Story
Meet Joey! 🐾❤️ Joey’s journey hasn’t been an easy one, but we’re hoping the hardest part of his story is behind him and the best is still to come. Joey is one of five Shih Tzus rescued from a small town north of Austin after their family was suddenly deported. Everything happened so quickly that their family had no opportunity to make arrangements for their beloved pets. The dogs were left behind outside in the yard, where a caring neighbor did their best to provide food and water. Unfortunately, with triple-digit Texas temperatures, they simply weren’t safe and desperately needed rescue. It took a village to save this little family. Thanks to the combined efforts of Orphan Annie’s Neonatal Rescue, Victoria Turner, Mina Davis, and Mini Wonders Adoptions, all five Shih Tzus made it to safety. A foster was found for their sister, while Victoria and Mina helped transport the four boys to Mini Wonders Adoptions. Now Joey is safe, cared for, and ready for the most important part of his journey—finding his forever home! 🏡 Joey is about 2 years old and is Donny’s brother. Although the boys grew up together, brotherly love only goes so far! Joey and Donny weren’t always the best of friends and occasionally got into scuffles, so we believe they will both be much happier finding separate homes where they can each receive the individual love and attention they deserve. Joey does well with other dogs, but he tends to be more comfortable with female dogs or males who have been neutered for some time. He enjoys people and is ready to discover what life is like when he has a family of his very own. Joey has already experienced more uncertainty than any little dog should. What he needs now is someone willing to give him a chance—a person who will offer him patience, security, understanding, and plenty of love. Joey can’t change his past, but the right family can completely change his future. ❤️ If you’re ready to show Joey that being part of a family means being loved, protected, and never left behind, Mini Wonders Adoptions would love to hear from you! 🐾

Story
Meet Jonathan! Jonathan is one of a group of Shih Tzu's whose lives were suddenly turned upside down when their family was deported and they were left behind. With no one to care for them, the dogs were living outside in dangerous triple-digit temperatures. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor stepped in and did everything possible to keep them safe while waiting for rescue. Through the combined efforts of Orphan Annies Neonatal Rescue, Victoria Turner, and our rescue community, Jonathan and the rest of his family were finally brought to safety. Victoria generously donated her time and energy to transport these precious pups from north of Austin all the way to San Antonio so they could have the opportunity for a better life. Now Jonathan is ready to be loved for the wonderful little dog he is—not simply one of a pack living outside, but a cherished member of his very own family. Jonathan is approximately 7 months old and weighs about 14 pounds. He is an incredibly sweet boy who loves everyone he meets and is always happy to soak up attention and affection. Jonathan is house trained, although he may have an occasional setback while adjusting to a new environment and routine. Considering everything he has been through at such a young age, he simply needs a family willing to give him a little patience, consistency, and plenty of love. This special boy has already experienced enough uncertainty. Its time for Jonathan to discover what it means to have a safe home, a soft bed, lots of snuggles, and a family who will never leave him behind. If youre ready to welcome a 14-pound little love bug into your heart and home, Jonathan may be your perfect match!

Meet Jordan! whose world was turned upside down when their family was deported and they were left behind. With nowhere else to go, the dogs were living outside in dangerous triple-digit temperatures. A caring neighbor did everything they could to keep them safe while desperately waiting for rescue to step in. Thanks to the combined efforts of Orphan Annies Neonatal Rescue, Victoria Turner, and our rescue community, Jordan and the rest of his family were finally brought to safety. Victoria graciously donated her time and energy to transport these precious pups from north of Austin all the way to San Antonio, where they could begin their new lives. Now Jordan is ready for something he has never truly had—a family who will love him for the special little dog he is, where he can live safely inside and be a cherished member of the family. Jordan is approximately 7 months old and only 10 pounds, making him the smallest of the group—but dont tell him that! What he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in personality. He is an incredibly sweet, affectionate little love bug who seems to adore everyone he meets. Jordan is house trained, although he may have an occasional setback as he adjusts to everything he has been through and learns the routine of a new home. A little patience, consistency, and lots of love will go a long way with this special boy. Jordan has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now its his turn to experience the good stuff: a soft bed, a safe home, plenty of snuggles, and a family who will love him forever. If youre ready to add a tiny 10-pound bundle of love to your family, Jordan may be the one youve been waiting for!

Donny’s story may have started with uncertainty, but we know his future can be filled with safety, happiness, and so much love. 🐾❤️ If you think you could be the one to give Donny his happily-ever-after, Mini Wonders Adoptions would love to hear from you!

Story
Quarantine Up July 16, 2026 Meet Winchester. Winchester is a sweet little guy who weighs just 14 pounds, and our veterinarian estimates he is about 8 years old. Sadly, it appears he has lived a life of neglect. He came to us from a shelter in deep South Texas missing much of his fur and looking like he had likely gone a very long time without even the most basic veterinary care. We suspect he may have spent much of his life living outside or fending for himself. The girls here at the rescue have nicknamed him “The Mountain Man” because of his rugged coloring and scruffy appearance. He also reminds me of a little old man who smoked too many cigars....he has the deepest, funniest bark that always makes us smile. Despite his difficult past, Winchester has a gentle, easygoing personality. He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue and is happiest just hanging out by your side. He isn’t asking for much—just a soft bed, a kind hand, and someone to love. More than anything, we would love to see Winchester spend his golden years in a loving home. We think he would be the perfect companion for a retired person or couple looking for a quiet, loyal friend. After everything he’s been through, he deserves to know what it’s like to be cherished, comfortable, and loved for the rest of his life. Winchester is currently located outside of San Antonio, Texas, but we may already have a transport scheduled near you. Check our website for upcoming transport dates. If you’d like to see additional videos of Winchester or learn more about him, we’re always happy to help. Winchester did test positive for Chagas but he is doing great on treatment. You can read all about Chagas on our website or by the videos below. It is nothing to be worried about.... Whether you adopt a dog from Tracy's Paws or another rescue in the south, it is importanant to know what Chagas is.... it's everyhwere down here. ❤️If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip Breed and age listings are our best guess, based on appearance. Whether you're adopting from us or anywhere in the southern states, please familiarize yourself with Chagas disease. It's endemic in the south.
