Story
Meet Cowboy Cowboy is a sweet, gentle boy looking for his forever home. He was found and later surrendered by his owner, and since then he has shown us just how wonderful he is. He gets along great with our two huskies and would do well in a home with other dogs. He walks nicely on a leash, is fully house-trained, and is really obedient, always listening well and eager to please. Cowboy is a true sweetheart who loves to be petted and will happily soak up all the attention you can give him, yet he is calm enough to settle in and stay still by your side. He would make a loyal, easygoing companion for a family, a couple, or a single adopter. If Cowboy has stolen your heart, reach out today to learn more about bringing him home.

Story
Dante Breed: Staffy/Labrador Retriever Mix (best guess) Age: 2 years Sex: Male Location: Fostered in Texas (Transport available to approved adopters) Dante is the definition of a best friend. This handsome all-black Staffy/Lab mix has never met a stranger—he loves people of all ages, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. Dante’s rescue story began when Belle’s Buds Rescue founder Tammy spotted him wandering near a busy road in rural Pattison, Texas. She called out to him, and instead of running away, Dante came bounding right over with a wagging tail, ready to trust. That sweet moment changed his life. Now thriving in foster care, Dante has shown everyone just how special he is. His foster describes him as a “big lover of all beings” who melts into anyone willing to give him attention. He loves belly rubs, enjoys wrestling and playing with other dogs, walks beautifully on a leash, and is always up for an adventure—even riding around in the Can-Am! At home, he’s content to relax at your feet, soaking up every minute with his family. Dante is wonderful with children and has a goofy, playful personality that keeps everyone smiling. His foster says he reminds them of Dante from Disney’s Coco—loyal, silly, and full of heart. His ideal home would have another playful dog companion and a family ready to include him in everyday life. Whether you’re going for a walk, spending time in the yard, or relaxing on the couch, Dante simply wants to be by your side. Like many black dogs, Dante may be overlooked because of Black Dog Syndrome, but those who take the time to meet him quickly discover an affectionate, loyal companion who is ready to love his forever family with his whole heart. Currently fostered in Texas. Transport is available to approved adopters throughout many areas. Could Dante be the loyal companion you’ve been looking for? Apply today to meet this wonderful boy. ##2513655##

Story
Lori is a very loving and affectionate 2 years old mutt, who belonged to a young woman who could not keep her as she moved into the dorms. Lori is super sweet, and lived with dogs, and children, and got along famously with all. She has never met a stranger. In her daycare, Lori is known as the shining star. Everyone loves her and she plays well with both small breed and large breed pups. She absolutely loves it and so do they. Lori enjoys being petted, and is very obedient. She will not hesitate giving kisses and has a lot of love to share with her forever family. Lori's best friend at foster home, also named Lori, and the two of them are inseparable and play all the time. Lori is great with everyone, humans and animals. She should go to a home with a second young dog, or must have active parents. If you are to looking to add a friendly dog to your family, Lori is the perfect member. Lori is currently being fostered in Houston, and can travel to anywhere in the States or even Canada to the right home. Yards must be fully and adequately fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept invisible or underground fences. Lori's adoption fee of $400 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, GPS tracker, Harness, leash and a high quality nylon Martingale collar. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
You do not need a pygmy hippo. You need Moo Deng. Moo Deng is short, wide, mighty, and approximately 60 pounds of pure personality. She is built low to the ground, shaped a little like a coffee table, and somehow manages to be both powerful and completely ridiculous in the best possible way. She’s about 3–4 years old, heartworm negative, loves people, and did beautifully meeting dog after dog during our shelter pull. She is social, confident, funny, and extremely easy to adore. And then there is the ball. Moo Deng loves playing ball more than just about anything in the world. The good news is that she is not one of those Labrador types who will make you throw it until your shoulder requires medical attention. She plays hard, has a blast, and then is perfectly content to clock out and resume her other favorite activity: hanging out with her people. She likes other dogs, too, and has several friends she gets to play with at boarding. Unfortunately, because she is in boarding, those playdates are sporadic. There are only so many opportunities for her to get out, play, and simply enjoy being a dog. And Moo Deng really enjoys being a dog. She is a rough-and-tumble player, so she would likely love a canine friend who appreciates the same kind of enthusiastic play and can comfortably match her style. She is not looking for a delicate little wallflower. Think less afternoon tea, more friendly backyard wrestling match followed by a mutual collapse on the floor. That is also why we would love to get her into a foster home. Boarding keeps her safe, but it cannot give her the regular walks, ball games, playtime, routine, human companionship, and couch lounging that a home can. Her wish list is pretty reasonable: a ball, some room to play, people who think her ridiculous little body is as fabulous as we do, and perhaps a dog buddy who can appreciate a good romp. Scout’s Honor covers all expenses associated with fostering as needed. You provide the home and a little of your time. Moo Deng will handle the entertainment. Apply to foster or adopt Miss Moo Deng at www.scoutshonor.org. Please share her, too. Somewhere out there is someone whose life is missing a short, wide, ball-loving house hippo. We just need to find them.October 4, 2026, 9:05 pm

Story
I found her in the grass tanning on a busy main street. I was unable to find her original owner. She is now spayed, microchipped, has all of her core vaccines, heartworm negative, Proheart injection for the year. She was diagnosed with Cushings disease. So she takes the Trilostane pill ($86.52 a month) daily. We put the pill in Vienna sausage because she’s too smart. She’s very beautiful, sweet & playful. But she can be chill too and just sleep. We have a doggy door so she goes outside to do her business & does not use it inside when the doors are closed at night. Only destroys toys not furniture. Sits for treats. Loves to go on walks & runs. We are working on leash training. She’ll get the zoomies & runs around funny. She gets along great with my pitbull lab mix & is good with my chihuahua mix. The chihuahua tries to bully Eva. Eva thinks she’s playing & will run away from the chihuahua. She also needs the cytopoint injection every 3 months for her allergies.
