Story
Penelope is a sweet 9 yr old cat I adopted from petsmart 7 years ago. She loves to lounge around her person and get rubs. Although a little older she still likes to play but napping/lounging is her favorite thing to do. She likes to explore outside and hunt bugs. She's well trained and likes her litter box cleaned regularly. She likes people but doesn't know how to manage little kids or other cats. She's the perfect cat for someone who has a quiet lifestyle.

Story
Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because it has been 5 whole months! and I have gone in the litter box each and every time I need to go! So you see, it took a little time but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster moms cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! I really hope you will take a chance on me because I am a really wonderful boy and I am ready to be your best friend!  Medical:  Special Diet - He is now on CD Urinary food both dry and wet. Fluoxetine - Compounded Treat Chews - ordered monthly and delivered to his home. May 5, 2024, 10:19 pm

Story
Meet Anderson and Merry a Pair of Lynx Point Siamese kitties. They came to Saving Hope as part of a trap, neuter, release (TNR) program but we couldn't let them go back to the streets with their beautiful coats, the light colors are too dangerous to be spotted by predators. This bonded duo has really come a long way in the time that their foster mom has had them. Anderson has learned to love human companionship. He loves pets and rubs! He has a tendency to politely swat you when he's first learning to trust but once he trusts you, he accepts all the love. He makes a great nap snuggler and is wonderful with other cats and calm dogs. Merry is a little more reserved than Anderson. She's really good about providing company at a distance. She will gladly take treats from you but really prefers to not be petted. When she's extra sleepy, her foster mom will sneak in a few pets and she's okay with that. With time and patience, she could really learn what real love is like. She also does wonderful with other nice cats and ignores dogs. Both of these kitties are litter trained and have a clean bill of health- fully vetted. An ideal family for this pair would be one with adults only, who are patient, and will give the time that they need to gain trust in other humans. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. We cannot reply to all inquiries, but respond to all no obligation applications. Fill out an application at https://webportalapp.com/sp/login/savinghopeanimalrescue-catapplicationportal It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. Fee is $300 which includes vaccinations, combo testing, spay/neuter and microchip.
