Story
This precious 14-year-old Shih Tzu came to us as a stray in heartbreaking condition. She is blind, and the fur around her eyes was so severely matted that it took hours of gentle, careful work just to reveal them. Despite everything she has endured, she has shown nothing but quiet strength and a gentle spirit. She suffers from severe hip dysplasia and has multiple mammary masses. Sadly, she is not a candidate for surgery due to damage to her heart and lungs from heartworms. Because of this, she has been placed on hospice care. While she is not adoptable, she is safe and cherished in a loving hospice home where she receives comfort, pain management, and all the affection she deserves. Our goal is to make her golden months—and hopefully years—as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Donations made in her honor will go directly toward her ongoing medical care, medications, and daily comfort. Thank you for helping us show her that even at the end of a hard road, love still finds her. If you would like to donate to her care, you can do so on our website: www.hhfrescue.org

Story
Meet Wilbur — a 4-year-old Shih Tzu with a permanently happy outlook and a heart that’s just grateful to be here. He was surrendered alongside his housemate Charlotte when their elderly family moved into assisted living. While the change was big, Wilbur has handled it like a champ and is simply thrilled to be included in whatever you’re doing. Wilbur is the kind of dog who believes every invitation is the best invitation. Couch time? Yes please. Walks? Absolutely. Following you from room to room just in case something fun happens? Obviously. He does great with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him a wonderfully easy addition to a variety of homes. All of Wilbur’s vetting is complete, and he’s healthy, ready, and eager to settle into his next chapter. What he’s really looking for is a loving family, a soft place to land, and someone who will keep inviting him along for life’s little moments. If you’re searching for a cheerful companion with a gentle soul and a wagging tail, Wilbur might be your perfect match. 💻 Apply to adopt at [www.hhfrescue.org](http://www.hhfrescue.org) 🐾

Story
Willow Rose is an 8-year-old, 11.5-pound Shih Tzu with a personality just as beautiful as her name. Although she cannot see the world around her, she has mastered the art of being calm, gentle, and quietly present. Her favorite pastime is snoozing the day away or curling up right beside her person on the sofa while they work. Willow is blind, and that means she needs an adopter who understands that learning a new home’s layout will take time, maybe even months. Accidents will happen until she gets her bearings, and even then she may miss the mark on occasion. If you can be patient with her, she will reward you with endless quiet companionship. She gets along well with other dogs, doesn’t try to leap off furniture since she is smart enough to know her limits, and is as low-maintenance as they come. Willow isn’t perfect; she would prefer you keep the fancy rugs rolled up, and she is not a fan of grass, but she is perfect for someone who values peace, gentleness, and the unconditional love of a little dog who just wants to be by your side. If you have the patience to help Willow navigate her world, you will discover a loyal, easygoing companion who will make your house feel like home. Story
Buttercup is a gentle, low-key senior (+10) Shih Tzu who’s all about peace, quiet, and the sedentary life. She is looking for her (chill) human with whom she can spend the remaining years of her life. She is mostly blind and deaf. She had an eye removed and mammary tumors removed. Her foster says “she’s a special Buttercup.” She is sweet and chill. She is NOT destructive or a barker. She’s independent. Her ideal day would be relaxing on the couch next to you -you’ll need to help her up as she is not a jumper either. Buttercup is easy to manage. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She is crate trained. She is also house trained as long as you stick to a consistent schedule, otherwise she’ll have an accident. She knows how to use a doggy doorbell and will nudge it with her nose to let you know she has to go out. She will also wear a diaper as long as you put it on while she is up and about. She’s great on a leash but is slow and doesn't like walks. She would rather relax by your side. She doesn’t care for toys but she loves blankets and bunching them up. She also loves to mix up where she sleeps and changes her spot every night. She is on a special diet of salmon and rice for her sensitive skin. She waits patiently for her food and even lets other dogs take their turn first. Buttercup likes treats and dental sticks. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate friend who will fill your days with quiet joy, Buttercup is ready to give you her whole heart. Her adoption fee is $100 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Story
Meet Fizzgig! Fizzgig is a 5-year-old, 16-lb Shih Tzu mix with a bright spark and an adventurous little spirit. He came to us as a stray wandering around someone’s property, so matted we could only see his tiny mouth peeking through the fur. Once he was groomed, a whole new dog emerged—curious, animated, and ready to explore the world. Fizzgig can be a little unsure in new situations, but his natural curiosity quickly takes over. With a bit of gentle encouragement, he’s eager to check everything out, wagging his tail and bouncing around as he gains confidence. He’ll thrive with someone who can guide him patiently through those initial moments of fear while celebrating his brave, excited steps forward. He’s still working on basic potty training, but he’s smart, observant, and very willing to learn—especially with positive reinforcement. If you want a fun, inquisitive, and loving dog friendly companion who just needs a kind human to cheer him on, Fizzgig might be your perfect match. Adoption fee is: $400 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable.
