Story
Meet Luna 🐾 Luna is a bright, friendly 6‑year‑old poodle whose personality radiates warmth and joy. Described as loyal, playful, and social, she’s the kind of dog who bonds with her people and loves being part of the action. Luna has lived successfully with another dog, so she could be a great fit for a home with a friendly canine companion. We do not have history of Luna living with cats or kids. She’s fully house trained and crate trained, spending her nights cozily tucked into her crate and her days happily exploring the home. She doesn’t chase wildlife or distractions, making her an easygoing partner for calm neighborhoods or busy households alike. Her favorite things include ball toys, squeaky toys, and any chance to play fetch—where she’ll show off her joyful jumps and excited barks. When she’s not playing, Luna loves hopping in the car for an adventure and taking in the world around her. She thrives on companionship and would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a steady, loyal presence. With her gentle nature, fun‑loving spirit, and easy adaptability, Luna is ready to bring love, laughter, and comfort to her family. Apply to adopt Luna today, or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶

Story
Alfie is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Meet Alfie! This sweet boy has a playful spirit and an even bigger heart. He loves to play and, once he gets to know you, becomes incredibly affectionate and loving. Alfie can be a little shy and hesitant at first, especially when going in and out of the house, but he’s already making great progress with patience and encouragement. Alfie is a smart pup who learns quickly and is still very puppy-like — curious about everything and eager to explore both inside and outside. He’s wonderful with other dogs and does great with people of all ages, including young children. He has done especially well with kids as young as 2½ and 14 years old. Alfie is settling in nicely. He sleeps quietly in his crate with no issues and has only had one accident in the house since arriving in foster care, especially with frequent potty breaks and consistency. He’s continuing to learn house routines and build confidence every day. Because of his timid nature, Alfie will need a patient adopter who understands that adjustment takes time. With love, encouragement, and patience, this gentle sweetheart is absolutely going to thrive and become an amazing companion. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
DOB 6-1-2025 This sweet Poodle Is crate trained and loves to go for walks on her leash. Ella has been spayed, she is Heartworm negative and received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. She is up to date on shots and dental work and weighs about 45 pounds. Ella gets along well with other dogs and LOVES her toys and playing in her back yard. Her adoption fee is 950.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC. they are a wonderful transport delivering pets to the East Coast every other weekend The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Stella Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!      Meet Stella Provac — your built-in best friend and full-time cuddle enthusiast. Stella is around six years old and has already mastered all the house manners you wish every dog came with. She’s fully house trained, not destructive, and completely at ease when left alone—no separation anxiety, no drama. Just a calm, easygoing companion who knows how to be part of a home. Her personality leans mellow, but don’t mistake that for distant—Stella is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human connection. In fact, her favorite hobby is gently (and persistently) inserting herself into your personal space for pets and attention. If you’re looking for a dog who truly wants to be with you, Stella delivers. She’s also a low-maintenance dream. No puppy chaos here—just a steady, sweet dog who would be a perfect match for someone looking to skip the training-heavy early stages and jump straight into companionship. Stella walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out and about, though she can get startled by passing bikes and may bark or jump when they zoom by. With consistency, she may grow more comfortable over time. Around the house, she takes her role as neighborhood watch seriously and will let you know when someone passes by—consider it her version of keeping things secure. She has a strong prey drive, so she’ll need a cat-free home. While she can coexist with another dog, she tends to entertain herself rather than actively play, so she’d be just as happy as your one-and-only. All in all, Stella is a fantastic house guest turned forever companion: sweet, steady, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to live with. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who will happily trade independence for closeness, Stella Provac is ready to move right in. **Due to clinic delays this dog will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100.00 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
