The big personality of this so dedicated to life & to be adored & loved girl Miss GuiNiu, ended up in a meat market in Mudanjiang & yes you read that correctly. This beautiful girl ended up in a meat market for human consumption after a breeder had used her & then was rescued from there & ended up in another shelter. What we do know is, she was pulled out of there on deaths door with pneumonia so severe it almost took her beautiful precious life. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued GuiNiu & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting GuiNiu out, her fate was death alone just from the pneumonia. She transferred GuiNiu to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with GuiNiu & many other sweet souls she got well & brought back to health which took a very long time as their immunity was so severely compromised from the condition she had been living in & waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as GuiNiu & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now GuiNiu is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. GuiNiu was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. GuiNiu was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Considering how deathly ill GuiNiu was in China & on deaths door it’s a miracle she survived along with her friends. To the adventurous big personality, oh so fun & bounds of bouncy energy to the girl she is now. Look out world here comes the ready to go on a hike, run, play beautiful spirited GuiNiu. GuiNiu is looking for a forever home who will walk her, run with her & have lots of adventures. It’s unbelievable to think she survived pneumonia & being in hell at a meat market for humane consumption to who this girl is now, a healthy loving girl who just wants you to give her lots of love, cuddles & affection. She is nothing but so very sweet & affectionate. She has enjoyed eating since she has been here in the US, but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding her is all new to her & just being fed all the time is new to her. She has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. GuiNiu is learning to walk on a harness & leash & done so well with us so far but would still need continued work, as she is so excited when going on her walks, she will pull & is quite strong but is really good. She also does not care about dogs or react to them when at the park. GuiNiu adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general. GuiNiu is so good with being bathed. We have had her with many breeds of dogs & she has done well with different size dogs & adores dogs so we are only looking for a home for her with another dog in the home she can play with. GuiNiu also did so well with our vets when she went & had her dental. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to GuiNiu & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. This little stunning lady has energy galore, bounds of fun loving energy. She is making up for lost time & who could blame her. She is good with other dogs & we have her with other dogs, in her new forever home there must be a young dog or young dogs for her to play with. GuiNiu has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car but we always have her with other dogs when in the car. She is such an amazing soul, she will try to stick her head out of the window if you are on the outside as if to say, “why am I not out there with you, let me out, I want to be with you”. She just sits back & enjoys the journey. With GuiNiu we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. We are also looking for a forever home for GuiNiu where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. GuiNiu is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. GuiNiu has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where she can be with another dog or other dogs in the home in the home as she loves playing with dogs. We currently have her with other dogs. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for GuiNiu’s new forever home. GuiNiu is now roughly 40 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US with us, she is 4 years old & perhaps a standard poodle. She is spayed & female, she had a dental/scale & polish, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on GuiNiu with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs alone bringing her through cargo was over $3000, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/ scale & polish, spay, shots, microchip, etc & then bringing her to WA with her transport fees than her adoption fee comes close to covering. GuiNiu has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when GuiNiu was conceived so we do not know who her parents were or her exact birthday & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & GuiNiu’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is GuiNiu potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting GuiNiu & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for GuiNiu who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet girl. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. GuiNiu has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

The most beautiful, loving soul you will ever have the pleasure of meeting & our love who deserves the most amazing forever home. The hell BeiBei witnessed & heard when he was at the slaughterhouse is soul destroying to think about what he endured. How BeiBei ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, he was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation he ended up in. BeiBei was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. BeiBei such a softe gentle soul & so forgiving of our standards. This boy will love you & trust you once he knows you. He has truly been to hell & back. It appears in China a dog ripped off half of one of his ears & of course it was never treated & just healed naturally. He now knows no difference, it’s on ascetics. Poor him. He is a joy for us in this rescue & we love him dearly. This beautiful boy has seen & lived an absolute horror show. His past is so vile & now he his joy & zest for life pours into everything he does. He is such a sweetheart, who just wants you to love him & he is so easy to love, that’s BeiBei. He is slow to warm up to some people & others he adores immediately. It’s beyond brutal to think what came so close to happening to him as he is the sweetest, lad & loves to be held & cuddled & those eyes look straight into your soul. He has energy though when he sees his friend HeiDou but can have energy so in his new home he would need to be played with or taken on walks & needs another dog friend in the home to play with. With us though he will also lay around. He will stand on his hind legs & hug you to show you how much he loves you. He loves both men & women but we would say women more & he gets attached pretty quickly to you. He has enjoyed eating since he has been here in the US with all the new tasty food he gets but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding him is all new to him & just being fed all the time is new to him. He also enjoys a good treat & that would be many treats. When BeiBei arrived he was so skinny, it was extremely sad how very thin this boy was. He has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. He knows now what love & happiness is. It’s as if when he looks at you he is constantly saying, thank you for loving me. He still needs to put on continued weight though in his new forever home. BeiBei is still being taught to walk on his harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach him he does really well but would need continued work. BeiBei is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. BeiBei adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love & cuddled. BeiBei is wonderful when it comes to being groomed & given a bath. We don’t believe he had hardly had many baths before us. With BeiBei we had him with many breeds of dogs & he has done well with different size dogs & loves to play, play play with other dogs & loves humans company to. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to BeiBei & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He is making up for lost time & who could blame him. In his new forever be prepared as he may want to sleep in bed with you. BeiBei has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such a sweet soul. He just sits back & enjoys the journey. With BeiBei we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only because of hid horrible past. We are also looking for a forever home for BeiBei where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. BeiBei is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. We currently have him with other dogs so in his new home it’s mandatory to have another dog for him. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for BeiBei’s new forever home. BeiBei is now roughly 40 lbs & has put on a extraordinary amount of weight since coming to the US with us, but would still need continued weight put on in his new forever home. He is 3 years old & perhaps a standard poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male, he had a dental/scale & polish. He is heart worm negative, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, had his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees they charge the rescue but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The cruelty that John endured is just soul destroying. He spent his life used as a breeding machine for a breeder to live off him. She ended up lending him out to another breeder who beat him to breed for 2 years & left him outside in a cage. We believe some form of stick was used as he gets worried when he sees a broom or mop & this was experienced in his first foster home. The original breeder ended up getting him back & continued to breed him & could no longer care for him or the other standard poodles she had & was keeping 3 to a crate & was not feeding them. We were asked could we help John & 6 other standard poodle puppies & we have to say that each of these dogs are the most lovely dogs you would ever meet. John is the biggest sweetheart. It’s so damn sad to think about his previous life & the lack of care. John who is now looking for his very own forever home & who will never give up on him & love him just as we do. John is a very soft gentle soul & at the same time so full of life love. He likes to lay with you & can't be happier being petted & touched. He gets very attached to his people & they become his everything. He does not like to be left alone & in both foster homes he would & does howl if left alone. Let’s face it, both foster homes loved him deeply & he now gets to experience what love, devotion & and safe environment is. He is so content to rest his head on you & nap. He just started enjoying toys for the very first time his foster mum said so this is so wonderful for us & for him to enjoy himself. He loves everyone he meets & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. He enjoys sleeping on the bed with you or a pile of blankets with his foster siblings. He currently sleeps with his foster family & he did in his other foster home too. This boy loves a good couch & so enjoys sitting on a chair & looking out the window. He ate a clean diet in his first foster home with raw proteins, vegetables, fruits, cooked grains & supplements. He did wonderful on this diet. In his current loving foster home he is on kibble. John’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard & sunning himself only if you are out there with him. He adores both his foster mums & dads in both of his foster homes. John was so matted the skin that we did not know where his tail started & ended because the matting was absolutely horrendous & severe. John has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He is used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will just let you dry him. He is wonderful with being groomed. His foster mum cleans his ears out regularly & he does really well having his ear cleaned considering we don’t know if they were ever previously done. He has put on weight since being in the rescue. John rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit next to you with his dog’s friends. He gets very excited when he thinks he is going to go on a walk. He walks well on his lead now & did good considering he had never been taught. We are looking for a forever home for John where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. He will absolutely not do well being left alone so that will not work. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. John is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. John has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & was fostered with other dogs in his foster home & does well with them & enjoys their company. We think some dogs would annoy him & be too much for him. In his current foster home he is with a cat only. But could be the only dog in the home if he was going to get all the attention. John is roughly 7 years old 42 lbs & is a standard poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He had a dental scale & polish & had 10 teeth removed including a fractured canine. He had bloodwork done & that came back good. He was treated with antibiotics & pain meds for his neuter & dental. He previously had an enlarged prostate which was causing him horrible pain but once neutered that helped the situation. He had 2 forms of yeast in his ears that were cleaned out & treated for but will be retreated again as his ears were so full of fur. He is male, neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & being dewormed. John has been around cats since being in the rescue & the cat is blind in his foster home & has been indifferent with the cat. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children. But we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when John was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. John has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting John & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. Soul destroying to think of what she has been through & yet she still loves human beings even after everything they have done to her. Camilla along with her 2 other siblings were kept 24/7 in a crate & the breeder here in WA state was not feeding them. She would forget to feed these beautiful souls she said & could not take care for them. 3 of them were kept in a cage at the age of 6 months & when we got them they were so extremely skinny & so matted & stunk so bad & had not been receiving any love nor care & had never ever been to a vet & were consuming their own fecis to stay alive. Yes, you did just read that correctly. We rescued a total of 9 standards from this breeder when she would allow them to leave & instantly got everyone straight to our vets. Our souls were so broken for what Camilla had endured & her siblings. Camilla & her siblings are all available for a loving devoted forever home now they are healthy & so very loved. Camilla is so easy going considering her past life but had to learn what it was like to be in a loving foster home & the normal freedom. At first when she arrived she didn’t know what to do & was uncertain after being kept in a cage. Those days are over for Camilla & now she knows she can go wherever she wants. You can find this girl just sitting there taking it all in as she is so grateful. She will just sit there or lay there & watch what you are doing without a care in the world now. We cannot stress enough how lovely Camilla is & deserves the most loving home. This girl is so stunning inside & out & she has come along way since we rescued her. We posted her story on social media along with her journey & her siblings. The reality is she had to learn everything with us. She is so forgiving. She just wants you to love her & she will love you back. She adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in her life to show her such true love & affection. She is used to being groomed, baths all of it & is used to it. She adores her foster mum & dad now as they have shown her normalcy & love. In her foster homes she eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains & different supplements. Camilla is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach her how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Camilla has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Camilla is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Camilla was moved to a new foster home & had a harness on in the car & does not like having a harness left on & chewed through it while in the car. Camilla adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. In both her foster homes she loves beds, blankets & will want to sleep with you if she can. If she can’t she will lay next to the bed to be close to you. In her current foster home she is learning how to use a dog door but had not figured it out yet. In her first foster home she instantly taught herself to walk up hardwood stairs. She is a very smart intelligent girl. We have tested her in a daycare environment & she did well with many breeds & was fostered with puppies & loves puppies. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Camilla & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. She is definitely a people person dog & loves to be wherever you are. Camilla has learnt to ride in the car & does amazing in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such an easy & sweet going, loving little lady. With Camilla we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this girl, we do not want this again for our sweetheart. We are also looking for a forever home for Camilla where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit too. Camilla is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. Camilla has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. She can be found at times snuggled up to her foster siblings. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Camilla new forever home along with another dog friend if it’s a freestanding dwelling. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. Camilla is now roughly 36.2 lbs & is 10 months old & a female standard poodle & what she is mixed with we are not sure? She is spayed by laser & just had a dental scale & polish & is microchipped, up to date on her shots including DHPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. She had an ear flush, meds put in her ears for an ear infection long lasting claro. She has a couple of old marks on her from being groomed but one is getting Manuka honey on it to help it heal quicker. On the day of her surgery she had entropion in one eye that was not there before but could go away again on his own. Discussion with the vet that it could go away again & Camilla could grow out of it without doing an unnecessary surgery on her eye that could cause problems with her tear production. Entropion left again the next day & had not returned again since. We have spent far more on Camilla with multiple vet visits between 2 vets, getting her well & her surgeries without anything else than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Camilla has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Camilla with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Camilla was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Camilla’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Camilla potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Camilla & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Camilla who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Camilla has an adoption fee of $1650 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
We'll also keep you updated on Kumquat's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. We had one of our people reach out to us in CO about a breeder who we had saved a sweetheart Scottie girl from previously who was being sold off to be used as a breeding machine & the breeder was not factual about this poor girl. But once we knew she was back at it again posting dogs she wanted gone we knew we had to help. Little did we know she had Kumquat & her sister & some other sweethearts. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. Kumquat was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 5 lives & Kumquat being one of these souls along with her sister Lemon. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Kumquat how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Kumquat, her sister & her friends were flown back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. The state Kumquat was picked up in was absolutely devastating & so sad. She & everyone were so filthy, they stunk so badly & was so very skinny. It appeared she had been just living in a cage outside. That was her whole life prior to us. We could tell she was not being fed well either because she would try to eat her poop. We had to teach her everything about being in a home & she has flourished now. She is the sweetest girl. So very easy going & a free spirit. She deserves to be so very loved. She has mastered wooden stairs & can go up & down them no worries. She loves both her foster mum & dad. She now knows what toys are & loves playing with her toys. She has been learning to go potty on material potty pads. She is not too fond of being outside for too long. She absolutely loves her foster siblings & her adorable sister Lemon. She adores all ages of dogs no matter what size or age. She is very playful & will try to get any size dog to play with her. When we first got her we had to teach her to be in a loving home with dogs & be with them in a normal environment. She enjoys wearing a good outfit as we have put jumpers on her. She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little lady. She really enjoys snuggling with you & we know she adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. At first she had no idea what it was to be held & loved but now she gets ready to stand up & receive love & gets ready for her foster mum to pick her up. The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. Kumquat is a wonderful eater & we know that she is obsessed with food with the amount of weight she has put on in her loving foster home with the good nutrition she is getting. She eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & is on supplements. She gets bully sticks & collagen sticks & loves them. Well she is absolutely obsessed with them. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. She absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & be apart of what you are doing. She will want to sleep with you or on a pile of fluffy blankets or dog bed with het friends. She is such a sweetheart who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. Kumquat loves going in the car & just looks around & takes it all in. The only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us & her loving foster home. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Kumquat as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Kumquat where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Kumquat is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Kumquat has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently in a loving foster home with her beautiful sister. She will be found snuggled up with her dog friends. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. She needs a very snuggly dog in the home for her to play with. She is good with puppies & if they annoy her or get too unruly she will let them know. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Kumquat is roughly 22 lbs & she is 8 months old & a moyen poodle. She has put on a lot of weight since being in the rescue in her foster home. What she is mixed with we are not sure. From the breeder she told us she is a moyen poodle & trying to sell her & her sister Lemon as moyen poodles. Female, she is spayed by laser. While under for her spay her colon was filled with fecis & they thought there was a problem so a larger cut was done of Kumquat & fecis was removed from her colon. At the end of the day she just had not pooped before her surgery. She did have some adhesions & we were told to watch to make sure she had no problems with pooping. But she never did nor does have any problems at all. She is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Kumquat with getting her from a breeder & bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & MO etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Kumquat has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Kumquat was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Kumquat’s friends & sister she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Kumquat potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Kumquat & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Kumquat who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Kumquat. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PLEASE go to our website www.collarofhope.org to read all information about our puppies, rescue, adoption process and to submit our adoption application.  All of our information does not transfer to the adoption sites. Before completing our adoption application, please consider the following: Is someone home to raise and train a puppy? Do you have a securely fenced yard for the puppy? Can you give a puppy a 15ish year commitment?  Dalton came to us along with several other poodles from a breeder.  All were under a year old and were in awful condition.  They stunk terribly, were matted, overgrown ear and pad fur and were emaciated also.   Dalton was one of the youngest, 17 weeks old then and he was by far the smallest and skinniest, weighing only 8 pounds .  He will not be close to the size of a standard poodle even though that is his breed.  He about 30 pounds now so he will be approximately 30ish pounds grown.  He is engaging, sweet, lovable and will be your best friend!  Our first priority was to get some healthy weight on them, basic vetting and had other testing done to confirm or rule out anything medical causing or because of the thin state .  Everything came back clear.    Their new home needs to be willing and able to continue his training, especially potty training and working with this dog.  They obviously all came way behind the curve of where they should have been at their ages.   If you apply for adoption of this or any poodle, you must provide your groomer reference phone number on the application.  We will be calling them.     Our puppies are or will be neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated age appropriate (they will need additional vaccines), de-wormed and parasite treated/prevented throughout their time with CoH as a foster puppy.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2024, 5:53 pm

Story
Hi there, I am Bob Marley,I am not as famous as my namesake, but I could be! I am a young, smart, playful dog who would love to be part of your family. I am ok with other dogs but some of them scare me. I bark at some but it only so they will play with me. Toys are great especially if I can chew them, I am still a puppy at heart. I don’t live with kids but my foster thinks I would like to play with them. Cats are ok too, sometimes I play with them but mostly I ignore them. I love car rides and going to the beach. If it sounds like I would be a good addition to your family, fill in the adoption application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Lots of love to give,Bob Marley To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo.
