Despite that rough start, Max is resilient, curious, and ready to experience the life every young dog deserves — one filled with learning, love, and adventure. Still very much a puppy, Max is at an age where training, bonding, and exploration are part of everyday life. He’s eager to grow into a confident companion and is looking for a home that will guide him, engage his clever mind, and include him in family life. &#226&#156&#168 Adoption Information Max’s adoption fee is $1,995, a non-refundable donation that helps support lifesaving rescue efforts. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? Story
Meet Lulu — a soft, gentle soul with a heart full of love and a PhD in cozy living. At around 11 years old, Lulu has fully embraced the art of the slow, sweet life. She isn’t here for chaos or constant motion—she’s here for the good stuff: warm blankets, quiet afternoons, soft pets, and being close to her person. If you’ve ever wished for a companion who will happily curl up beside you and make your home feel instantly calmer, Lulu is exactly that kind of dog. Her favorite hobby? Finding the comfiest spot in the house and settling in like she’s been waiting for it all day. A couch, a dog bed, a sunny patch on the floor—it’s all fair game, and she makes each spot look like the coziest place on earth. Add in some gentle pets and kind words, and you’ll see her completely melt. Lulu doesn’t ask for much, but what she gives in return is something really special. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/2cRUskYyRO8?si=EAUx899WdQskmUu8 She is incredibly loving and affectionate, the kind of dog who bonds deeply and just wants to be near you. There’s something about senior dogs like Lulu—they have this quiet understanding, this calm presence that feels like comfort in its purest form. She’s not trying to figure life out anymore; she already knows what matters, and that’s love, safety, and companionship. Lulu is also wonderfully easygoing. She does great with other dogs and has been around children, where she’s proven to be gentle and sweet. She’s currently thriving in her foster home, soaking up all the love and showing just how adaptable and kind she truly is. She’s not demanding, not high-energy, not complicated—she’s just… good. Adopting a senior dog like Lulu is something truly meaningful. These dogs don’t get enough attention, but they are often the most grateful, the most loyal, and the most loving companions you could ever hope for. Lulu isn’t going to chew up your shoes or bounce off the walls—she’s going to quietly become your shadow, your comfort, your little piece of peace at the end of a long day. She’s already grown into the perfect companion; she just needs someone to share that life with. There’s a softness to Lulu that you can feel immediately. Maybe it’s in her gentle eyes, or the way she settles so easily beside you, or how she leans into affection like it’s her favorite thing in the world. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to impress you—she just wins you over by being exactly who she is. All Lulu wants is a loving home where she can spend her days doing what she does best: cuddling, resting, and being adored. In return, she’ll give you unwavering love, quiet companionship, and a kind of warmth that only a dog like her can bring. If you have a soft spot for the underdogs, for the gentle hearts, for the ones who just want a place to belong—Lulu is waiting for you. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Soul destroying to think of what he has been through & yet he still loves human beings even after everything they have done to him. Tom Haverford along with his 2 other siblings were kept 24/7 in a crate & the breeder here in WA state was not feeding them. She would forget to feed these beautiful souls she said & could not take care of them. 3 of them were kept in a cage at the age of 4 months & when we got them they were so extremely skinny & so matted & stunk so bad & had not been receiving any love nor care & had never ever been to a vet & were consuming their own fecis to stay alive. Yes, you did just read that correctly. We rescued a total of 7 standards from this breeder when she would allow them to leave & instantly got everyone straight to our vets. Our souls were so broken for what Tom Haverford had endured & his siblings. Tom Haverford & his siblings are all available for a loving devoted forever home now they are healthy & so very loved & the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Tom Haverford is so now a ball of joy, fun & energy & so very spirited. Considering his past life he had to learn what it was to be in a loving foster home & the normal freedom. At first when he arrived he didn’t know what to do & was uncertain after being kept in a cage. He had to learn to walk properly as he did not know how to from being kept in a cage with his 2 siblings. Those days are over for Tom Haverford & now he knows he can go wherever he wants. You can find this boy just sitting there taking it all in as he is so grateful. He will just sit there or lay there & watch what you are doing without a care in the world now. We cannot stress enough how lovely Tom Haverford is & deserves the most loving home. This boy is so stinking sweet inside & out & he has come along way since we rescued him. We posted his story on social media along with his journey & his siblings. The reality is he had to learn everything with us. He is so forgiving. He just wants you to love him & he will love you back. He adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in his life to show him such true love & affection once he has built that trust with you. He adores his foster mum & his foster dad & has gotten so much sweeter as every day passes. He will put his paws on the kitchen counter & try to eat what is on the benches & will pull food down if he can. He is also super smart & taught himself to go up & down hardwood stairs to go upstairs & go to bed. In his foster home he eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains & different supplements. He loves his bully sticks & collagen sticks too. He is absolutely obsessed with his food & he will eat with his foster siblings but will want to eat all the food. Considering his past this is not surprising. At first we had to teach him not to eat his fecis as that’s all he knew to survive. We treated him for worms & giradia a few times because of this which was so very sad. Tom Haverford is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach her how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Tom Haverford has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Tom Haverford is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Tom Haverford adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all once he knows you. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. In his foster homes he loves beds, blankets & will want to sleep with you if he can. In his foster home she instantly taught herself to walk up hardwood stairs. He is a very smart intelligent lad. He loves laying near his siblings & lets other dogs lay on top of him to snuggle with him. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Tom Haverford & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He is definitely a dog’s dog & loves people too. He does adore his foster dad & going into his office & laying on his bed & enjoying a bully stick in there. Tom Haverford has learnt to ride in the car & does amazing in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such an easy & sweet going, loving little lad. With Tom Haverford we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this boy, we do not want this again for our sweetheart. We are also looking for a forever home for Tom Haverford where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. This boy adores a good outfit & is now used to wearing clothes. Tom Haverford is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Tom Haverford has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. He can be found at times snuggled up to his foster siblings or his sister who he is fostered with. He is a very playful boy & definitely needs a very playful dog in his new forever home. He will play with any dog that will play with him. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Tom Haverford’s new forever home along with another dog friend if it’s a freestanding dwelling. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. Tom Haverford is now roughly 42.6 lbs & is 19 months & a male standard poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is the smallest out of his siblings. He is neutered by laser & is microchipped, had his shots including DHPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs & will only redo the rabies. He had her ears cleaned & meds put into them. Tom is missing a small patch of fur that is growing back in on his bottom from previously living in a cage. He also had a dental scale & polish along with dental x-rays. We have spent far more on Tom Haverford with multiple vet visits between 3 vets, getting him well & his surgeries without anything else than his adoption fee comes close to covering. Tom Haverford has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Tom Haverford with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Tom Haverford was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Tom Haverford’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Tom Haverford potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Tom Haverford & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Tom Haverford who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Tom Haverford has an adoption fee of $850 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
