Story
Boomer is glad to see you! We don't want to give him up, however the wife's health is no longer up to the task. He's a very happy dog. He's 2 years old we've had him his whole life. He's very loving and cuddly. Still needs hard toys as opposed to anything soft to chew on cuz he just rips soft toys to shreds. He's good with other animals. For example my son's chinchilla and has stayed at my brother's with their dog and cats. He knows how to smell instead of lick something. House trained. Loves walks and hikes. Very well trained for 2 years old. He's a good boy. I hope you can be a good parent to him.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:1Okra is a 1-year-old, 59-pound poodle mix with a personality that shines. She’s smart, gentle, affectionate, energetic, and absolutely irresistible. With her floppy ears and adorable face, she oozes total doodly charm! She knows basic cues like sit and paw, takes treats gently, and loves squeaky toys almost as much as she loves cuddles. Okra walks beautifully on leash, though she may bark at other dogs. She can be a little nervous around them, and is still learning how best to interact. She might thrive as a solo pup, or perhaps with a well-matched canine friend.  This sweet girl is full of fun and love. Okra is ready to find a home where she can be adored and cherished!         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (@oaklandanimalservices) January 7, 2026, 2:09 am

Story
Mabel is a Standard Poodle with a gentle heart. Initially shy, she thrives with a patient adopter who approaches calmly and allows her time to adjust to new surroundings. Once comfortable, her affectionate nature shines—she’s motivated by your praise and loves to learn, picking up new cues with impressive speed. She carries herself with a soft, careful mouth, embodying her sweet and sensitive spirit. Mabel would flourish in a peaceful home where she can become the devoted and elegant pup we know she can become. Since Mabel tends to be on the skittish and shy side we think she would do best in an adult only home or a single person house. She would prefer a quiet house that does not have people coming in and out frequently. If you can offer a quiet haven and steady kindness, you'll be rewarded with the deep loyalty and bright mind of this truly special dog. Could your home be the place where this Mabel blossoms?

Story
Ollie's story starts heartbreakingly, but we hope his next chapter will be wonderful. This sweet boy was found abandoned on the side of a busy road, left alone in a crate during a bitter cold spell. When he arrived, he was shivering, and his coat was matted so heavily that it was causing him significant pain. It was a clear sign that he had been neglected for a long time. Based on the condition of his teeth, we estimate this little guy is about 4 to 5 years old. The first thing we did was give him a full, relieving groom, allowing his sweet personality to shine through without the burden of his painful past. Now, this small, bob-tail, 11-pound companion is ready to leave the cold behind and snuggle into a loving, attentive home. Ollie is looking for a devoted family that understands the importance of consistent care. His new owner must be diligent with regular grooming to ensure he never has to experience that kind of discomfort again. Despite everything, Ollie is gentle and has so much love to give. We have had a thorough vet check and he has luxating patella in his rear legs. It is not severe, but will need to be monitored as he ages and he will likely need arthritis meds. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. The adoption fee to bring this resilient little dog into your life is $300. Please apply for Ollie today! Story
Bullet  is a calm, sweet pup. He loves his people and warms up very quickly. He is happy to jump on the couch and cuddle. He is not hyper, but he still likes to play with toys every once in a while.  Energy Level?  Low energy but not a lazy bum.   House trained?  Yes Describe how they are on a leash?  Great on leash.  Describe how they are with other dogs?  Happy to hang out with other dogs, but doesn't usually play with them; happy to coexist with dogs. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Doesn't seem reactive to other animals  Commands they know?  Knows shake, maybe wait or sit What are their favorite things?  Going on walks and cuddling. What do they need to work on? He gets excited and barks at new people who enter the house, but he quickly calms down and loves everyone. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  He might whine a little and cry, but stops eventually and is fine being home alone. Where do they sleep?  He sleeps in a dog bed but would love to cuddle with you on the bed. What is their ideal home?  Bullet would be great for a family that is home a lot but wants to keep him active on his daily walks. He is very low maintenance and chill, and he loves everyone he meets. He bonds with females very quickly, but he likes men too. He did great on a long road trip, so he's great for someone who travels with him, too. Whoever adopts him is going to have the most perfect little boy! Bullet is 10 years old and 8.5 pounds. Our Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online application:   www.everypetsdream.org/adopt  and  we will have everything we need to know to call you back and set up an appointment.  Follow us:  Facebook  and  Instagram      January 3, 2026, 9:21 pm
