You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Laura Van Zomermen (Laura@hatw.org), 734-7866228 for more information about this pet.Laila is a 10 month old love bug of goofiness once she knows she can trust you.  Laila loves to run, cuddle, please and just be with you. She would do best with another dog that likes to play and can show her the ropes. She is eager to please which is a lovely attribute.  Laila is a submissive pup with ridiculously long legs and a sweet grin. She is shy and scared at first but if you give her time you'll be well rewarded. Small children would likely be too much for her but older, respectful children might be great!  If you would like to meet her let me know!     Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). Story
From Merlin's foster mom: I have had the pleasure of fostering Merlin for several months. He was dumped in a rural area and was hard to catch and scared of everything. I brought him into my house and he stayed inside with outside potty breaks while in my care and NEVER had an accident inside. I became worried about his safety when he escaped my fence one day and would not come back to me. He was sent for 2 weeks inboard training. He caught a chicken the day he got loose but dropped it when I told him to and the chicken was unharmed. Merlin slowly warmed up to me and would try to get in to my lap a lot. He is very loving and sweet. He would be a great walking or jogging companion as he is high energy. He was very submissive to all my other dogs and was tolerant of cats but I never left him alone with the cats. Merlin is very smart and funny and he has a wonderful personality. He is a perfect dog but he needs an adopter with a sense of humor. Merlin "The Magician" makes things disappear! He loves to collect household items...shoes, clothes, spoons, canned goods, measuring tapes...whatever he can get his mouth on. He has great fun swiping things the second you turn around. He has a special place he takes his treasurers and understands you will collect your items back. I imagine this will improve as he grows out of puppyhood and with follow up training. He was started with the basics but will continue to need reinforcement of what he has learned. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Mr Bumble He is 72 pounds of puppy who is eager to love and eager to learn. He was a gift to a cancer patient who had no idea of his breed and ,when he grew to his current size in six months, he became too much for them so they let him play outside free roam style. His spunky nature didn't work with the other neighbors and he was going to get shot by them if he wasn't chained. (Nice I know) He was brought into rescue and introduced to a more civilized way of life. He's learning to walk on a leash, he loves stuffed animals and plenty of play time. He's never met a critter he doesn't like and when it comes to humans he loves to stand up and look you in the eyes for hugs and kisses.A play pal would be great for him being his is so young and he definitely needs room to burn off that puppy energy. He has that puppy vibe but learns right from wrong quickly and is very well mannered. He's as mellow as he is energetic and loves his couch time. His first six months of life were basically free range, self sufficient living with his little girlfriend. This doodle is an awesome pal and would thrive in pretty much any environment, but remember, he is pushing eighty pounds and is only around eight months old. He’s gonna be a big ‘un!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Meet Cocoa! 🐾 This sweet girl is looking for her forever home and would love to be your new best friend! She’s potty trained, crate trained, and great with kids of all ages. Cocoa is a total lap dog at heart – she just wants to snuggle up with you and enjoy a cozy spot by your side. 🥰 She’s good with most dogs but prefers calm companions who won’t overwhelm her with jumping or craziness. Cocoa enjoys short walks and is just as happy chilling out with you as she is exploring the neighborhood. Cocoa would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day. While she’s perfectly fine in her crate (no accidents or destruction!), she may cry a little at first. She’s just a little sensitive and really wants to be close to her people. 💕 If you’re looking for a low-key, loving companion to join your family, Cocoa could be the perfect fit! 🏡 Message us for more info or to meet this sweet girl! Story
This is Valentina, aka Valley. She's a 4.5 year old Portugese Water Dog who currently weights 80lbs (but the vet says she needs to lose about 10-15). Even though she's had a rough life so far, being used only to produce puppies, she is so resiliant! She is quickly learning how nice it is to live in a house, she's discovered chew toys and bones, and after a nervous start at a long walk, she's realized she really likes long, slow walks. She even visited downtown Dexter and a few shops- and she was a polite, sweet girl! Valley is great with other dogs, cats and kids and is so calm, sweet and affectionate. She will be the perfect companion for any family—whether you have kids or not, she just wants to be loved! Likes Cats: She doesn't bother them
Likes Dogs: Yes, but shy. House trained: Working on it! She's doing great when taken out consistently and knows what to do outside!

 Needs a pal:
She would be fine with our without a dog pal.
Likes kids under 5: Unsure, but very likely. She's very laid back.

 Likes kids over 5:  Yes

Kenneled: She is gated in the laundry room at night and does fine.
