Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Adora's adoption donation is $425 and she is being fostered in the Northern Ohio area.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, bordetella, dental cleaning, tested negative for heartworm and started on prevention as well as flea prevention. Adora is a spunky girl and likes to think of herself as a diva!  Adora came into rescue through no fault of her own when her owner could no longer keep her due to their ongoing health issues. Meeting Adora for the first time, she will be cautious. Once she is acclimated, she will be your best friend and shadow. Adora tends to be cautious when meeting new people and does some alert barking, but with a bit of patience and understanding, she settles comfortably. She loves to cuddle and thinks she is human sometimes. Adora will jump on any chair by a table so she doesn't miss out on any action (see pic as proof!). Adora gets along with other dogs, but is ok being an only dog. Adora walks well on a leash and enjoys her several walks a day, but she is also potty pad trained. She does not like to go/stay outside alone, but if you go out with her, she will stay with you the whole time! Due to her small, size a home with no children under the age of 12 is needed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  May 1, 2024, 4:11 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Corrina’s adoption donation is $450 and she is being fostered in Eastern Ohio.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  She has also had a dental cleaning. Corrina requires a home with a companion dog or an owner who is home a lot, as well as a secure, physically fenced yard. Corrina came into rescue as a breeder release from a puppy mill. She has made a lot of progress in rescue and she loves to play. She really enjoys the company of other dogs and her people. Corinna is definitely not your typical mill girl and has quite a bit of energy, so an active household with a companion dog of similar size and energy is needed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza vaccine, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea/tick prevention. Lulu has also had a dental cleaning. Lulu came into rescue as she was not doing well in the household situation she was in as the household was extremely active and seemed to stress Lulu out tremendously. She has made amazing progress in rescue and done well adjusting in her foster home. Lulu enjoys walks and does well with slower introductions to new friends on these walks. Once Lulu knows you are a friend, not a foe, she warms up very quickly.  Lulu definitely loves her people and always wants to know what you are doing, so she is along for the ride whether you are going to do the laundry or sitting on the couch.  Lulu does well on housetraining if kept on a schedule, but there will be a transition period in any new setting. She does best in a quieter home, so no children under the age of 12.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Wilson’s adoption donation is $525 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio.  He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. Wilson would do well with a companion dog of similar energy (he does well with larger dogs and smaller dogs) or an active home that will engage him and work to continue his progress. He is very social and loves children, adults, and other dogs! He came into rescue when his owner fell ill and could no longer care for him. He learns quickly and has made a lot of progress in rescue. Wilson is walking on a leash and is potty trained. He does well on housetraining if kept on a schedule. Wilson will need an active home to continue his progress and help him live his best life.  He has brought his current foster parents immense joy and satisfaction seeing his progress. He is very easy to fall in love with and he just likes being around his family.  Wilson loves to play and go for walks, and also loves taking naps on the couch. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bailey's adoption donation is $450, and he is being fostered in the Central Ohio area.  He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  He has also had a dental cleaning with no extractions. Bailey came into rescue through no fault of his own when his owner could no longer care for him due to health issues. Bailey was initially nervous, but has since made great progress and deserves to have a special home of his own. Bailey loves to be near his people, and generally is a laid back guy until meal times. He loves his food, but he's already lost a couple pounds, and might need to lose one or two more.  And, did we mention he likes to chase squirrels? He takes it personally when they wander into the backyard!  He walks on a leash (even sitting patiently for you to put on the harness and clip the leash) and will do business on a leash, pulling at times, but overall enjoys sniffing everything. He knows a few basic commands, but his big requirement is lap time during TV viewing and relaxing.  He will jump right up to be with you. He's done well on housetraining when kept on a schedule. Bailey would do well in a home where he'd get to walk and play regularly, and he could be an only dog, or part of a low-key pack.  He loves the outdoors, and is able to mostly politely watch the wildlife from inside. Because of his startle response, he'd do best in a home with no children.
