Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes, but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me, but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because I now use the litter box each and every time I need to go! So, you see, it took a little time, but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term, but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster mom's cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! I really hope you will take a chance on me because I am a really wonderful boy and I am ready to be your best friend!  Medical:  Special Diet - He is now on CD Urinary food both dry and wet. Tyson is a 4 month old snowshoe tabby who thinks there's no such thing as too many toys ! He gets along great with kids who like to play, small dogs that are polite and he seems to be more partial to having a kitty dad with whiskers. : ) He will be fully vetted (neutered + all vax, dewormers & microchip) on Jan 9, 2026. My cat is a 2-year-old boy who was adopted from a shelter. He started life with an uncertain beginning, but once I brought him home, he quickly showed what a pretty and good cat he truly is. Since then, he’s become a loving, gentle companion who brightens my home every day.

Rosie can help clear away stormy clouds and make your world is a rosier place. She can fill your world with love and playful joy if you choose her to be your beloved. She does require the company of another cat, yours or ours. 5/3/2021 Rosedale was trapped in River Oaks as part of a feral colony at a teacher’s house. Rupi is a gorgeous Siamese mix. True to her breed she is a bit stand-off-ish. You must earn her trust. She loves laying around on tables to soak up your smiles and praise. She is not a cuddle bug. I do not recommend having her around children or hyper animals. All she needs from you is food, a clean litter box and your adoration. She is quiet. Rupi has a cat friend here, Claire de Lune, whom she loves playing with. They chase each other and play hockey by swatting balls and toy mice all over the place. Born 3/11/2024 Rupi has really come out of her shell with Claire. They are ying and yang, complimenting each other nicely. Both sleep on my bed at night.
