Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 110 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up-to-date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides. Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. If you are inquiring from a Gmail address. It is best to use our Gmail address or you might have to look for us in your spam.

PLEASE CALL AMBLER DOG RESCUE 267-471-3000 - SCOTTY RESCUE SEE MY DAILY ACTIVITY AT https://www.facebook.com/ambler.dog.rescue Pupper Girl is a 10-month-old Australian Shepherd whose presence feels like a small miracle stitched into everyday life. Her coat shimmers with the hues of early morning light, and in her eyes lives a spark that suggests she understands far more than she lets on—an ancient wisdom wrapped in puppy wonder. Playful as the day is long, she greets each sunrise with the enthusiasm of a creature who believes the world was made just for her to explore. She bounds through grass like a brushstroke of color, swift and joyful, her paws drumming tiny rhythms across the earth. Sticks become enchanted scepters, shadows turn into dance partners, and every gust of wind is an invitation to chase the impossible. But Pupper Girl is more than motion—she is a feeling. In quiet moments, she curls herself gently into the curve of your legs, offering warmth with the reverence of a loyal guardian. Her heartbeat softens the corners of the world, reminding you that peace can be found in something as simple as a pup choosing your side as her favorite place to rest. She is clever, quick to learn, and eager to please, yet her mischief—soft and innocent—adds its own charm to her growing legend. A stolen sock becomes a tale to tell; a tilted head becomes a question mark painted in fur. Pupper Girl is wonder stitched into muscle and motion, devotion hidden beneath a tumble of playful energy. She is the laughter that shakes loose after long days, the comfort waiting at the doorway, the spark that makes an ordinary morning feel like a celebration. To love her is to understand that some souls—no matter how young—carry the wide, wild sky inside them. And Pupper Girl, beautiful and bright, is one of those rare souls indeed. NO EMAIL. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey all, I'm Sheila, a 60# gal 3 years old thought to be an Anatolian Shepherd mix of something! Left at my disabled 'Grandma's House' by owners, Grandma had no way to care for me correctly. After a few months of trying, she turned me into a shelter in WV. Unfortunately Grandma didn't know it was a High Kill Shelter. YIKES! Double YIKES!! Fortunately, word went out far and wide, SAVE SHEILA, SAVE SHEILA! Cries were heard and I'm now in a loving foster home in Dillsburg.Got other doggie friends here to show me the ropes and I'm doing fine per foster mom/dad. I'm true to my 'possible' breed in temperment being good with other dogs, people, children (not toddlers as my 'Zest for Life' does get the better of me. I am smart as a whip already know sit, down, give both paws, am crate trained & house trained, with a little stubborn streak thrown in for good measures! Mom is teaching me Patients, Sit and Wait before going out the door. :) NO Way am I going to be protective. So far I've shown only friendliness, kiss giving and a 'Lets Party Attitude' to new people. Leash walking is still work in progress, I pull some. Mom hopes this will improve with her training. I do need a fair amount of exercise. A dog park would be great or another buddy dog for romping. My recall is a work in progress as well. Physical Fence/Underground Fence at this point but with Treats, mom is working on recall so that may change. I am VERY FOOD MOTIVATED! Life is short and the New Year is coming. Maybe we can Start the New Year with a BANG Together!  Interested in meeting me?  Complete an on-line application at www.CastawayCritters.org/adopt.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2025, 9:41 pm

Story
ABOUT MINOS This big boy is a 4-year-old shepherd mix, weighing roughly 90 lbs. Minos came to HAP from San Antonio, Texas, following the devastating floods. While we aren't too sure of his past, Minos is definitely a more lowkey pup. He has a quiet confidence and a strong sense of independence. He enjoys doing his own thing and prefers to take his time when getting to know new people. Once he gets to know you and feels comfortable, Minos shows his affectionate side. He would thrive in a home that respects his need for personal space and understands that not every dog wants constant attention. Minos enjoys calm walks, lounging in cozy spots, and observing the world around him. He’s the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a more low-key, respectful relationship with their dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion who values independence just like you do, Minos might be your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
