Story
James was adopted into a home with other dogs but is having difficulty with sharing the home. His adopter has made the difficult decision to rehome James. He is a 2 year old Poodle/Doberman/Akita. He is neutered and was just seen at the vet for a check up. When asked to describe James, we were told he is loving, playful and quick to learn. If you are looking to add an easy companion who prefers the company of people over other animals, send us an email at support@almosthomeri.org We are asking a donation be made to the rescue in lieu of our standard adoption fee.

Story
Meet Clancy is you want a walking buddy look no further. Clancy does not need doggie day care or a fenced yard he just needs you to walk him as many times a day as you want. He would walk to New England to find his forever family if we let him. He see's his leash and he is ready to GO. He was brought to the shelter because his gorgeous coat requires upkeep. His previous owners couldn't keep up with his grooming needs. To stay handsome and tangle-free, he will need regular visits to the groomer. He is currently crate trained and loves a big crate with lots of space to hang out. He is fostered with other dogs of different ages and sized and he has had no issues. He does not seem to need a dog around as long as he has his person. He has not lived with children that we know of so we would suggest children over 7. He is also not cat tested. Clancy is very loving and after the long walks he will curl up with you and be your best friend. So please put your walking shoes on and let Clancy lead the way to all kinds of fun adventures.Name: ClancyBreed: Poodle/Pom  (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: MaleAge: 2 years 1 month (estimated as of 7/11/26)Weight: 12 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:    Tennessee IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Earl **Currently Available for Adoption!** Good with Kids & Dogs! Meet Earl! 4 yrs./10 lb./Male/Poodle Mix Name: Earl Age: 4 Years Weight: 10 lbs Breed: Poodle Mix Status: Tiny comedian seeking a forever audience ❤️ About Me: Hi, I'm Earl! If you've ever wanted to live with a dog who keeps life interesting, you've found your guy. I'm equal parts charm, mischief, and personality packed into one adorable 10-pound package. I've got a knack for making people laugh without even trying. Sometimes it's my expressive little face, sometimes it's the way I dramatically supervise everything you're doing, and sometimes it's because I somehow end up in the middle of the action just to see what's going on. Life is more fun when you don't take yourself too seriously—and I definitely don't. When I'm not busy entertaining, I'm happy to curl up beside my favorite humans for some well-earned snuggles. I may be a funny little guy, but I'm also sweet, affectionate, and ready to be someone's loyal sidekick. Best Qualities • Hilarious personality with endless character • Sweet, affectionate, and loves attention • Compact size—easy to bring along on adventures • Always ready to brighten your day • Equal parts cuddle buddy and comic relief My Ideal Match Someone who appreciates a dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. If you laugh often, don't mind having a tiny supervisor follow you around, and believe every day is better with a little silliness, we'll get along just fine. Deal Breakers • Taking life too seriously • Not appreciating my world-class comedic timing • Expecting me to blend into the background (not happening!) Fun Fact I'm only 10 pounds... but I somehow manage to have the confidence of a 100-pound dog and the comedic timing of a sitcom star.

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally. We are hoping to adopt Indy and Odie together as they`re lived together for several years.Meet Indie and Odie! Odie is pproximately 5-6 years old, 57 lb currently (needs to lose a little weight), and she may have some Poodle in her mix! In her foster home, she is doing great with her house training, crate-training, and leash walking. She could join households with kids, possibly dog-savvy cats, and other dogs. Her foster says, `Meet your new best friend! This sweet pup is full of love and personality. She loves to cuddle up on the couch for quality time just as much as she loves to play and have fun. Whether it’s chasing toys, running around with other animals, or relaxing beside you after a long day, she’s happiest being around her people. She does great with kids and enjoys the company of other animals, making her a wonderful addition to a family home. She especially loves playing outside in a safe, fenced-in area where she can run freely and burn off energy before coming inside for cuddles and couch time. She has a gentle, loving nature and is looking for a forever home where she can give endless affection and companionship. If you’re searching for a loyal cuddle buddy with a playful side, she could be the perfect match for you!`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth in July 17th or possibly earlier.
