Story
10 weeks old puppy Twix is the drama queen of the group. She is such a super adorable girl. Check out the hilarious video of the puppies running with their mom and her falling down. Twix and her 8 siblings were born on the streets of Texas to a sweet mama Penny who raised them under a trailer, whose owner was feeding them. When they got a little older and started running on the streets and were at risk of being runover, the owner contacted our rescue. Twix and her siblings are very smart, easy going, and medium energy puppies, who deserve to find the best homes. They are playful but not hyperactive. They can be an only child, or have siblings. They are good with dogs, cats, kids, people, everyone. Twix was born around the first week of September and will grow up to be a medium size pup. Their mom is only 40 lb. Twix is current on his shots, and is microchipped and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventative. As with all our pups and kitties, she will get fixed before he goes to his forever home. This family is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Their adoption fee includes their vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and leash. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, must be adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. Meet Princess! She’s a sweet, loving dog with tons of potential, just waiting for someone to spend a little time with her. Princess is super smart and has a playful side, though her “love language” is a bit exuberant – she’ll shower you with affection by jumping all over you (she's working on that, and doing really well!). She's great on walks when she's alone, though she tends to take charge when walking with other dogs, loving to be in the lead. She is a princess, after all! Princess is calm and friendly with other dogs and wouldn’t mind sharing her space with a playmate, though she’d be just as happy to be the center of attention. She’s a belly rub enthusiast and absolutely loves getting pampered. With her love of food, Princess is a quick learner, especially when treats are involved. She’s protective of her people but warms up quickly when approached gently by new friends. This clever girl has a knack for figuring things out – from opening lever doors and dog food bins to swiping food from the kitchen trash. Everyone she meets is a new friend! Personality: Ivy is such a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle, give hugs, and be close to her people. She is very energetic and loves playing fetch and tug, but running around outside with her doggie friends is her absolute favorite activity. She loves everyone she meets, and she's just happy to be included. Due to her high energy level, she would do best in an active household or a home with a large fenced-in yard. She is young and still working on leash and crate manners, but she's a quick learner and eager to please. Background: Ivy was dumped in the parking lot of a vet clinic, and one of the staff there took her in as a foster. When she was found, she was underweight; covered in fleas, cuts, and scrapes; and was heartworm positive. Lucky for her, the vet clinic got her all fixed up! She was cleaned up, spayed, provided with fast kill heartworm treatment. Now she is officially heartworm free and ready for her forever home!
