When she arrived, she was heartbreakingly shut down—her fur painfully matted, covered in debris, and too scared to even lift her head. She curled into the smallest ball she could make, hoping the world would simply leave her alone. She wouldn’t come forward to greet anyone; she had lost trust, and she had lost hope. At just 30 lbs, she’s still gaining weight after refusing to eat in the shelter from fear and confusion. But despite everything she’s endured, Butterscotch is quietly, bravely learning to live again. In her foster home, she’s slowly opening up. She has discovered that gentle hands are safe, soft voices are comforting, and she now allows volunteers to pet her with a sweetness that melts your heart. She is still early in her journey—learning what love feels like, learning how to walk on a leash, learning that she matters. Butterscotch lights up around other dogs. Their presence brings her comfort, confidence, and a sense of belonging. According to his DNA test, this cool dude is Enzo, a Shepadoodle mix. He was born in January, 2021. He weighs about 45 pounds. He has a fun, funky, curly mohawk down his back. Enzo knows: Sit, down, heel, right & left turn, down at a distance, 'go to your crate', and other commands. He waits and makes eye contact for treats and his dinner. He knows tricks, too. He did very well in an Intro to Nosework class. Enzo is house trained and uses the dog door. He is also crate trained. He uses the crate to relax and sleep. Enzo is good with anyone kind and appropriate. The calm kids he's met have been able to give him treats for tricks or pets. On hikes and walks he gets a little shy of people approaching and just prefers some distance. He will get curious and want to sniff if new people direct their attention away from him. Treats are a great icebreaker for him. Enzo is good with other dogs. He loves to play and even shares toys with dogs, initiating tug games with them. Enzo loves fetching rope toys and floppy toys. He loves sharing his toys with his people and will find toys to bring to initiate a game. Enzo is good in the car in a crate and can get excited when he is going somewhere he likes. Enzo is good on leash and can be uncertain sometimes with new situations. A confident dog pal helps him see that it's all ok. Enzo is best on quiet streets and hikes, so being a city dog isn't the life for him. Enzo will thrive in a home that is fair, kind, and keeps him busy so he isn't bored. He is a happy, fun-loving young dog who is up for anything fun and loves to learn. He has a lot of potential as a fun adventuring/sporting companion. We see him living with a young active couple or family who have a yard to play in, can take him for hikes and make him a big part of their lives. Enzo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in SoCal. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.

My name is Berry, and I am a great catch for those preferring a more mature companion! I am a super sweet boy--smart and affectionate, too! I'm what they call "sight impaired." I do fine once I know my way around my surroundings, but I like my humans to be close by to reassure me that I'm safe. I'm really good on my walks, and of course being a senior I like my walks slow and short. I'm not boring, though! My foster mom says I have a definite silly side, too. If you want a dignified, easygoing gentleman to keep you company, then I'm your guy. I am loved and well-cared for with my foster family but I am looking for my forever home. I have had a thorough health examination, Im microchipped and I will have a dental cleaning prior to adoption. Cody is the total package: cuddly, playful, friendly, and just the most perfect little gentleman. He loves snuggling up for a nap on the couch just as much as he enjoys a good game of tug-of-war or fetch. He’s great on walks, potty trained, and gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets. It’s truly impossible not to love him. He’s everything you could ever want in a dog! At his core, Cody is pure love. Boys are 6 months old- supposedly parents are Maltipoo but surely doesn't like it at all -- we think they are mixed with something else we will be doing DNA test to see what mix is - little nervous but overall very sweet boys. Puppy criteria- MUST HAVE another dog in the home between ages of 1-4 years old- under 20 pounds - will not make exceptions -- However if someone is willing to adopt two puppies from our rescue we are totally okay with that.
