Meet Bruno. Bruno truly is such a love (95% of the time) and will make a great sidekick for someone, he just needs the RIGHT home to guide him, set boundaries, be patient and lead him (not vice versa). He is not a dog for just anyone, he is not a dog for first time dog parents, but we know his special person is out there. Is it you? We don’t know Bruno’s background, but we know he was abandoned by his former family and had to fend for himself for a month before ending up at the shelter. By that point, he was infested with fleas, his skin was infected, and he was miserable. He has recovered from his flea allergy and has a lovely healthy coat, but he will need to remain on flea treatment. Bruno was also likely abused and at least kicked in his past. His traumatic history has created some behavioral issues we are working with him on. Someone clearly once worked on training him skills. Bruno is extremely smart and knows sit, sit up pretty, stand, shake, wait, and is the best fetch player his foster mom has seen. He is very sweet and loving and has so much potential. Bruno needs a person who sees that potential and is willing to be patient and continually work with him to make Bruno the best version of himself. Bruno is already making strides and if you are his person will find it rewarding to continue to see him blossom. Bruno is obviously quite adorable but he needs a forever home with: - A strong confident human leader with dog experience to give him the structure he needs to thrive and make him trust and feel safe. Bruno will test his boundaries. He is extremely smart and thinks he should be in charge. He doesn’t always love being told what to do and can get snappy, so boundaries and structure are a must for him.- No kids now or in the future. - A yard is highly preferred. He loves a yard to play fetch and sunbathe. - A human who is home most of the time and/or a great dog role model: We think it will help Bruno to have a confident/indifferent fur sibling. He lives with two foster siblings and gets along with both great. Bruno walks great on a leash and loves car rides. He loves walks and will be a great hiking buddy. He is potty-trained, crate trained, and absolutely can't get enough attention from his person. Bruno is 3 years young and weighs 19lbs. He is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines.
