Story
Hello - Music greats, Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers, have sung a song about me . . . LADY! That’s me, a loving 3-year-old Poodle/St Bernard/Great Pyrenees blend girl named Lady. I weigh 52 lbs. of pure love! It has been said that I have a kind of sweetness that’s impossible to miss from the very first moment you meet me. Most dogs reserve their signature tail wag for familiar faces, but my propeller wag is on full display for everyone. Why? Because, as far as I am concerned, every person is already a friend.
Favorite Things: People are Lady’s favorite things . . . Young or old, man or woman, it simply doesn’t matter. Lady loves deeply and unconditionally. She’s the kind of companion who wants to be by your side at all times. If she were Velcro, she’d be of the industrial-strength variety. Whether she’s rolling onto her back for belly rubs at your feet, cuddling like a baby in your arms on the couch, or happily settled in as your personal lapdog, Lady is most at home wherever her people are. Every morning begins the same way: with kisses and pure joy, because Lady wakes up genuinely excited about the day ahead and about you. Don’t let her gentle nature fool you, Lady is surprisingly fast and loves to run.
Training & Manners: Lady is housetrained in her foster home, has good basic manners and loves a car ride. She could use some practice with leash walking.
Health and Care: Lady is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She has a poodle coat so regular brushing and professional grooming will be needed.
Other Animals: This social butterfly has experience with large and playful dogs. Lady does well with other dogs in the home, though she’ll always be happiest when she’s the star of the show.
She has not been tested with cats, but we think she would be fine with a feline friend.
Children: This gentle and patient gal is good with kids of all ages. Of course, small children should always be supervised.
Ideal Home: This playful “wiggle butt” LOVES to run so her “DREAM HOME” would include a fenced yard. However, if other accommodations can be made for her to get plenty of exercise and running time, she could live in a home without a fence. In her foster home, she has free rein of the house and can be left alone for several hours without issues. She’s adaptable, too. Though she’d love nothing more than to share your bed, she quickly bonded with a resident husky and chose to sleep near him each night rather than apart. (She does, however, reserve the right to put her paws on the bed’s edge each morning to say good morning on her terms.)
Overall: Lady doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She isn’t looking for much, just someone to love and someone to love her back. And just like Kenny and Lionel . . . we think YOU will soon be singing “ you're the love of my life, you're my LADY”.
If your home has room for a warm, devoted, soulful companion, Lady will fill it completely. Interested? Visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $500.
