Story
Ruby is named Ruby because Scaredy-cat is just a stupid name. She is sweet and gentle until something scares her, then she jumps. She’s good on a leash until something startles her, then she pulls…. And she’s strong. She’s a beautiful girl. Loving and gentle, loves attention but hates excitement. She’s not a guard dog, she’ll hide behind you in the threat of great danger, or if a butterfly scares her. Quiet, soft, and sweet Ruby, she wants to be right at your feet. This dog is sheltered in a foster based, nonprofit rescue. The Adoption Fee ($225 local, $525 transport) Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Rugby is a happy-go-lucky little guy with an infectious zest for life. Whether it’s playing with a dog, engaging with people or going for a long hike, Rugby is ready, willing and able. He will be greatly suited for a high energy household and an active lifestyle.   APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  41 lbs. ESTIMATED DOB:  12/22/2020 GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS:  selective GOOD WITH KIDS:  no GOOD WITH CATS:  no REQUIRES A FENCE:   ACTIVITY LEVEL:  high energy LIKES TO VOCALIZE:   SPECIAL NEEDS:   BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED:   APPROPRIATE PLACEMENT FOR 1ST TIME DOG OWNER?  no FREE OBEDIENCE TRAINING IS OFFERED WITH ALL DOG ADOPTIONS &#226&#128&#139Please note that we are often asked if dogs are "house trained".  The dogs are in fact living in a kennel environment during their time with us.  Even if they have previously lived in a home and been trained - the stress of the change and the new home can sometimes cause regression and require some additional training.  We feel that it's best for all adopters to be prepared for this possibility. Visit our adoption page for details about our process, and to fill out an adoption application.  All animals come spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped.  If the animals age or health prevents any of these from being completed prior to adoption a voucher is issued for the services to be performed.  If you have any questions about the animal, or our adoption process, please email adopt@littleguild.org.  The Little Guild is a 501c(3) federally recognized non-profit organization devoted to saving the lives of homeless pets.  May 13, 2024, 1:52 pm
