**Matcha is currently in foster care, if you`re interested in meeting her, please fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet and we will be in touch to schedule an appointment.Meet Matcha! This sweet 1-year-old Poodle came to the shelter as a stray—very thin, timid, and unsure of the world around her. But it didn’t take long for Matcha to warm up and show us the playful, loving dog she was meant to be!Just four days after arriving, Matcha went into foster care where she could gain weight, build confidence, and learn to trust. She settled in beautifully, and her foster says she is a “dream dog!” Matcha has gained the weight she needed, was spayed, and is now ready for the best part: finding her forever home. She’s come so far, and we can’t wait to see her loved the way she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient pup to add to your family, Matcha may just be your perfect match!

Story
Meet Nova! Nova is a beautiful 5‑year‑old Standard Poodle × Belgian Malinois mix with a sweet heart, a playful spirit, and a big love for her people. She’s wonderful with kids, dogs, and cats, and she’s fully house‑trained — a truly lovely companion. Nova thrives with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She loves long walks, playing fetch, learning new things, and being part of an active routine. When her needs aren’t met, she can become vocal or anxious, so she’s looking for a home that can give her the structure, activity, and engagement she deserves. She can be shy and sensitive at first, but she warms up quickly with gentle reassurance and positive attention. Once she trusts you, she’s affectionate, goofy, and eager to please. She’s also not a fan of nail trims, but patience (and treats!) help her feel safe. Nova’s current family loves her deeply, but they know she needs a lifestyle they can’t provide right now. They’re hoping to find her a home where she can be truly happy — one that understands her breed mix, her energy level, and her emotional needs. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog who will thrive with adventure, training, and companionship, Nova is ready for her next chapter. Story
Meet Arthur! My name is Arthur and I am a young, good-natured, and affectionate mixed-breed dog that weighs 65# and I would love to make your acquaintance.  They say I am very popular with the ladies, but buddies are cool too. I like being outside on sunny days, although I consider myself an indoor dog.  I really just prefer to be where my people are.  I am potty-trained and I sleep on my own bed next to my stepsister.  I’ve recently been neutered and I have had my first set of shots and something called a microchip.  I am happy all of the time and I still feel like a puppy a lot of days. I have a lot of energy that I need to manage, but once I get a little tired out, I can settle down and relax like everybody else.  As I get older, it will start to get easier for me. To help me manage it now, I like to be taken on long walks that give me plenty of time to smell the flowers.  A hike is even better! My leash skills are pretty good, but I’m young and I am still working on them.  I still get distracted a little…bit… …was that a Squirrel?!! I am very athletic and I bet I can keep up with any human!  I like to run and jump, and I have a very graceful trot where I just glide along the ground.   It just comes naturally, I guess.  I like playing in the water when the hose comes out, and I can jump very high to try to bite the stream and then chase it all over.  My stepsister just watches, but I think it’s great fun!  I like shaking my stuffed animal toys (but not too hard my foster says) and playing tug-of-war with old towels. I wish the whole world could be my playground! I have been staying with my foster family for about a month now and we have been getting along great! They have a nice big yard for me to run in, my stepsister gives me somebody to annoy, and they are super nice to me. They give me food!   I just think I’m ready to find my forever home now.  Once I do, I will want to stay with my people always.  I think I would like it if I wasn’t the only dog.  I don’t really like being by myself too much and always prefer company.  When I find that, I will be the happiest dog in the world! I’ve been getting a lot of attention in my current home, some structure, and a familiarity to their schedule.   I am very food motivated and it always seems like I’m hungry.  My stepfamily has been teaching me a lot.  Everybody tells me that I’m super smart! Arthur is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!   Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms.
