Story
Sweet Mae was found dumped on the streets of Southern Ohio with another small dog. Her background story is unknown but she was someone's pet at some point. Her foster mom says that Mae is the sweetest little foster she has ever had! The veterinarian who saw Mae also said that she's a sweetheart! Mae is very laid back and easy to get along with. She likes to get all the toys out of the toy box and put them in her bed or just leave them out. She moves the dog beds all over and it keeps her busy. She likes to be close to her people and follows her foster mom around. Mae is great with dogs, cats, people and kids. She is still working on house training. It is likely that in her previous home Mae was trained on puppy pads. Her foster mom is working on transitioning her to go potty outside. The good news is that Mae loves to go outside to lay in the grass and sunbathe! Mae's front legs look a little different but she walks fine and goes up and down stairs at her foster home, although sometimes she has some difficulties with the taller steps to the outside. Mae is estimated to be about 6-7 years old and weighs 16 lbs. Mae is believed to be a Shitzu mix, maybe with a poodle or a Bichon.Apply to meet Mae at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Mae is $200.

Story
🐻🐻 Meet Pooh Bear! 🐻Pooh Bear is an adorable 5–6-year-old, 19-pound Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix who has quickly shown us what a sweet, social little guy he really is!Pooh Bear came to Canine Collective after getting a much-needed fresh start, and he's been gaining confidence ever since. He enjoys being close to his people, happily hops into the passenger seat for a ride, and has become quite the little star at our adoption events. He's now attended several—including a very busy, noisy event with lots of people and dogs—and handled it all beautifully. He's also done great meeting kids! Back at the kennel, we're seeing that same confidence continue to grow. The little guy who was uncertain when he first arrived is now much more comfortable and ready to greet the world. At 19 pounds, Pooh Bear is a great companion size—small enough to curl up beside you but big enough for plenty of adventures. He's neutered, vetted, and ready for the best part of his fresh start: a home and family of his own. Could Pooh Bear be your guy? ❤️ Apply at caninecollective.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Esme — a precious puppy mill momma discovering the joy of being cherished Esme is a sweet puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to experience life at her own pace. After a past that didn’t always put her needs first, she’s now learning how wonderful warm blankets, gentle voices, and full tummies can be—and she’s doing a great job. This calm little lady has perfected the art of cozy naps and can usually be found snoozing in the warmest spot she can find. Esme loves treats (seriously, treats are her love language!) and has discovered that they pair quite nicely with gentle belly rubs. She does well settling into a crate, rides nicely in the car, and is slowly warming up to spending time outside, even joining the other dogs for short adventures and the occasional happy dash. Esme has a low energy level and enjoys a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. She does best when kept on a consistent routine, with the understanding that there will always be a transition period as she adjusts to a new home. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm canine companion to help guide her. As a mill momma, Esme is still learning that human touch is kind and safe. Loud noises can startle her, so a quieter home with a patient, mill-dog-experienced adopter would be ideal. She is comfortable being alone for short periods, making her a good match for someone with a relaxed or part-time schedule. Given time, patience, and lots of love, this deserving momma will continue to blossom into the sweet companion she was always meant to be. If you have a gentle heart, a warm blanket, and a little extra patience, Esme is ready to meet you. Esme’s adoption donation is $475, and she is being fostered in Cleveland area. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. She has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaningVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  September 15, 2026, 10:41 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Our Adorable Puppy Crew! Five puppies... five unique personalities... and countless reasons to fall in love! Leah, Raylin, Delia, Tate, and Trey all came to Ohio Fuzzy Pawz from the same hoarding situation. Leah was born about 10 days before the others, making her the "big sister" of the bunch. Shortly after everyone arrived safely in rescue, the other four puppies were born in foster care, where they have been loved, handled, and socialized from day one. We believe they are Shih Tzu mixes, One thing we do know is that they are absolutely adorable! These happy, well-socialized puppies have been raised in loving foster homes and are now ready to find families of their own. Although they began life together, they are now thriving in separate foster homes, where they're building confidence, learning independence, and adjusting to life with new canine companions. They're playful, curious, affectionate, and always ready for their next adventure. Because they're puppies, they're looking for families who are excited to embrace an active, puppy-filled lifestyle. Their adopters should be prepared to continue their house training, leash training, socialization, and basic manners. These little ones will thrive with plenty of playtime, daily exercise, enrichment, and interaction. We would strongly prefer that each puppy join a home with another friendly, playful dog that can continue building their confidence while providing a lifelong companion. Because each puppy has developed their own unique personality, we are listing them as a litter rather than individually. When submitting your application, please let us know if you have a preference for a male or female puppy. As we get to know your family through the application process, we'll carefully match you with the puppy whose personality, confidence level, and energy best fit your home. Adoption Fee: $750 Our puppies are adopted fully vetted for their age, including spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention, and any additional veterinary care they require prior to adoption. These puppies are being fostered in Central Ohio.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Penelope, a happy, energetic young girl who will celebrate her first birthday on October 10th! Penelope loves people and enjoys the company of other dogs. She has a joyful, enthusiastic personality and approaches life with all the excitement and curiosity you would expect from a puppy. She loves Nylabones and other durable chew toys and is always ready to play. Because of Penelope’s energy and exuberant play style, she is best suited to a home without young children. She is still learning appropriate puppy manners, including how to trade an item she has for something of higher value. She can occasionally be possessive of food or special chews around other dogs, so these items should be carefully managed while her training continues. A young, energetic companion dog is recommended, provided the dogs meet beforehand and are a good match. Penelope’s enthusiasm may be overwhelming for an older or more laid-back dog. She has been around a dog friendly cat and does well with him. Penelope requires a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and burn off her puppy energy. She is comfortable sleeping in her crate at night and resting there when her foster family is away. She also does well for the groomer and has no known medical concerns. Penelope is looking for an active, patient family that will continue helping her develop good manners while embracing her wonderfully happy puppy personality. With positive guidance, plenty of activity, and lots of love, this cheerful girl will bring fun and affection to her forever home! Penelope’s adoption donation is $750, and she is currently being fostered in the Cleveland area. She has been spayed and microchipped and is current on her rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines. She has tested negative for heartworms and is on monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog.
