Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Karma found her way to Its the Pits in April 2023 after a good Samaritan found her in need of emergency medical care, abandoned in a crate on the side of the road. Karma is now in great health, and as one of our longest rescue residents, we’d love to find her perfect person or family match in a forever home. Karma is small and sturdy and pretty active around the house and would need a home with a yard. Her tail never stops wagging when she’s prancing around, and foster Mom says she’s the happiest pup on the planet!! Karma love-love-loooves her toys, balls are an absolute favorite, and if you're up for watching movies in the evenings, she’s happy to sit on the sofa and join you! Karma is not real confident around new things, so a busy household is not her thing. She requires a patient owner to help reassure her and continue to build on the progress we’ve made over the last few years. Walks in busy neighborhoods can be overwhelming, so a quiet home with a yard and with someone who has prior experience with shy dogs would be a bonus! Once Karma is encouraged in a positive way, and something becomes familiar, she does great! Karma would do best in a home, with someone who is also a bit of a homebody and not gone for long periods during the day. Karma is crate trained, house broken (she’s never had an accident in her foster home). Karma sits for treats – and has a great eye to catch a treat with a gentle toss. When it’s time to call it a night, Karma will happily trot to the bedroom and enjoy sleeping in your bed if you’ll let her. She sleeps quietly through the night, not making a peep or stirring at all. Karma has some dietary considerations and would love to find a home who understands a raw-feeding plan, or is willing to spend the time researching and/or being educated on a raw food diet.    Please consider sponsoring Karma with either a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation. Your donation will help It's The Pits with day-to-day care, including food, vaccinations, flea treatment, treats and toys. Click on the Sponsor This Pet link above to make your donation today. Meet Story! DOB: July 2022Weight: 45lbsDisposition: Affectionate, Easygoing, Devoted🌟 The OverviewStory's name couldn't be more fitting. She's survived hardships we'll never fully know, but she's ready for a brand-new chapter.Story narrowly escaped euthanasia alongside her best friend, Fable, after one compassionate volunteer refused to separate them. From the moment they left the shelter, it's been obvious these girls lean on each other for comfort, confidence, and companionship.Story wears a few scars from her past, but you'd never know it from her sweet, loving personality. She's gentle, incredibly affectionate, and happiest when she's close to the people and dogs she loves.❤️ Why You'll Fall in Love with HerA Heart Full of Love: Story is the kind of dog who simply wants to be close. She has an easygoing personality and enjoys soaking up affection.Dog-Friendly: She's wonderful with other dogs and especially devoted to her lifelong best friend, Fable. The Definition of Resilience: Whatever challenges she's faced haven't taken away her ability to trust, love, and greet each day with hope.🏡 The Ideal HomeStory would do well in almost any loving home that can offer consistency, affection, and plenty of cozy places to relax. She isn't looking for perfection—just a family willing to give her the stability she deserves.Story and Fable share an extraordinary bond, and they're looking for a forever home together.
