’s happiest playing with any kind of ball and romping around with his two larger foster siblings. Emmitt gets along wonderfully with both small and large dogs and would truly thrive in a home with another canine companion. He’s also a total people pup — you’ll often find him right at your heels, eager to snuggle and shower you with kisses. Emmitt is working hard on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s doing great overnight and has very few accidents. Because he’s still young, he’ll also benefit from a basic obedience class (which is required for all dogs under two years old). As a Shih Tzu, Emmitt will need regular grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep his coat fluffy, clean, and soft. Like many young dogs, Emmitt is still learning the ropes of being a house pup. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him continue his potty training and manners — and to keep an eye on their belongings! He has been known to proudly parade off with a bathroom rug or two. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick and a sweet, snuggly companion to come home to, Emmitt is your guy!
