Once comfortable, her affectionate nature shines—she’s motivated by your praise and loves to learn, picking up new cues with impressive speed. She carries herself with a soft, careful mouth, embodying her sweet and sensitive spirit. Mabel would flourish in a peaceful home where she can become the devoted and elegant pup we know she can become. Since Mabel tends to be on the skittish and shy side we think she would do best in an adult only home or a single person house. She would prefer a quiet house that does not have people coming in and out frequently. Life hasn't always been easy for Finch. Found wandering as a stray, this 43 lb Standard Poodle has had a rough go of it. He arrived here completely matted and with a double ear infection. We acted quickly to remove all the painful matting and take care of his ears, so now he's looking a little bald but he's feeling much better. He is ready to leave his past behind and find a soft place to land. At 2-3 years old Finch is the perfect age. He is past the chaotic puppy teething stage but still has plenty of youthful energy. While his coat is short now, we hope to find a home for him where his new owners will be diligent to keep him groomed so he can remain pain-free and handsome. We have vaccinated and microchipped him, and he will be neutered on 2/18. He is currently on a stray hold until 2/7 to give any previous owners a chance to claim him, but afterwards he will be ready for adoption. We are accepting applications now in case no one comes forward. Very smart and playful. Affectionate like a cat, just loves to be around people. Wherever you are, that's his favorite place. Does not shed, so good for homes with allergies. Loves treat toys and playing tug of war. Loves fetch, but likes to take the toy back to his spot before bringing it for another throw. The best environment for him would be a home with a few people or pets around; he has done great with children, both younger and older. Bentleys loves being around his people. House trained. Knows all basic commands. Has learned to not to sit or jump on furniture, but would love to cuddle next you.
