🎉 We are officially opening the application process for KaihaLuLu, aka Lulu! 🎉 This sweet little lady hasn't had the easiest start in life, but everything changed the day she came to SAFE Rescue Team. Lulu was originally found wandering alone in the middle of the street by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. Neighbors shared that she had been loose for several days. Believing there had to be a family missing her, we asked the finder to take her to the local shelter so her owners would have every opportunity to reclaim her. Sadly, no one ever came for her. Once her stray hold was up, we welcomed Lulu into SAFE—and quickly realized just how much she had been through. She was severely matted down to her skin, suffering from infections in both ears and both eyes, and running a high fever. We rushed her to the emergency veterinarian, and after lots of love, medical care, and TLC, Lulu has made a full recovery. Now, she's healthy, happy, and finally ready to find the forever home she's always deserved. Lulu is potty trained, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and incredibly smart. She loves making her people happy and is the ultimate cuddle bug. Whether she's curled up in your lap or snuggled beside you on the couch, Lulu is happiest when she's close to the people she loves. Because of everything she's experienced, Lulu does have some separation anxiety. She would thrive in a home with someone who works from home, is retired, or can bring her along for daily adventures. She simply wants to be included and loved—and she'll return that love tenfold. ❤️ Lulu has waited long enough for her happily ever after. According to his DNA test, this cool dude is Enzo, a Shepadoodle mix. He was born in January, 2021. He weighs about 45 pounds. He has a fun, funky, curly mohawk down his back. Enzo knows: Sit, down, heel, right & left turn, down at a distance, 'go to your crate', and other commands. He waits and makes eye contact for treats and his dinner. He knows tricks, too. He did very well in an Intro to Nosework class. Enzo is house trained and uses the dog door. He is also crate trained. He uses the crate to relax and sleep. Enzo is good with anyone kind and appropriate. The calm kids he's met have been able to give him treats for tricks or pets. On hikes and walks he gets a little shy of people approaching and just prefers some distance. He will get curious and want to sniff if new people direct their attention away from him. Treats are a great icebreaker for him. Enzo is good with other dogs. He loves to play and even shares toys with dogs, initiating tug games with them. Enzo loves fetching rope toys and floppy toys. He loves sharing his toys with his people and will find toys to bring to initiate a game. Enzo is good in the car in a crate and can get excited when he is going somewhere he likes. Enzo is good on leash and can be uncertain sometimes with new situations. A confident dog pal helps him see that it's all ok. Enzo is best on quiet streets and hikes, so being a city dog isn't the life for him. Enzo will thrive in a home that is fair, kind, and keeps him busy so he isn't bored. He is a happy, fun-loving young dog who is up for anything fun and loves to learn. He has a lot of potential as a fun adventuring/sporting companion. We see him living with a young active couple or family who have a yard to play in, can take him for hikes and make him a big part of their lives. Enzo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in SoCal. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.

🐾 **Songi & Paengi – A Second Chance at the Life They Deserve** 🐾 Songi and Paengi's story began with heartbreak, but we're hoping it ends with love. Their former owner, a man, disappeared for reasons unknown, leaving both dogs behind. They were eventually discovered abandoned in the home, neglected and struggling to survive. When the owner's mother visited after receiving complaints from neighbors about constant barking, she found the house in terrible condition and the dogs severely neglected. Before contacting a shelter, she sold both dogs to a pet shop. When we learned about their situation, we knew we couldn't leave them there. We paid the pet shop to bring them into our care because both girls were unspayed, and we feared they could end up being used for breeding. Today, Songi and Paengi are safe at a private rescue center in Korea and have made an incredible recovery, both physically and emotionally. When they arrived, they were dangerously underweight. They suffered from severe diarrhea, excessive eye discharge, and badly matted coats. Despite everything they had endured, neither dog lost her gentle spirit. Both girls are sweet, affectionate, and incredibly loving with people. They enjoy the company of other dogs and have adapted beautifully to life in the rescue center. While they have never been introduced to cats, we do not expect them to show aggression toward them. Songi and Paengi share a special bond, and it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. However, we understand that isn't always possible, and we are also open to finding them separate homes if the right families come along.
